  • Drop D. It's in an older BD Guitar book, and I learned it from that. Then you just have to play it to make your own.

  • Beautiful!! Thank you for these wondrous, awe inspiring images to go with this song which I've loved for decades. Can''t wait to see BC on his Spring '11 Tour. Yay! Got my tix!

  • This song and "Hills of Morning" from DitDJ got me permanently hooked on Cockburn.

  • This is sweet..........one of my very favorite songs forever. I'm so sad about the gulf and I just can't look at pictures of my beautiful birds being destroyed anymore.........not to mention the humans, not to mention this is a MAN MADE disaster. Greed for oil, greed for $, Thank you for this one!!!

  • CLASSIC BRUCE!!

  • Absolutely beautiful song.

  • Very beautiful, thank you

  • possibly my favorite bruce song..long time fan. Im so glad i thought to search him on here...ive been reminded just how incredible his stuff is.

  • You bet -- that's a good favourite one for sure!

  • I'd love to try this out on guitar but can't find the chords online. (I'm not so good at picking them out..)

Can anyone help me with this?

  • I think you'd need tablature (tab) rather than chords to do it properly. I found it in a songbook and did it years ago, but not sure if findable online. Also likely an alternate tuning if I recall, but it's been a while.

    Cheers!

  • What a great album this was.

  • I have always been a Bruce Cockburn fan and enjoy the guitar myself. He is an INSPIRATION! Loved the song `bright Sky` from the ``Further Adventures of Bruce Cockburn`` album.

  • This is my favorite tune off Dancing in the Dragon's Jaw. Yahoo!

  • I was a Cockburn nut growing up many moons ago, still am. What a wonderful artist. Truly a Canadian treasure.

  • Great video! Thanks for sharing!

  • this song brings me back to the ocean and the country in the 70's and 80's just before college things were so hopeful and new back then and God was everywhere

"... things were so hopeful and new back then and God was everywhere"

I feel what you mean, but remember, God never changes only we do, I guess. If you think about it, this can only be encouraging :)

  • Best track on the album. Thanks!

  • I don't know, Cholling. Maybe (it's fabulous, all right), but "Dancing in the Dragon's Jaws" was a superlative album! Almost every cut was truly something special. A masterpiece, and a CD very worth tracking down and owning.

  • Yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about!!!

    Thank you, VA7KSP! =)

  • That was gorgeous. I especially loved the sound of the water rushing at the end, just like applause! Excellent.

  • Really like your stuff VA7!

This song and Cockburns early stuff influenced me to seek for the reality of the person of Jesus.

Cockburn, his music and poetry did a much better job than any preacher I had ever heard.

    Keep the art coming...and thanks.
