@Shaysteamjamb 751 was on the point of a northbound train that hit a rockslide at milepost 63.5, on November 4,1985. It tumbled down an embankment, with its two trailing units (761 & 705) on top of it. Despite the significant damage, the railway opted to reconstruct 751, though it was determined once the rebuild process was underway that scrapping the unit and buying a new one would've been more economical. The rebuild process took roughly 1 1/2 years.
@Shaysteamjamb Also, after all the rebuild work was finished, 751 was purportedly the first unit to wear the later version of the R/W/B scheme with the two-color logo.
Awesome work as Always - This location is full of trees now so this video could no longer be taken looking over the water. Grat to see the two tone green and speeder!
You don't often see clips of the old dogwood colour scheme. It will always be my favourite. Too bad this is now a fallen flag railroad. Interesting to see both colour schemes on the same train. Love those extended vision cabooses. Looks just like my layout running BCRail SD-40's. Thanks very much for the nostalgia trip.
@bluecomet390 You're welcome! Thanks for the comment. Ya, too bad it is a fallen flag is right! Never thought there would be a BC with no BC Rail. I presume your SD-40s sport the dogwood scheme.
Good to see you're posting more of your superb classic BC Rail footage, Shaysteamjamb. As always, thanks for sharing!

@88mroux The four-cycle units, in order as seen in the video 713, 727, 707, 730, & 728,
are MLW M-630s built in Canada.

@Shaysteamjamb In addition, SD40-2 #751, on the point of the second train, is Canadian-built, and has an interesting story to tell.

@pennsyr1 My friends and I have been trying to figure out the story behind the #751. So far we are drawing a blank. What is the story?

@TMandN You're welcome! Too bad the videos are so grainy or fuzzy or whatever they are. VHS tapes did not produce good archival images!
