  • @urbanrossandich1 Aerial

  • @urbanrossandich1 hey how can i practice but i dont have a tramp.? is there any other way?

  • @austinrossi1 his spelling is correct in the quote you wrote. whats the problem

  • @Model1337s I spelled it how it should be, but he spelled it "Arial" instead of "Aerial"

  • @austinrossi1 ah.

  • @austinrossi1 stfu he taught me how to backflip

  • @urbanrossandich1 yeah your like 165lbs im currently trying to lose weight, thats whay im currently doing on my channel. It would help if you subscribe or even give me a shout out since your averaging like 50k views a vid.

also do you think all these flips can be done if i would weigh 214lbs or 97kg

  • @urbanrossandich1 165 Lbs

  • @urbanrossandich1 75kg is 165 lbs

  • GREAT! now I can fight like link!

  • @darkbeetlebot :D ninja

  • @darkbeetlebot Thinking exact same thing :)

  • this tutorial is really good ! I might have my backflip on flat ground done by the end of this week ! Thanks so much !

  • @TheCybern00dle good luck man :)

  • w3w!!!i need to buy trapoline!!!

  • @AbegailKinaadman yes! they help so much, you will learn 10x faster

  • @urbanrossandich1

Providing you have a safe place to use a trampoline, which I don't. Even if I had a way to buy one, I wouldn't because there isn't a safe place to use one where I live. And I have goal to do a backflip by my birthday, which is at the end of August, but if I can find a way to do one before then, I'll certainly do so. But it will be difficult, as I don't have an accesible gym in my area, nor someone to spot for me to get rid of the fear of flipping backwards.

  • @cjs3872 Ah yeh :/ well can you find like a mini tramp or spring board?

  • @urbanrossandich1

The problem with a mini-tramp would be the same as a regular-sized trampoline, and that would be that there's no place safe to use it where I live because the backyard is sloped. And what do you mean by a springboard? And also, the only padded objects I could take to the field I visit would be a sofa cushion and an exercise mat, but I found that to be too small an area, as I could barely do a backwards roll on them.

  • @urbanrossandich1

Practicing handstands where I live is a challenge, as well, as the head room is such that, at just 5' 7" tall, I can touch the ceiling in my apartment without leaving my feet, sometimes even flat-footed without shoes on. And I'm not sure your idea of a springboard would do much about the fear issue. I tried a few straight jumps without shoes on at the field a month ago, and wound up getting a knot on my right foot as a result of a landing that's still there.

  • @urbanrossandich1

Also, about two to three weeks ago, I did a few straight tuck jumps at the field and actually felt myself losing balance as I seemed to fall backwards. It turns out that someone else told me that, when I did those straight tucks on the ground that I actually began to rotate backwards without even knowing it. Is that true?

And I'm also getting better at free handstands at the apartment where I live, to the point where I can hold one for about 5-8 seconds.

  • @cjs3872 cool! My goal was to be able to do a backflip AND a frontflip by the summer so that I can do them into my pool. But I'm thinking that if I haven't learned them by then I'll just try then and get it down.

  • @13zomi

Well, at least you have a pool, or something soft to try them in. I don't have that luxury. The only place I can go to even attempt acrobatics of any kind is a ball field six blocks from where I live, since I have no accessible gym I can go to, no trampoline to use (using one where I live would be dangerous anyway, due to the sloped backyard where I live), nobody to spot for me when I eventually try (or anyone heavy enough to support me), nor an accessible pool.

  • @13zomi

But first, I have to conquer my fear of going backwards in any way, not just flipping backwards, as well as my fear of falling, which goes back to an incident in which I fell down two-thirds of a flight of concrete stairs when I was about 10 (I'm 39 now).

  • @cjs3872 Yeah, that's the same thing with me. I have the fear of not landing on my feet and on my head and breaking something. But what my problem is is that I don't think I'm jumping high enough because I can't figure out how to get my feet up high, tuck in and spin before my feet touch the ground again. So I'm thinking about starting from higher ground first and seeing what happens. Just so I have enough space to flip and land on my feet. I'm not giving up and hopefully you don't! Good luck!

  • @13zomi

Well, at that field I go to, there are hills. I'm just afraid of going blindly backwards, even if it's on the ground, as well as being afraid to fall. When I'm there, I do cartwheels (not very neatly), handstands, splits, round-offs, but nothing going blindly backwards. In fact, last time I was there, I did a few bridges, hoping to be able to kick my legs over my head, and when I tried to sway myself and walk my hands closer to my feet, my arms and shoulders actually rotated.

