What you say about the Lotus Carltons top speed is pretty much the same for any other car....What Im saying is the manufacturers top speed claims are never accurate. it's SAAB 9000 in the video, it has nothing to do with vauxhall, it's got Type Four chassis which was co-developed with AlfaRomeo, FIAT and Lancia. Later GM SAABs(ng900, 9-5, 9-3) use same chassis as Vauxhall.

Also, to MrGoranov, it's very likely that the SAAB used here is FPT model(200bhp), police could not have afforded Aero models. Even with light modifications(not much allowed to cop cars) you would get maybe 250-270 bhp. That's nowhere near to the performance level of Lotus Carlton.

"Considering" that the GTD had gone 140mph (GPS) and on a certain downhill section of the A3 highway it also gone up to ~155mph, you can start rubbing them.

And, the C63 has the "driver's package", that means is limited to 280km/h but, it goes 286km/h (GPS) or 303km/h (Speedo).

So, please...eat them...use pepper and salt.

BTW, I can bet that I've spent more time on the roads doing upwards of 200km/h as you did in total, normal driving.

Normally, M3 and C63 AMG are limited to 250 kph, IS-F to 270 kph. Actually, there is a rumor that the IS-F can reach 200 mph (321.8 kph), but I highly doubt it (on a FLAT straight - downhill without a problem). I would believe about 190 mph/305.7 kph.

Yes, in Australia we have a similar car (same floorpan) with a GM3800 V6 (or 5.0L V8)and MacPherson struts up front, VN and VP Holden Commodore, synonomous with hoons and bogans. *shrug* the Commodore wasn't bad, but could have been better *points to Lotus Carlton* Also note that this Saab was probably after GM got it's hands into the sweedish car maker's pockets and messed with the beautiful 9000. My favourite 9000: 1992 2.3t with full pressure turbo. Just beautiful to drive.
