  • I am stuck in Ohio for school, one state away from home, and they are completely different worlds, and it hurts that sometimes you have to remind yourself of home, because nobody else can if they haven't been there.

    State Away, Worlds Apart.

  • A message is like a bullet, with a revolution encrypted in a song.

Our war is not the bombs and planes... but our minds and voices....

Our war is a psychological war... Our war is an information war...

  • Don't let American excessive consumerism and imperialism blind you from your own true identity.

  • Oh fuck yes, GO JORDAN :D

  • Remember Christianity's not America...

  • @EagleDoubleZero right on brother. america was founded on the separation of church and state. if only everyone was athiest, then the world would be a much better place.

  • @slowdrum13 Actually, you wouldn't want me as a atheist. I was a trouble maker as an atheist. I posted that comment because there are things about both the US and Christianity that cancel each other out. Not to mention that I am a huge opponent of the Religious Right despite being part of their same religion.

  • @EagleDoubleZero lol, I was "kicked out" of church when I was 10 or 11 yrs. old....well, my parents were asked not to bring me back...it seemed that I asked too many questions and corrected the pastor when he told the entire congregation that when someone died they became an angel....I spoke w/him after the service on the way out and told him that he was wrong & my parents got "the speech"....lol!

  • 165 people still think hollywood is america ;)

  • @TheSgtSheppard Probably would sound a lot the same...except better!! LOL. Love Alejandro's voice! (not sure I spelled his name right but, you get what I mean.)

  • this was my fav song when i was little :D

  • @jillkissling This came out less than 3 years ago. If it was your favorite song 'when you were little', then newsflash: you're still little.

  • i think some stars should listen to this. some get paid a lot and lose who they really are and aren't the same person as they used to be. they just want the fame and don't realize who they really are when they weren't famous.

  • I love this song and this is my first day watchin it or even hearing it and I have to say that it is one of my favorites thanx Robert for making me listen to it :)

  • Amazing

  • I can't believe this guys from my town, nothing famous has EVER come from Gillespie. Which makes me believe that I can make it there too.

  • @kiminiaitakute The part where you say "it can relate" then spew a bunch of BS that doesn't make any sense. You're comment was stupid and illogical. I'm tired of people like you spouting nonsense then asking that oter people repect you opinion. You opinion was dumb and didn't sense. This is the real world, when you say something stupid, someone might point it out.

  • this song used to be on The-N non stop like three summers ago. =/ I miss that summer. I miss goin to camp instead of working there...High School isn't the same.

  • Didn't he say it was about Miley Cyrus. (Not Hating Love Both.)

  • Why isnt this on the radio it sounds like a radio friendly song that would become popular

  • @sammie31 its not on the radio cuz it came out like 4 years ago but i agree that it should be

  • I love this song so much its been my status on Facebook for like 5 weeks straight no lie. its really amazing

  • I Love This Song(:

And It Maens Alot To Me Because I Really Wwanna Be A Famous Singer (Check OUt The Videos On My Page)

But Everyone In My Small Town Thinks I Would Change If I Ever Got Noticed, BUt When I Was Really Little I Madee A Promise To Myself That I Would Stay Autum And If I Couldnt Then Hollywood Wasnt For Me.

  • This song has been on replay on my iPod for 3 months now, and I don't even get sick of it. I love this song so much.

Ferras' voice is so soothing, and somehow although the lyrics don't apply to me 24/7, it ALWAYS makes me happier.

Definitely one of my top 3 songs.

  • I only discovered this song yesterday night,

    and i absolutley love it♥

It's so well written, and the lyrics are great(:

it's full of meaning and so relatable,

    definatley listening to more(: ♥

  • I love the blue jeans reference, especially since the woman in the video is wearing a dress and seems lost. This song has so many meanings to so many people. Interpretation is what makes music amazing!

  • I love this song<3 its so cute!!

  • i miss ferras

  • Dude....those are some of DUMBEST lyrics I've heard. "...put your Bluuuuuuuuuuuu-uuuue jeans back on --girl...." Wow....classic.

  • @lescore67 theres a meaning to those lyrics

  • @lescore67 hm, well it seems your pretty dumb too. do u not get the lyrics? is that why ur saying this? i think u just dont get them so your making fun of it. dont worry. youll get it eventually.

  • the verses are decently written, he's a good pianist, he isn't a very strong singer, too pentatonic scale, and i think he shouldn't solo like at the end blehh, i dunno that's just my opinion and i'm stating it as a fact and not truth. i'm also under the impression that if the 'girl' was to go home, she'd still watch reality tv shows and strive to be skinny and want to be famous, which is pretty much hollywood...

  • she is hot to

  • This cd was so hard to find. I had to finally order it from Target online...It's worth it though!

  • @eirilover17 ALIENS AND RAINBOWS IS MY FAV ON THE ALBUM!

