Fucking morons need to stop using a certain drummers name on here. Its really childish. I liked TB for about 30 minutes in my entire life, then I got sick of him. He has his own thing, but Virgil is the master, technical genius that was the fuel to the fire of many up and coming drummers, including Lang. Along with Gavin Harrison, Minnemann, and Colaiuta and Langguth, Virgil is in my top five of all time. To this day, he still amazes me, unlike some of the ignorant comments on here!

There is no doubt that this guy has serious chops and hand speed. He's putting a hurting on that set and he seems very humble for such a talented guy. The problem for me is there's little attempt to do anything creative like mix up the tempo a little or maybe throw in a complex beat here and there. Lang always leaves me feeling the same way after his solos. Don't get me wrong, what they're doing is insane and I still enjoy watching it. Check out Ronald Bruner jr. Crazy good very musical player.

Totally agree on the sound of the set. It is shockingly bad. When you can barely distinguish the strokes on those flat drums it just kills it. The bass feet work was awesome and at least the camera caught that.. I think the miking work sucked too. It's a shame, he's a legendary player.

I've seen other videos of him and his drums sounded like garbage then too. Not all great drummers know how to get their drums to sound great. His toms are hardly audible. Snare sounds choked. No singing from the kit at all.

@gundorlt Sounds like the tone of the drums aren't very good to me. I'm sure they could've sounded better with more EQ and whatever else was needed. From what I'm hearing though, it's not a good acoustic drum sound to begin with. The guy is amazing though so whoopitty doo.
