I doubt all of the fireworks were destroyed. I know from blowing up piles of fireworks as a kid that if you pile these things up and just light them not all will explode. One good firecracker and many just get jostled out of the pile or even extinguished after having been lit already. Quite a waste - of fireworks and tax payer money. Welcome to the nanny state.