  • This is a gorgeous song and he's pretty hot too lol.

  • Anyone thought it was cruelly ironic that American Idol used this song as their farewell song for the people kicked off?

  • @SEAZNDragon EXACTLY

  • @SEAZNDragon made no sense to me either

  • This song is absolutely amazing! It came out during a time when most people considered music to be shit! It's so very well written and jut a small example of how great music can still be.

  • this is cool

  • i love this song

  • Miley Cyrus needs to hear this song.

  • @staceysmom00 agreed.

  • @staceysmom00 EXACTLY

  • @staceysmom00 SHE CAN'T BECAUSE THERE'S THAT ONE PARTY IN THE USA!

  • @musicluva314 haha nice. but they didnt invite her...lol

  • @staceysmom00 this is so ture

  • @staceysmom00 yeah, she'll hear it, fall in love with it, cover it, and murder thousands of Ferras' fans' ears.

  • @staceysmom00 don't say that i want her to become a slutty whore like the rest. her pain is my amusement Brittney is getting old, i need a new victim.

  • @staceysmom00

    Soooooooooo true.

  • @staceysmom00 yeah.. it is really true...

  • @staceysmom00 *stares you down* why

  • @staceysmom00 lol it's like Ferras sang this song to Miley Cyrus

  • best song ever i love it

  • LOVE THIS SONG.

  • 160 people sold out to Hollywood

  • This song will stand the test of time. The song is great, but Ferras could sing the phone book, and I'd listen. He's really good.

Remember - you can be anything you want to be.

  • This song will stand the test of time. The song is great, but Ferras could sing the phone book, and I'd listen. He's really good.

  • his voice is beautiful.

  • i actually cry every time i hear this song. so amazing :)

  • i remember when i heard this song like five times a day and then, poof, it just like dissapeared from radio-world. WTF HAPPENED? this is like the greatest song! :)

  • @Never10Shout4Never omg thats sooo right!!! i LOVE this song and all of a sudden it disappeared.....

  • I like the idea behind this song. Hollywood really could stand to take a hint, 'cuz there's a whoooooooooooooooooole lot o' country to film in between LA and NYC.

  • Someone should sing this song to Lindsay and Miley.

  • who knows the chords he uses? is there an a minor in there somewhere?

  • where do the peices fall though

  • I love this song because it's like, someone went to pursue who dreams, forgot who she was and where she came from, and then this song is telling her to go back to her roots--back to who she once was when she was a little more innocent...Oh, how it speaks to us who harbor big dreams...

  • @21melpomene *to pursue her dreams

  • He's underrated. :|

  • Where did Ferras go? AWESOME musician & disappeared! :|

  • 159 dislikes?? what the heck? who couldn't like this song?

  • this song is basically saying don't forget where you came form, and it so true because just as quick as you succeed you can always fail.

  • @brihacuite11 ,awesome post.(: and i agree with you.

  • I've been looking for this song! Lol

    Nice :) <3

  • His voice is so captivating . . .

  • This song makes me miss my family,..I hope they remember me

  • @linkf0rever21 why wouldnt they remember u? (:

  • love this song! it plays all the time where i work and i never knew the name of it or who sang it and finally i found it!!!

  • @YungNetti It drove me crazy when i couldnt find this song...... i havent listened to it in like a year or so and i just starting humming one line from the song over and over again. but im glad i found it!!

  • i love this song

  • I love this song.

So many people talk about wanting to be famous , but they only think of the good side of it, which is usually just the money. They never take into consideration the downside of being in the spotlight all the time. And how being "famous" can quickly get to a persons head and change them into someone who they truly weren't meant to me.

" You can make a million dollars, but you might lose yourself."

  • @skittle606 i agree what your saying is so true

  • His voice is so relaxing.

  • this song is amazing such a powerful message currently on repeat on my ipod...

  • Hm...I love this song, but I feel that this song isn't just isolated to those in Hollywood. Rather, it can relate to any of us who are in a career/occupation/situation due to reasons such as: money, status, family/peer pressure, etc etc. You know, reasons other than the fact that you like what you're doing. This song (to me) is like a wake-up call to those who are being/acting the way they know they are not. "You can do better; dust yourself up and move on."

  • @kiminiaitakute i think he wrote it as a metaphor, not literal.

  • @kiminiaitakute I feel like the story is a metaphor for the broader picture and he's not just talking about Hollywood

  • @kiminiaitakute No, this song is about how Hollywood's looks full of opportunities, but they are all either fake or not worth it. America's opportunities are real, but Hollywood's opportunities are fake -> "remember, Hollywood's not America". The message is: ditch Hollywood and go home to America where the opportunities are real and your life will really mean something.

