I'm sorry for comparing this to vampire diaries but this show and that with the brother relationships are so similiar. I remembered a scene where Damon and Stefan were shot and dying after Liz Forbes shot them and Damon looked over at an unconscious Stefan. Then this scene here when Sam threw himself into the pit, the last thing he wanted to see was Dean. Sorry, I like to compare the two shows.

This storyline was fantastic by itself but this last part was so gut-wrenching---watching all the flash backs of the 2 of them---OMG---how much can a person take!! You've already seen Bobby in a broken heap, Cass is liquified, poor Deans face-UGH!! Then Sams love 4 his brother followed by his sacrifice. SUPERB WRITING, ACTING, ETC.

@PlaymakerSeries A-FUCKING-MEN. Those were good for the starting seasons, but don't give the audience a four-course meal and then expect them to be satisfied going back to snacks after that. If it's a matter of wanting to bring the show back to strictly Sam and Dean, that's entirely possible to do with keeping an overarching storyline. There's no need to reduce the show back to a salt-n-burn EVERY GODDAMN EPISODE.

@PlaymakerSeries The first episode of season 7 was excellent, and other than Death's Door, they have all been crap since then. The self contained monster of the week eps have to go...a few here and there are fine, but week after week is no good. They never should've written Cas out, they should have run with the storyline of him being taken over by the leviathan's and wanting to cleanse the earth of all gods creations. THAT would have been epic. There's still 9 episodes left, we can only hope!

@scooter1977 season 7 has harkened back to season 1 and kinda2. with the monsters of the week with the main villian mentioned from time to time. cas was NOT supernatural-DEAN and SAM are. and i happen to love season 7-back to the basics which is what the writers wanted for the brothers to have to go thru this season. i think maybe you need to go rewatch season 1 and 2 to get the feel of what made this show so great.

@clmco Seasons 4 and 5 were when the show was great imo. Season 6 was hit and miss, and I am certainly a fan of many of the earlier eps in seasons 1-3, but it wasn't until the angel and apocalypse storyline was introduced that the show really hit its finest moments. Nothing in season 7 has compared to even the weakest eps of seasons 4 and 5 so far, save for Meet the New Boss and Death's Door. It's ok though, I'm hoping the writers have a plan. :)

@PlaymakerSeries Well, in the case of S1, and consequently a lot of shows, story arcs wouldn't go for multiple seasons, they would just be in a single season ending with the final episode. In the first season, they had "freak of the week" episodes, but you still couldn't miss a lot of them because they had elements that progressed the arc. Only a few episodes were only about the arc, but that was necessary when you only have so much you want to reveal.

@waterlily85 Lucifer was annoyed with dean because before dean interrupted he was trying to persuade Michael not to fight however he didn't actually believe Michael would fall for it because it was written that they'd battle and Lucifer would have rather gotten it over with and faught right there but dean hit Michael with holy oil and sent him away which prolonged the battle and agitated Lucifer...he knew deans plan to try to trap him and would have rather took his chances fighting Michael.

Besides, if I remember correctly the episode ended with Sam watching Lisa, Dean and Ben and that's exactly why I liked it so much. I have a soft spot for open endings and Sam watching over his brother while everyone thought he'd died just seemed to be a perfect way for the story to end. You do not have to agree with me, but I'd appreciate it if you tolerated my opinion.

@ScottCStclair I think that, when you are possesed by an angel, you get some kind of healing factor. Jimmy (Castiel's vessel) was aware he had been shot and stabbed more than once, but he was only close to die when he was hurt and without Castiel.