  • @13zomi

And I forgot to mention, in addition to doing cartwheels, handstands (I must be careful not to over kick them, since I don't know how to bail out very well, as I can't even go into a roll), splits (left leg in front), and round-offs, I also do straight jumps and straight tucks. In fact, it was doing a straight jump with no shoes on six weeks ago that I landed hard on my feet and have a knot on the back of my right heel that's still there. But I can't make myself flip backwards.

  • i dont have a trampoline, would any of you recommend i skip that part and go straight to grass or use a matress. pwweeeese respong. :D

  • @wheniwasinvietnam might be risky but you can give it a shot :3

  • @urbanrossandich1

Having completed a cartwheel on the ball field last week, and getting better at handstands, ny next planned steps to getting to try a backflip are to try a valdez/macaco, though I might not have enough arm strength for that. Then it's to try handsprings to the side, then go straighter back, then I might try running front flips as you suggested.

  • @urbanrossandich1

Then, if I do running front flips, I would then try to do backflips off the steps at the wood pellet box at the ball field I go to, and then I'll then try them off the ground. But I first have to convince myself to try to flip backwards, since I have to go to the field near where I live to try them. But I don't have accessible gym in my area, so getting instruction is out of the question, nor a trampoline where I can get over the fear of flipping backwards.

  • @wheniwasinvietnam lol me too

  • @wheniwasinvietnam 2 weeks later he is dead....cause: a broken neck

  • @19Bloodhound94 I haven't gotten hurt and you're not funny.

  • i used to be able to do a backflip on the tramp but then i kept over flipping onto my back and when i hit the mat wit my head it moved over so i hit my head on the metal bar it really hurt i have lost confidence in doing it again even when i dont bounce really high and dont flip fast i still hiy my head any tips? also whats the song called?

  • Good video but put on some weight you skinny asian! You would be snapped like a twig if you were to walk into my wing-chun class.

  • @AryanPersianProdigy im a australian tsumo wrestler ;)

  • last time i tried backflip on tramp i did it perfect(friends were teaching me) but then got scared and bailed halfway so i landed on my shoulders and knee'd myself in the nose LOL. i can frontflip everything n fronties 180/360 and can sideflip but cant backflip. to scared now :l

  • thats easy to do try a double

  • @ELITEGAMERZ04 i can double! :D

  • I need to practice a lot. Thx for the tips! Very useful!

  • I can do the flip but just before i land my hands touch the ground because i started of doing bhs but i keep tryin not to put my hands down but then i just fall forward, ive been trying to land back tuck for 2 weeks now, any advice?

  • Thats a back tuck hunni no judgement

A back flip in a flic (another word) whn you put your hands on the ground

  • @Itchyisawsome

A backflip and a back tuck are, in my opinion, one and the same thing. In fact, I'd like to be able to do one myself by my 40th birthday, which comes at the end of August. What you're referring to is, I believe called a back handspring.

  • Yo how tall r u man? when i was shorter this kind of stuff was a lot easier lol or seemed like safer haha

  • Man! This is really amazing stuff! I thought this was impossible...but it's not that bad! Thanks! =)

  • posted a year and 1 day ago :P

  • i can do one perfectly fine on a trampoline, but... on the ground im to nervous of landing on my head liek ive seen others do....

  • i'm afraid when a watch back, when i'm doing backflip :/ But why ? please tell me how to not i'm afraid.. i know it a stupid question but how you started for learning backflip and when it you are learned it..?

  • i tried doing this but i would be afraid to land on my neck when doing first step so i mprevised and i just thoought well how but i just bendvery low and do a mini jump backwards u will hit ur head but it wouldnt be high enough to make a harmful inpact well for me then i bent less until i went just standing thats how i learned how on trampoline and im geting over frear to do on ground currently

  • How long does it take to do a perfect back-flip? Three months or more???

  • @Littlelambism

Well, it depends on how athletically gifted and cooridinated you are. For someone like me, who has next-to-no athletic ability, can only jump inches off the ground, and lacks coordination and courage, it's virtually impossible. For someone like Aidan, who athletically, is the opposite to me in every way, it would come right away, since he's incredibly gifted as an athlete, can jump feet of the ground, and has incredible coordination and courage.

  • @cjs3872 well i thought that to im not athletic either but its not really that its just he knows how to get a lot momentum carrying him up thats why he sways his arms up which gets him higher and courage comes from months of practice on flips since its not like this is something we naturally born with being able to just flip with no fear

  • @TheInvader500

But also, when I try my cartwheels or left splits in that ball field, if I see a car coming from either direction, I stop what I'm doing until I know there isn't anyone coming, because I don't want to be seen or noticed doing anything like that. Now, if I had a trampoline, and a place to try backflips on them, which I don't where I live, even I could probably do them on a trampoline within an hour or two. But the only place I can go to try cartwheels is that ball field.