  • @fmilluminatus: Dude, what part of "it can relate to" don't you understand? Is it the "CAN" part??? Apparently so, right? This is a good song that is open to anyone's interpretation; don't try to espouse your opinion as fact, or you'll just end up sounding like a self-righteous douche.

  • this song is so true...<3 i just love it so much :D

  • Maybe, the most honest and truthful song i have ever heard!

  • PUT YOUR PANTIES BACK ON ZOE!!!! GOOOO HOME!!!

  • nice

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO LONG PUT YOUR BLUE JEANS BACK ON GIRL GOOOOOOO HOME!!!!

  • I really wish my boyfriend would have a listen to this song.

    He wants to be famous...

But I know deep down it'll only tear him apart...

    And he'll never see that,

Until it actually happens to him.

    :/

  • @ZoeeeWutt

Sometimes you just have to let people live their dreams even if you think it's a mistake. You don't want him "blaming" you for the rest of his life because you "ruined his chances." Let him pursue it..if he fails, then he will move on with his life...but there's always a chance he might success (small chance, but it does happen). Be supportive without giving up your dreams in the process.

  • @luigee78

Thank you very much for the advice. :]

  • this is a badass song <3 love him :)

  • this song sounds like the defenition of miley cyrus

  • I don't think it's been that difficult to make it as a gay artist, especially in the last 10 years. I didn't even know he was gay. I just like the song a lot. I think he didn't get recognition simply because... you win some you lose some in the pop industry. It's not like it's really an industry based primarily on talent... rather shock value.

  • this is preharp, not perharps, the greatest song ever

  • @yfset8 I agree.

  • HE TWEETED ME!

  • best song ever!! love it:)

  • any Christians up in here? check my video out, I was born Red(u weren't born gay).

  • @LordsLight GET OUT OF HERE.

  • @neonberry512 U funny and can stretch.

  • Miley Cyrus should listen to this song!

  • Ok. For everyone that is hating b/c of hi sexual orientation, if you hadnt know before hand, you probaly would have loved the song. Many ppl need to stop looking at who each person is based on religion, race, and sexuality and just look at the talent behind the person. I honestly think that we all need to be more open to different, new things...It would make this world so much better.

  • Wat is this sone about? i have this idea in my head but i think its wrong lol

  • @missanonomous77 i think its kinda about going back to who you once were. kinda finding your old self and embracing it and not allowing fame to get you to be someone your not....dont forget where you can from and the person you are....i think...hope that helps

  • @Glamwolf oh okay it makes sense now,thanx :-)

  • this song is to beautiful

  • umm, he's married with a kid on the way, where are these gay comments coming from

  • @jonasbrotherss411 He's gay -_-. Go look at his twitter. He often states this.

  • @Katianari homophobe much ?

  • @coconutsurvivor03 .....How on earth did that comment come across as homophobic? That emoticon was obviously at the user for not doing his/her research, not at the fact that ferras is gay.

  • this song is beautfiul..i heard it in the wee hours of the morning with som1 very special and when i heard it at work i asked every1 what the name was until i finally googled the lyrics..might have moved me to tears at one point :)

  • he has gauges :) lol

  • such a sweet song:)

  • This song (and the artist) is so underrated. One of the BEST songs I have ever heard and the singer still seems unknown... WHY?!?!

  • These are the type of songs that inspire you to be a musician or singer because this song is just so original, contemporary & distinct from the rest of mediocre pop radio and that is what a real artist is suppose to be all about : distinguishing his or herself from what is currently pulling in a group (of people) and means not making your music sound like Beiber, Drake, Ke$ha, or Britney Spears.

  • no one knows this song becasue lady gaga is taking over the world

  • @MaricleChild3 no the hell she is not

  • When I heard this song on the radio I just couldn't stop listening to it, I can't believe it's been like 2 years since I've stopped listening to it, well I never forgot the song, I just didn't feel like listening to it. But I freakin' love this song!

  • It's funny that everyone is saying they heard this on the radio, but I never have because this song did not peak at a very good number on the charts to get the airplay that it deserves thanks to crappy songs like Your Love Is My Drug by Ke$ha, and I Want To Be Billionaire by Travis McCoy (and songs like that is why ''Hollywood Is Not America'' was made). Our generation of music listeners have reached an all time new low by creating popularity for crap that don't inspire us to be musicians also

  • @PopCulture20 ummm this song was released more that 2 years ago...i doubt they'd still play it now.

  • @coconutsurvivor03 ummm I was giving examples of overrated songs...... and don't they still play songs that came out like 40 yrs old ago?

  • @PopCulture20 this song isn't that good tbh and i'm a big ferras fan and i don't think they'd play this song especially not on mainstream radios..

  • @PopCulture20 there are other stations that focus on older songs..

  • um wow i use to be in love with ferras!!! i saw him a couple times!!! i miss him!

  • i heard this song on the radio and i just fell in love

  • i think its a nice song

  • Comment removed
