This is probably the most fun the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra has ever had. ;) That Pratchett fella has some serious clout...and for good reason! When I first saw the title of the vid, I thought the anthem would be to the tune of 'We Will Rock You' - but this is great too :p
Wow... they even saved us the trouble of having to forget the words and sing half the song as "hner". I'm SO singing this next time anyone asks me to perform the national anthem (like that'll happen- I'm pretty horrid). Possible new favorite song.
Pax Morporkia: "If you fight, we'll call in your mortgages. And incidentally that's my pike you're pointing at me. I paid for that shield you're holding. And take my helmet off when you speak to me, you horrible little debtor."
What about Agnes/Perdita and Sybil singing it in a duet, with Nanny Ogg performing an interpretive dance in the background? We could make millions here... ;)
@aliveinchrist13 That's where you're wrong. Nanny's dancing is always appropriate, it's her singing you should watch out for. (And never ever serve her a pickled onion during official dining, all the guests would be scared for life.)
In the real world, nobody knows the second verse of their national anthem anyway, so in the books the guy who wrote it decided it would be easier to have a second verse of ners because its what people would be doing anyway
Personally, I know the Canadian anthem first verse (like everyone else), second verse (we sang it in high school), and French version (I thought it sounded interesting). But I'm an anomaly.
Brilliant! I can so see the members of the watch lining up on Parade day to sing this. (Anyone standing near Nobby would probably being doing a lot more "Hner" ing though!)
Man this is right up there with the Blazing Saddles theme song.

Sometimes, I wish that my country had an anthem like this, rather than the dirge-like one we have now with outdated language.
