I miss martina too. she very rarely played a bad match even when she lost she was so consistent and there was usually some great tennis. Unlike maria and the williams who have some good matches but some really awful ones too.

It amazers me how commentator's kept picking on martina's serve, its how you place them not always pace, and this game and many others proved she was a great player there seems to be a certain group that want to put her down instead of giving her the credit she deserves, for I and many others would love to see her back. one last thing the mark that was looked at was not where the ball landed and Graf knew that, that was why she went around the net to show the right mark to the umpire.

I think Henin is an upgrade of Hingis.She had Hingis' somewhat missing ingredient: more power. Nevertheless Martina was amazing champ. Was it not for her forced retirement she would have added some spice to the game. Can you image how much better would the tour have been this year if she was playing???

Besides an amazing game Martina achieved another great accomplishment: she quitened Sharapova down!!! Maria had to concentrate so hard she refrained from annoying shrieks which we otherways have to endure at every match she plays. Great job, Martina, I miss you even more now!

Hingis is the best player ever in my opinion but unfortunately she doesn't have the physical power to beat hardhitters all the time. But she was by far the cleverest player and I don't even watch women's tennis anymore now she has stopped playing. Shame shame shame. You can't group Hingis with those two! She is a class above the other them, she had a complete game, and she attacked. She was 'lucky' in '97-'98, but Sanchez and Jankovic would never be able to dominate like she did, even in the absecence of a super power. Hingis was a great foil for all the huge hitters, was always great to see one end pounding the cover off the ball and then Martina doing what she could to keep them off balance. far better than dirty sanchez and Janko

I've seen Martina and Jelena play each other. It's almost a mirror match up but there ARE differences. Jelena hits harder and has better foot speed, but Martina's net game, touch, anticipation, and court smarts was far better. Unfortunately, in today's game power trumps all and yeah, Martina had a losing record against Jelena in the end. I think Aggie Radwanska is the closest thing to Martina in today's game, but Aggie has slightly better forehand.

aggie also had better power, able to flatten shots (something martina never did, or RARELY), hingis has what you said and a way better serve, radwanska's serve majority is just a slice serve to start the point, and even at times slower than hingis', the other sister's serve is worse
