@rancheroman1961 Faster is not always better. A popper relies on airflow to move the beans, While a drum roaster relies on vanes so in order to move the beans in a popper there must be high airflow. This is not true with a drum roaster. You can control the airflow on a drum roaster resulting in a much more controlled and all around better, more dialed in profiles. I am glad that the popper works for you, but do not criticize someone for wanting more control over their roast.

I believe you are from germany since I heard german in the background and the ipod was in german. I am from the netherlands so that's close by. Could you tell me where you got this quest m3 roaster and how much it cost with shipping (perhaps via the pm function.
Question 1: I see two knobs, one is supposedly for the heater power and the other is for the airflow, is this correct? (That is, you control the heater power and watch the temperature rising accordingly, or you control the temperature?)
Question 2: the perforated tray into which the coffee is ejected seems to have a seating place at the top where the air is sucked/blown, thus achieving an active cooling capability of the beans (by intentional airflow), is this correct?
You can accomplish the same results from a $5 old popcorn air popper and it will do it faster.
