A good way to see how badly videos can be done is to watch a few 'exert village' videos. By contrast, your videos are great.
With a photography background, I see guys making the mistake of shooting in bright sun with too much contrast. Good lighting is critical, preferably with flat light to open up the shadows. Manual focus and manual exposure will help to keep the focus and exposure on the subject.
this was very educational for me cause i plan to make some videos of refrigerator repairs, and i agree with you on everything you said,i will have to break everything into 10 minute or less segments, but i never thought about someone having to watch them in order.
nice video, great exaggurated examples.... i lol'ed on quite a few of the scenes. oh and you should also do a video on what multimeters to buy.... i am thining about getting a fluke 116/322 meter combo
I'm really pleased how this video turned out. Thanks Dr.Z! But on another note, I've got some really great news. If all goes well, I maybe featuring some partnership videos. The invite came this morning, and I owe it all to you Dr. Z!!!
Let me rephrase that, lol. I owe you my gratitude, not gratuities [insert big LOL], for all your guidence and taking me under your wing when I first started. You are a great friend indeed, and Thank YOU!
Good advice dr z, I would also add that you should have the compressor, or unit off while shooting the video so you can hear what the person is saying. I also agree with the music in the back round, for the most part leave it out. However if done correctly it may turn out awesome. One of the best ones I've seen with music was done by Putsome5tankonit. It was called "HVAC Unusual service calls" posted about a year ago.
Great information on video making and so hilarious at the same time. I agree with NOT making more than 1 video a day, maybe just like 2 videos a week would be fine for me, lol. squince
