  • I agree with the statement he had a way of owning or "Lutherizing" a song. I wish he had recorded this song on an album. But I do have the "Love, Luther" set and there is a verson of "Anyone Who Had a Heart" and "So Amazing" that are just incredible

  • He's amazing, and so handsome here.

  • YES YES LORD YES KING LUTHER WILL ALWAYS LIVE ON!!!! QUEEN PATTI is and will always be awsome!! It Took LUTHER VANDROSS TO DO JUSTICE TO ONE OF HER SONGS!!!!!! THAKN YOU FOR THIS, I enn looking for it

  • Luther will always be with us, through his music...

Luther was one decent human being who preached love and never ever criticized or said anything bad about anyone...He even accepted his health issues with grace..RIP Luther

  • Patti...you've been officially LUTHERIZED!

  • THIS IS SUCH A GREAT VERSION, PATTI & LUTHER SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS VERSION AS A REMAKE.

  • Love Luther =)

  • Luther always had a gift for takin a song and making it his own.......!

  • this man could sing.

  • Original Voice

  • Hes just gifted!

  • Hi out there, can someone find Patti LaBelle and the Blue belles album titled "All Or Nothing" I need to hear the song 'All Or Nothing"Please!! THANKS.

  • its from 1965. Patti be sangin' too!

  • I wished Luther had put this song on one of his albums. It's such an obscure song and he is killing it, in a good way. I like the original also. Most people just slept on this song when it came out....I guess. HA HA...I was not born, if I was I was too little to remember it for sure. Grgeat song!

  • Gee makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Yes, the king of soul. ; )

  • I Would Say The Black Pavorotti But in away thats An insult Cause Luther was in a class all by his Damn self

  • I am a young boy from Colombia so i didn't know the Luther Music..But now I can say he were the BEST love song singer!!! Descansa en paz !!!

  • wow...i LOVE the way he "Lutherized" this rather unknown song...my life dream was to become one of his background singers...THEY ARE THE ABSOULUTE BEST!!!!...rest peacefully, Mr.Vandross...

  • You are right. He had the best background singers ever! Lisa Fischer and the kids!

  • when youre able to take a song and make it youre own youre a dam good artist and luther will always fit the bill love you and miss you always lutha.

  • Luther Vandross was truly incredible. He could take any artist song and make it his own. I sure I speak for countless others when I say that he is greatly missed. The artist of today need to take a page from the books of Luther, Patti, Aretha, Gladys, The O'Jays, Peabo Bryson, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Commodores - Lord knows I could go on and on - and take R&B back to where these artist worked so hard to get it to. When I hear that today's music is labeled as R&B, I think that is an insult.

  • The doors of the church are open, won't you come? You betta preach!!!! It astounds me to think that these lil teeny boppers have allowed these record companies to fool them into thinking they can actually sing!!! I'm fishing trying to add to what you've said, but there is nothing left to say! Truer(is this a word?..lol) words have NEVER been spoken. Luther was simply the best at his craft. Your comment is actually kind of scary bc it's as though I wrote it, myself!!! Ok, that's all I'll say..lol

  • Have you heard Luther sing Going In Circles, How Deep Is Your Love, Creepin', A House Is Not A Home, Always & Forever, Creepin', and Love Won't Let Me Wait? There are others but I'll stop there. Don't get me wrong, I like the originals but Luther just took those songs to another level and made them his own.

  • I familiar with his renditions, that's why I feel my comment was necessary because I have prior info hence research liseng to his remake of songs.

  • Im right there with u on this...They are legends in my book...

  • @jacqmurr i think there are artists out there today who could 'carry the torch' so to speak, however they aren't considered marketable to today's audience. today's music is about image more than talent, catering to the younger fanbase - eg last couple of american idol winner's - yeah they ok, but they couldn't touch the likes of luther vandross or peabo bryson

  • @jacqmurr My boy is truly missed but you know thank god and life that we lived in his time from start to finish and that is truly worth it all LOVE LUTHER

  • I am sooo grateful that I had the chance to see Mr. Vandross, Mr. Genius, live in Frankfurt / Germany 1993. So amazing and unforgetable. Great loss to the earth but all angels must be really happy to have such a singer among them. Mr. Vandross rest in peace. I will never forget u.

  • Thankyou for posting this never seen this performance before yes we all miss Luther but we will never forget him, by far one of the greatest talents and voices we may get to enjoy in our lifetime, thanks for everything Luther just wish I had the chance to tell you.

  • I still feel the loss of one the world's greatest voice. Sad thing not to have that voice around to mute the garbage that's out there in music.

  • Thanks for this one, I never heard this one...Love Luther....

  • Luther is without question one of the most excellent, gifted vocalists the industry had to offer and singing his rendition of this back in the track proves his voice has capability'n'capacity.

  • OMG!!! I have been looking for this!!! Thanks for adding this! Love it!

  • Fantastic. Our great loss. Up there with Lennon. Too early to go. Why?

  • Does Anyone have when Patti first entered the stage singing? What about when she sang with her group? (at the 2002 BET Walk of Fame)

  • HE pulled a major stunt like I would have done!!! Only a real fan would know this song and I would have pulled out something no one would have expected, too!! YOU GO, LUFFAH!!!!

  • What year was this from i'm guessing 2001?

  • He got on soooo well with Patti they would have been good married lol hehe...

No, but im sure she sorely misses him, as do i...and i didnt even know him, how sad is that!!!

  • G R E A T Luther!

  • Can you post on my own from the first part of the vid?

  • Love it! I remember when this first aired on B.E.T.

  • This was the BET WALK OF FAME tribute to Patti LaBelle!!! I will get back with you on the right year, I want to say 2001 or 2002 it was right after 9-11 and Patti did the Lord's Prayer to close out the show as a tribute to the guy on the plane who called his wife and asked her to say it with him before he perished.

  • Good to see this again, Luther wasn't only a great singer, he had a great sense of humor and had so much energy while performing, he truly loved it!
