Loved this group growing up here in Salinas,CA they played all the local gigs. Good to see this video here..great memories of high school days in the 60's
I'm surprised the E-Types were able to learn this from the sheet music, because the sheet music of Lennon-McCartney songs back in those days was generally impossible to work with! This is much better than Cilla Black's rather appalling version. I daresay the E-Types' version is better even than the version the Beatles recorded (when Pete Best was still the drummer)! (I do like the version by the B-52s' Kate Pierson.) BTW, I LOVE the E-Types' song "Put the Clock Back On the Wall"!
Yes this is one of my favourites by The E-Types Kim. The E-Types are very talented and I enjoy their Music very much. Kim, please be sure to visit the Music Blogspot that I have created for The E-Types. Bob is such a talented rythmn Guitarist and singer!!!! 5 stars.
I've only ever heard the version of this song by the magnificent Cilla Black. This recording is great - adds a layer of sensitivity to the song and is probably more akin to what The Beatles version would have been like. Thanks for sharing it :-)
i have cillas version on my favorites which i love, then i read your comment and after listening to your version i was very impressed, a much softer version of this great song and a much better version than the one the beatles made, thanks for sharing.
A very pleasant version of Lennon & McCartney's song... This was recorded in the UK by Cilla Black (see my post for her version) and was her first minor hit... When listening to this E-Types cover I was immediately struck by the thought that this could almost have been 'Peter & Gordon' singing! The melodic style is very reminiscent of some of their '60's recordings...
Until now, I was unaware of the E-Types, but now I've downloaded and saved this track as a rare (to me) recording. Thanks...
We found this song in a Beatles Song Book. Don could read sheet music and we arranged it from there. We didn't know that anyone else had recorded it at that time. (1966)
At the time you guys were performing this, I don't think I knew this was a Beatles song. I still do not have a Beatles version of this in my collection - just yours.
found the 45 to this in 1993 i believe.good one :)

Beautiful love song! I enjoyed all of the old 1960's photographs very much. Bob you and The E-Types were such a talented band.

Great version guys. I'm diggin' the old photos too!
I love the vocal harmonies you guys did.....superb.
Newer music just doesn't have the bands with all four guys singing like that anymore.
Coz it ain't easy!!!!
Thanks for posting another nice one! ;)

Great cover of an unknown Beatle track. If Paul McCartney heard this version he would be proud to claim it! Great job. Thanks for sharing that one.
