@ellarocio I know. :-( I guess it's possible, though, that Kermit meant he didn't need it for this particular lecture. He might have wanted to save it for another lecture, or maybe a project. I think Kermit just hates Cookie Monster's destructive tendencies in general. But I imagine his outburst made Cookie Monster not only sad, but confused!
Not even the SESAME STREET cast is safe from one of Kermit's famous and frequent outbursts. I sure glad Big Bird or Natasha weren't in the same room as him and his rage. I'm sure glad he toned down in the 80's.
1:22 When Cookie Monster holds Kermit close and begs him not to tell Cookie's mommy I really lost it. Jim, Frank, and the puppeteer for Cookie's right hand were very animated in this sketch. Great upload!
I read about this clip in 40 years of sunny days, the sesame street aniversary book, and I decided to see if I could find this clip. I love it! YOU BIG DUMB ROTTEN MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO, FROGGY, NOT MY MOMMY!!!!! YES, I"M going to tell your mommy!
Funny how times change. When I was a child and watched this skit, I wasnt damaged when Kermit called Cookie Monster a dumb, stupid, rotten monster. It didnt really phase the kids or parents. Today, God forbid any of these monsters or characters on SS say something that isn't 100% politically correct. Why are people so afraid now a days?! That is one of the reasons our country is soooo f-ed up now. Woot for vintage SS!!!
Awesome!!!, I thought I would never see this one. My kids love it. Do you also have from that series the 'watch the dance' clip that featured a calypso jamaican band in a tropical setting that played awesome steel drums and a wooden paddle puppet dancing around.
@parkercadie1 I wish it did, 2. I'd rather watch this or pinball number count, than a cookie is a sometimes food. Please don't get mad at me for saying so
I know man, even then it had some of the same elements of comedy as the Muppet Show. Now, it is FAR too namby-pamby for child at age ages 2-5. Far too much focus on Elmo and Abby Cadabby. Big Bird isn't even the main character anymore. Given the case of the unfortunate situation, he should also be a recurring character in the Muppet Show franchise (if they should ever get another series). He has too much persona to have his screen time significantly reduced.
there is no need to call people derogatory names. i myself was shocked at some of the things on sesame in '69, but then i just thought, wow, interesting.
you big fat, stupid, rotten monster!...you are without a doubt one of the nastiest monsters i've ever seen...and nobody's ever gonna play with you anymore, nobody's gonna even play with you anymore!
OMG, I remember this clip so clearly, I haven't seen it in 40 years, when I was a barely-cognizant kid... Thanks for posting this stuff... It is mind blowing to see this stuff again.

If he gets mad when a monster eats something that he is not supposed to eat then he must have been mad alot during the muppet show.

I blame angry conservative church ladies.
Those have no sense of humour, and they tend to make lots of phonecalls to network stations.

I agree! I miss those old sketches. These monsters today don't have the appeal that the old ones did. They definitely held my attention back then!
