  • LORD ENGLISH DISLIKED THIS VIDEO

  • ...

Reminds me of the Lavender Town theme.

  • 1 person doesn't like the Midnight Crew...

  • @TheMindlessEmo. Same here! :D

  • I always think of this more as a theme to Homestuck for some reason. It's pretty upbeat which can represent the pace of the story which changes from one place to another quickly, and not to mention this ballad is badass anyway.

  • The pedants would peg my heart as a cherry red pump, a beating scarlet circulator of life.

    But they'd be wrong.

What sits ensconced in my ribcage is a lowly inkpot, full of the most vile oil-based blackness you'd ever know. A well full of midnight's dinner wine. And when I deal with someone like you, the inkpot replenishes with fresh dread.

But then I pull out my little pen. So long, so sharp, glinting in the stark moonlight. I dip it in and write all across your throat the tale of Jack Noir.

  • Loathsome, Angry, Depressed.

This is the best alarm clock sound ringy thingy.

  • The beginning kinda reminded me of Lavender Town.

  • @MegaShroom22

    shudder

  • @KakityK Alot of the HS Soundtracks are the same tunes, repeated with edits and tweaks like instrument and tempo changes.

  • This music needs to be the background music for a hardboiled C64 detective game, starring Jack Noir.

  • I love this song!!

  • Urge to break clocks... rising.

  • Now all we need is a Ballad of Jack Weiss! Wait, forgot about how crappy a politician he was... never mind.

  • If there were a midnight crew game in SNES quality, this would be the title theme.

  • @Zilronman Holy buckets, I would SO play that game.

  • @Zilronman Seconded. I'd totally play that. Again and again. Forever.

  • This reminds me of Lavender Town from Pokemon. ._.

    It's still amazing though. <3

  • hahah jack black :p

  • Yo, quit sinking my ships.

  • Sounds like Lavender Town a bit.

  • Reminds me somewhat of a pokemon game theme ;P

  • LYRICS:

    *instrumental*

  • STRIFE!

  • OH SHIT THIS IS SO FUCKING SINISTER IT TICKLES ME

  • Okay I know that nobody's mentioned this but seriously guys, why does this remind me of Pokemon? I'm reminded of something creepy from Gold, anybody wanna elaborate?

But seriously this is catchy as hell, and fitting for both Jacks it feels

  • @LordScarlett

It's probably the sequence of notes in the background throughout the song (most noticable in the beginning). That part sounds like caves and such from the Gen2 games.

  • @LordScarlett lavender town?

  • Okay, now understand the history. Prospit and Derse are the dream worlds. Skaia is their battlefield. Jack Noir, along with WV are sick and tired of Derse's monarchy. AR and PM also lives in Derse as normal citizens. Jack succesfully kills the Black Queen and King and became the ruler of Derse. PM was instructed by Jack to kill the White king and Queen of Prospit, but she didn't because she's a good person. The White Queen was safe and went to future Earth.Jack attacked Prospit and destroyed it.

  • @801Milcah that's the kids' Jack.

The trolls' Jack on the otherhand also hate and helped the trolls defeat the monarchy. Trolls' Jack then exiled himself, along with his gang and became Spades Slick and formed the Midnight Crew and created their own town. The Black Queen survived the trolls attacked and she too exiled herself from Derse and became Snowman, the eight member of The Felt, who is the Midnight Crew's biggest rival.

  • Kids' Jack = Jack Noir (The one with the fancy hat)

Trolls' Jack = Spades Slick (The one with the ace symbol)

I hope I clarified a lot of people here.

But my question is, why do the trolls bother helping the kids anyway? Does that mean that the kids' and trolls' games are going to intersect in the future, which will lead both teams to doom? Will Jack Noir and Spades Slick ever meet?

  • What game is this from? Sorry, noob question :P

  • @eponafan Okay, I just learned it was from a comic called Homestuck...I've been reading it for a while....when does he show up :o?

  • @eponafan Not till act 5, my friend.

Keep reading though, he will blow your mind.

  • @SuperHappyFunTime009 Ah okay...except for the Wayward Vagabond, I've found it pretty boring :/...

  • ...then I plot to rid it of existence. Like furries, or Mann Co. Supply Crates

  • This song always plays in my head when something annoys me greatly.

  • I want to see Jack stabbing someone to the beat.

  • Sounds like Scott Pilgrim vs the World a bit.

  • "Greetings useless peons,

    youve done terrible so far.

    Treading venom pools for eons,

    suffering with no scars......

    Mercy everlasting....

    Hiding who you are.

    Welcome to the dark side,

    My name is Jack Noir!"

  • @IMMAPIGMASK111 I'm the Overlord of Badass,

    The shadow-magic priest.

Chosen ones cry out for mother,

    Of trouble?

    YOU'RE THE LEAST!

I really hate these stupid hats,

    And that stupid king.

    Can shove something...

    Up his...

    ...Thing.

  • Reading through the archives for the first time. Just finished Act 4. I also just got the joke about Jack Noir. It's been under a week, but damn I feel slow.

    no, wait, wrong threat...

  • @HaffLaif I warned you about the HardBoiledYoshi, bro!

    I told you, dog!

  • Someone needs to add lyrics to this, then sing it.

    Because yeah.

  • @Chromedisant

This actually does have lyrics. Search "the ballad of jack noir" and you'll probably find it fast.

  • @Mrcrash826 Uh, no. Can't find it anywhere.

  • @Mrcrash826 nevermind I found it

  • I really like this song.

  • Does anyone else get a Tim Burton or Disney villain vibe hearing this one?

  • @TheChimpyManCan Yes....yes I do.

  • @TheChimpyManCan It was originally a vocal with Jack Noir singing. So yes, that was actually the point.

  • @NOVAtheRetard Someone should seriously post the original if it's available 8c

  • @TheChimpyManCan I wholeheartedly agree.

  • @TheChimpyManCan More of Tim Burton, but that's just me. :3

  • My favorite song in the album.

  • @fastlane250 I like Three in the Morning the best. This one is also up there along with Liquid Negrocity.

  • Okay, so I haven't bought The Midnight Crew album yet (*hangs head in shame*), so this is the first time I heard this.

First reaction: if you were REALLY talented, you could recreate this with a balloon squeaks, some high-end mixing equipment, and a lot of spare time.

Second and final reaction: this is made of WIN. What are the chances I can get this as my ringtone?

  • @heidrance that's actually how i made that song, if you want it as your ringtone send me your phone and an uninflated balloon