  • @TheInvader500

I don't even have enough confidence to try to do a handstand if my head isn't in contact with the wall, because if I push or kick too hard, I don't know what will happen, except it won't be good, since I don't know how to bail out of a handstand, and I don't have enough back flexibility to kick over into a bridge.

  • @cjs3872 well a handstand is really not like a backflip but if it was like a backhandspring then that i cant do but i can do a backflip but u could locate a gym and see if they have tramps to use wich are usually some where in the area and to bail out of a handstand if u go up into it then if u start fallling just tuck your head in your chest and lower your arms as slowly as you can and if you over kick the worst that could happen well idk but it doestn hurt if u fell from a handstand

  • @TheInvader500

The fact is that, where I live, there really isn't a gym in any close proximity that I know of, which is one reason I use the ball field and surrounding hill, and even if there was, I'd probably be afraid to even go in and ask for anything, much less anyhting specific, such as a trampoline to use, or help on how to bail out of a handstand. There are YMCAs in the city where I live, but they're expensive as you know what, plus the only way I can get around is by bus.

  • @TheInvader500

Having to use a bus to travel significantly limits the places where I can go. Those YMCAs cost about $100 just to register, and anothe $50 per month after you become a member, plus anywhere from $30-$60 a month in bus fare. As for bailing out of a handstand, I overkicked one today and nearly fell out of it, since I have no idea how to bail out of one. That's why I do them uphill, because if I try them downhill, I'm sure to overkick them, which would be disastrous.

  • @Littlelambism

But for a person of relatively average athletic ability, coordination, and courage, I'd say about 2-4 months, if he stays on it. but since I can't do any aerial stuff, including flips, I'm not exactly an expert on the aubject. The 2-4 months in just an estimate for the average person, and nothin more. Of course, it helps to start really young. another reason I could never even attempt one is because I'll be 40 next year. I'm having a hard enough time completing a cartwheel.

  • @cjs3872 either that or just some wheight and age can affect to or medical but thats really it

  • @TheInvader500

And I've got plenty of both age [I'll be 40 next year] and weight [205 lbs.] going against me, even in doing cartwheels, but I've never been coordinated, anyway. I've never really been able to jump, either. I've also had both ankles/lower legs operated on for muscle and tendon lengthening. But I think fear, or getting over it, is somewhat natural. I also know that I have a fear of being seen doing things.

  • dam!! ur fit. how much can you bench and how long?? (if you know) not to be a creep xD

  • What if no trampoline

  • Love the beggining message

  • nice and sexy abs

  • I'm thinking about flipping myself sometime in the next few days, just to see if I can, though it won't be in the air, since I can't jump worth a lick. I haven't tried to flip myself over since I was about your age [I failed to complete a flip then, as well]. I've recently tried some handstands against the wall where I live [I don't have the strength or the courage to attempt one away from the wall], but trying to flip myself will be a whole new experience, but I have to pick the right time.

  • @cjs3872 umm if you want to do that, i reccomend you start off with a front flip and on sand in possible? if not down a hill and make sure your physically and mentally prepared before you do it :) but sounds like a good idea!

  • @urbanrossandich1

Oh sure, but I can't jump, so doing anything in the air is out of the question. The only time I really jumped at all was a couple of weekends ago when I jumped onto the second stair outside where I live whe I had a rare burst of energy I needed to burn, but they are low stairs. And the only place with open real estate near where I live is a school playground, and it wouldn't feel right to go somewhere I don't think I belong, though that playground does have hills.

  • @cjs3872

Plus, I fear that if I get myself in the air, that the crash [notice I didn't say landing] would be bad. Now I have done forward rolls into bed in the last couple of weeks, so an airborne front flip is out of the question, as I don't have a trampoline, either. That's why I say that my only chance of doing a flip of any kind would be a cartwheel or walkover of any kind. Also, I had both lower legs operated on a decade ago for muscle and tendon lengthening.

  • @urbanrossandich1

What sounds like a good idea? And how was the sensation you felt when you flipped yourself over for the very first time, and did so successfully? And yes, that school playground I've been talking about does have hills, but it just wouldn't feel right to go there and burn energy and try to do cartwheels and other stuff like that at a place like that. Plus, I don't exactly have what you would call suitable clothing, since I don't go out in anything other that regular pants.

