Ray brought out Cuddly Dudley to open children's mail. Cuddly was voiced by Roy Brown, also Cooky the Cook from the Bozo Circus show. Ray's show was on in the 60's and 70's.
@MGR1900 Well I'm 52 now & had a Cuddly duddly dog & house at around 7 or 8? my guess is 1966. Loved that Ray Rainer show in the 60s. Use to watch it getting ready for school.
@Godzie1 Ah, the year I was born. No wonder I don't remember it. I was too busy pooping my Pampers! I do remember Flip Wilson doing Geraldine though. How could you not remember that?
@MGR1900 I don't even remember pamper's diapers on store shelves back then..Of course I remember The Flip Wilson show. He was funny! "But the Devil made him do it"! lol
I grew up in Elkhart, Indiana watching WGN and have never forgotten the words to that song. GREAT job! I could reminisce for hours about Ray Rayner, Bozo, Garfield, Ring Master Ned, Frazier Thomas, Family Classics, etc. For that matter, I think of watching the Sox and maybe even the Hawks on WSNS. Now I live in California and I'm heartbroken to learn that there are no clips of those shows. Oh well, thanks for the memories and Go Slippery Rock!
I was just trying to explain Cuddley Dudley to my kids. I remember being about 4 and wondering "What's Slippery Rock?" :) Boy, did I love Ray Rayner!! Thanks all for explaining why I couldn't find clips.
Oh my! Why can't we find Ray on here? I watched him EVERY MORNING before school, what a great guy he was. I remember going to our local mall to see him and get his autograph! PLEASE PLEASE find some clips of RR you techies!!!
Oh, of course it was!!! I wasn't even thinking about that....no wonder we haven't seen clips of the show in WGN's nostalgia programs over the years. What a total bummer....well, at least we have our happy childhood memories!
Chauncey, was the never seen person who created the craft projects that Ray could never reproduce, with Elmer's glue all over his fingers he would always end up saying, "well, you get the idea"
I grew up watching Ray Rayner every morning before school (which started at the humane hour of 9:00 a.m.). I love when Ray fed Chauncy the mini boxes of rice krispies and lettuce. I, of course, had a Cuddley Duddley! Ray was better than Garfield or Bozo!
I remember the Ray Rayner show!!! I think this show was on early in the morning, at 7AM. I remember watching it, but sadly, I don't remember the Cudly Dudly song - yeah, it's been a long time - and I have forgotten the song. We used to have a Cudly Dudley big plush dog.
Also, I read your bio, and I am sorry about your son Aaron. Don't know what else to say, but you are in my thoughts and prayers, bud. I miss Chicago sometimes, but not in the winter.
Ah, good ol' Cud, that weisenheimer of an oversized stuffed orange cocker spaniel.
Calling all with archives access: We need more Ray Rayner stuff thrown up here @ Y'allTube. Urgently!
I'd love to see one of Ray's weekly visits with CheLOLveston the vicious duck, or the turtle races, or "Chauncy's Corner" where he'd make a pencil holder out of a soup can, felt and glue all over the place, or a studio filled with winners of the jellybean contest, or "Shall we...march!"
wow this brought back memories

Unfortunately there are no clips. Ray was aired live and his shows weren't taped.

I remember Chauncy the duck always tryin' to flee from Ray's death grip. Well, Chauncy and every kitten, or puppy ever appearing on the show. LOL!
