  • Прикольно!!! лет 20 в нее не гамал! =))) крутая игрушка имхо была!!!

  • The manic miner I remember was plain white

  • One person dont understand good old times with ZX Spectrum :-)

  • Try the original version, and start to cry! In the original 19th level, everytime the solar beam hits you, you loose a lot of energy (air)... This version is a kids adaptation...

  • Well done - I've never - in 28 years of trying - got beyond Sky Lab... I bet you were panicking when you lost all but your last man on The Final Cavern!

  • In Computing we finished a unit of work last week.My Teacher-the Boss that he is-pulls out a Commadore 64 for us to play.Nobody beat the first level. :(

  • You are the Manic Master! ;)

  • dis shyt controllling my my mind

  • Bellissimo gioco di quando avevo otto anni!! Cmq bastardo alla fine ha perso tutte le vite ! Forse nn voleva farci vedere la fine?..ahahah...cmq complimenti!!....

  • They also made a gba version of this but its probly the rarest gba game in existence

  • Just thought I add for those that want infinite live on the C64.

Stop the cassette loading the game after 6 mins 30 sec.

    Then, Poke 16384, 255

  • Awesome, still my favourite game, 1st played it though on the C64

  • how come the enemies dont run out of air?

  • Oh God, I'm soooo jealous!! Good job!:D

  • AH the TOILET BOWLS I REMEMBER NOW!!!!

  • I thought you couldn't complete this game because of a glitch or something.

  • I hope it was freeware, even at that time, since it's a 1997 game you're playing and it's daaaarn nasty to look at or hear...On this run I actually got not much to say than kudos :)...

  • That's some awesome gaming right there - never got beyond level 14 meself, though I've got pretty slick at the earlier levels (speed run vid here: youtube.com/watch?v=F9DKj0z4pe8)

Is this the retrospec version? I play the 2004 version and yours seems faster - plus more points.

  • Oh my, memories coming back... I used to play this game on my old C64 all the time, but I think I never got past level 4... and I don't think you couldv'e done a speenrun on that old machine, compared to your run here it seems like slow motion. But great job and thanks for posting this up here!

  • Only completed this game once on my Spectrum+, and it took ages. Shame on you for creating the tension on the last level by deliberately dying until you were on your last life!!

  • During the load up of the game (spectrum) pause the tape and enter the code below for infinte lives.

25 poke 35136,0 (ENTER) (RUN) (ENTER)

  • i can only get 2 the 6th lv

  • @wolfmajickid

  • Easiest level: The Uranium Works. Hardest: the one with the fat women... Oh what's it called?

  • lol remember it well...top game!

  • If you still have an old Speccy, there is a way to select levels,

On the first level, type in the word TYPEWRITER - this used to put a boot in the corner of the screen. By selecting various combinations of numbers, you coud go to various levels - mostly guesswork.

A similar thing could be done with its sequel, Jet Set Willy - the only difference was that you had to type in the word WRITETYPER to invoke the cheat.

  • This version of Manic Miner seems to be slightly inaccurate. In the original 1983 version the Miner Willy sprite has to overlap an object by at least one pixel to pick it. Here being right next to the object (touching, but not overlapping) seems to be enough. This has huge impact on some levels: Ore Refinery for example is way too easy this way. You are not supposed to be able to pick the objects just by walking on top of them.

  • didnt know the game had that many levels, i only got half way thru, real tuff game.......

  • @FeNsTa In the older days video games were much much tougher than they are today. Take for example Prince of Persia, a really tough game (I have a speedrun of it). There was a remake made for XBOX of the game, the thing was that it was way easier. The remake has a checkpoint in it when you die. The original has no checkpoints.

  • OH MY GOD...i remember this. I loved this game!!!!! It is hard though...MUCH HARDER than you make it look (if this is genuine). I never got past level 4....well not until I got the cheat for infinite lives. Specy rules

  • Hahaha I remember I had this on my old win 3.1 IBM machine (Which I still have) on floppy....Epic fail, could never get past about the 10th level (although I was only about 7 years old at the time)

I can bet you were getting really fustrated at the final level hahaha... Was this the first take?

    WELL DONE ANYWAYS!

    Mat=]

  • @cheggerz666

This was my first take. I just practiced Manic Miner until I was good with it. Then I just decided to make a run for it. I am sure I can make this video MUCH faster. First of all I can get past level five so much faster and avoid the errors on the last level (which is actually the easiest level in the game).

  • man, good job on the warehouse!

  • Gaming perfection(imo)

  • legend of a game, i used 2 play this on the zx128, would do it with my eyes shut these days but i remember freakin out at it years ago

man that was a while back lol

  • brings back great childhood memories

  • That was one of the most impresive things i've seen in a long time!! 10 years it took me to get as far as the power gen room! could never get past it tho! LOL at the end, thought you was goin to blow it!

  • Level 20 is one of the easiest levels.

  • Thank you for this video! i used to play MM way back in the days when it hitted the shelves, on my ZX Spectrum 48K :)

Never finished it (without trainers), my top reach was/is the Solar Power Generator :)

    Cheers