  • @cjs3872

In fact, I tore a pair of slacks stretching at home in the past five or six days, which proves my point about not having suitable clothing, since I only go out in regular pants. That would be taking a risk. Now I do have sweat pants and shorts [which would inadviseable to wear, as it's getting close to winter time in Baltimore]. I just won't go out in them. Not even in the small backyard where I live. And I wouldn't do anything there anyway, because I could easily be seen by others.

  • @urbanrossandich1

I don't know what the sensation will be when and if I compete a cartwheel or ground filp/walkover. I'm not sure if I'll feel like I've succeeded and want to stop there, or whether, since I would''ve successfully flipped myself over, which I've wanted to do for years, that I'll just feel the urge to want to do it more and more and more. By the way, what sensation did you fell when you did your first flip, whether it was a cartwheel or backflip, or some oter kind of flip?

  • @urbanrossandich1

Actually, I'm probably going to go to that schoo playground/ball field in the new light, loose-fitting sweat-type pants [from Champion] I bought yestedray [if you know what those type of loose-fitting sweat-type pants are called, tell me], and if there's nobody there, I might try some things, possibly the splits, and I may even try to do a carwheel, though I'm making no guarantees.

  • @urbanrossandich1

And if I try to do a cartwheel and succeed, do you think I would feel the urge to do more cartwheels, even do them on a regular basis, or even try something riskier in the future, like walkovers, or even try to flip myself in the air, which I know I can't do, since I can't jump at all? How was the sensation you felt when you flipped for the first time? After all, one of the reasons I want to at least try to do a cartwheel, is that I want to feel that sensation at least once.

  • @urbanrossandich1

Well, I learned that school playground/ball field is, in fact, part of a recreational center. So when I got there today, I did some things. First, I did my left splits, which I did rather comfortably. Then I did some shoulder dislocations, leading with the left arm going back, and the right arm going forward. Then I finally tried a couple of cartwheels. They were only about 45-50 degrees, and I landed with the wrong foot, but I tried them. Maybe I'll do better next time.

  • @urbanrossandich1

Well, I just about did my first perfect cartwheel in that ball field next to the recreation center where I live. I was able to turn muself completely over on two occasions, but couldn't kick my front leg over, so I fell down. But for an overweight man that's nearly 40 to be able to come within an eyelash of doing a couple of perfect cartwheels, is amazing to me.

  • @urbanrossandich1

But I'm probably not going to try any backflips [or frontflips]. After all, I can't jump, and the thought of flipping over in the air backwards at this stage of my life is more than a bit risky. If I was closer to your age, and could jump, I'd definately try it someday, but I'm at too advanced an age to try to flip myself in the air backwards. I'd love to, but that, unlike cartwheels, is a long way beyond my reach.

  • @urbanrossandich1

A couple of questions. First, how do you conquer any fears about flipping backwards if you don't have a trampoline, as I consider it unsafe to use one where I live? I'm also afraid of being seen and noticed by others, so when I go to the field I try cartwheels and handstands on, when I see traffic coming, I stop what I'm about to do. Should I keep stopping what I'm about to do, or go through what I'm about to do anyway and risk being seen and noticed?

  • I would do that but i dont have a trampoline :(

  • could you practice with a bed if yo don't have a trampoline

  • @mineninja2200 I dont have a bed either =( i sleep on a newspaper over concrete ;(

  • dude your good... i cant even do a backflip... but thanks for the tips bro they really helped out!!!

  • nice video! gave me some tips!

  • Christmas eve does not look like that in Norway -.- FML

  • @MrVonTario australia has the best weather

  • @urbanrossandich1

Well, I don't know about Australia having the best weather. Having lived in San Diego for 31 years [I no longer live there], I think the weather there is better overall. but the reason the weather is warm there, as compared to Norway, as MrVonTario mentioned, is simple. In the Southern hemishpere, where Australia is, Christmas is during the summer months, as the seasons in the Southern hemisphere are flipped from the Northern hemisphere.

  • What's the name of the song that starts at 0:38

  • @T3AMFreeFlow there is only one song.

    Got the Rhythm- A. Skillz

  • soo......where can get the "flip" thing can u give me ?;(I)

  • You got abs, and I got man boobs, any advice...Im not that fat btw :3

  • @XCILE625 go to the gym?

  • @MrGeminiwest noooooooooooooooooooo.

  • @XCILE625 xD

  • @XCILE625 eat less move more pretty simple

  • @XCILE625 aha! seems a lot of people want to get into shape... i might make a 'freerunning prograame' and post it up

  • @urbanrossandich1 sounds good! I'll sub to keep up with your videos!

  • @XCILE625 thanks heaps :) 10 minutes untill my next tutorial uploads infact aha :)

  • Hi nice video check out my backflip tutorial

:) and don't to forget to subscribe

  • @NeakyDeaky haha no you dont necessarily have to be ripped to do this... I am 20 pounds over weight and I can do it... (not as clean but I can land) you just have to tuck really hard and lean back

  • good training :D

  • What's the name of the song at 0:39

  • i can't do step 3

i can do back to back etc and front flips with rotations but i just can't do the real backflip :(

    any tips?

    nice vid btw

  • Yeah well, Ryan Higa can frontflip!!!!

  • poda punda

  • it is going back wards that stops me

  • I DID IT!!

  • I just cant get my arse over! I'm not afraid of hurting myself at all, I think I'm just not felxable/coordinated enough.

Either that or there is not enough spring in my trampoline. When I bounce on my back I can only get over to my knees, never to my feet. :/

  • So i understand your method. I'm not saying its a bad method, but what about the people without a trampoline?

  • But i dont have a trampoline at home.. :(

  • i just bought a trampoline and set it up.. and im too scared to fall on my butt let alone my back >_<!!!

  • what if u backflip perfect on a trampoline but ur to scared to do it on tha grass

  • @knightslayer249 then get a spotter :)

  • eh i like tht music wat is it and i dont have a trampoline and i im i keep ging side ways because i cant get the jump i need so i need help

  • eh i like thtmusic wat isit and i dont have a trampoline and i im i keep ging side ways because i cant get the jump i need so i need help

  • i can do theem on trampolines but im afraid to try on regular ground because i think i cant jump high enough and im gonna land on my head because when i try front flips i land on my back

  • Comment removed

  • check out my backflip montage :D

  • ok i learnd to do a standing backflip on the trampoline... how much harder is it to do on the ground

  • nice tutorial, if i were more intersted in acrobatic stuff i would be subscribed to you, maybe after i watch more videos

  • I don´t have a trampoline (how do I pactrice this?!)

  • When I learned back flips on the trampoline, I used very poor form to learn it. I didn't give myself time to think about it, I just jumped up to the front of my trampoline and put as much power into my jump as possible and threw my head back. (I know and knew then that, that was not the right or necessarily smart thing to do) but I got the full rotation from the monstrous jump. That got me over fear, then I worked on form. I can do them completely straight up and down now onto the same spot :D!

  • lik how do i gain rotation because i did everything but im not gainng rotation i dont even make it to my head...

  • @J5fan2 you may not think your scared, but subconsciously you are and that is the reason it's happening... if you had a foam pit or a pool you would get around i bet... you just need to commit

  • Help Please! When i do it on a trampoline i end up landingfurther forward from where i jumped and hit the net! i either jump too soon or dont pull from the tuck too late

  • @fiach100 lol so your doing a gainer? focus on jumping up and leaning back throwing your arms behind your head rather than setting forwards and throwing your body forwards

  • @urbanrossandich1 Yeah i guess your right! Thanks For the help, I'll definitely try that.

  • @fiach100 =) gainers are way harder than backflips so try to keep them up too!

  • @urbanrossandich1 Haha, I'm becoming a pro by accident! :s oh and i kneed myself in the face when i jumped onto back my on the trampoline.

  • @fiach100 haha =P avoid kneeing yourself in the face

  • @urbanrossandich1 XD Newz I can Backflip Thnx Dude!?!!

  • @urbanrossandich1 hey i dont have a trampoline

  • @kyledrlacson123 use your neighbors car

  • @TheUnknownGrower looool

  • @fiach100 Flip later, it's all about the heigh flip as you're going up not as you're leaving the ground

  • @monkey1998jsm a mattress might help? :) x

  • By the way this is the best video on YouTube ever!!!! :P :)

  • I can't seem to flip over :L any advice?

  • this was really helpful but i just wish i had the guts to try it lol xD check my video of me and my brother trying a backflip

  • i wonder how many people got injured after watching this video

  • @mylifebeCrisPy96 try tucking hard that should prevent your problem

  • SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!! when i do my back flips i jump up as high as i can but dont lean back, i tuck at my highest point but because im not leaning back i dont land it because i dont have enuf rotation, when you start off with the jump off a backflip do you tuck at your highest point or do you jump up and back?

  • Comment removed

  • does this work for fat people?

  • @96ihatehaters i'm sure it would, because you're used to your body weight, you will be able to do it probz.. i don't think weight matters

  • Comment removed

  • @Smiley53Miley yes on both accounts.

  • can you break your neck doing this?

  • i can do a backflip on a trampoline i'm go to try on the ground but my real first backflip was in the pool you go stand next to the pool and step by step you backflip in pool
