  • The pride of Staunton, Virginia!

  • Since I graduated in 1967, I've always substituted that year for '57. It still fits the class.

  • my grandfather was class of 57.by the way is it odd that I'm fourteen and I listen to this

  • @avatarfangirl11 no, i'm 14 and love the statlers

  • was lew the lead singer ofthis song

  • When they ended i was young, but I love this stuff, and so do all 4 of the kids in our home.I know it is because we love America and this music uplifts our God given country.

  • i have a 1979 coachman mini homewith an eight track am going to try to get it fixed i still have eight tracks

  • I've gone on to prefer music that might be considered edgier and more modern than the Statlers, but they are an inextricable part of my childhood. This performance took place in the year I was born, and until about age 12 our family's record player and 8-track had the Statlers in heavy rotation. So many of their songs send me into nostalgic reverie. I might be an indie rock, electronica and hip-hop head now, but I do know that the Statlers were never quite as good after Lew's departure.

  • @MauryDann73 Drank the kool-Aid didn't ya sucka ?

  • This song is so depressing to me. Not because it's a bad song, but because it reminds me of all the time I've wasted, and how I am in my own class of '57.

  • @bigtymer01rk maybe you havent wasted it, you just think you have. theres probably a ton of stuff you think was pretty bad or meaningless, but guess what thats life. have another cold one :)

  • I was ten years old in 1975 when my mom bought their Greatest Hits vinyl record. I listened to it at least once a week. I still have the record but haven't played it recently. Their music is timeless and Dailey and Vincent honored them with their CD Dailey and Vincent Sing The Statler Brothers

  • freddie took his life... that's so sad

  • i'm twelve...But i love these guys thanks to my dad

  • I hit the dislike button by mistake. Sorry. I love the song. Can you remove my "dislike" please?

  • And I married Linda Marie. My class of 57 has met every 5 years since and the locals meet every year in between. I have always thought our class was special and this song has been played at many reunions. Thank you S Bs.

  • 100% true to life. This could be a biography of the class of any year.

  • I wasn't even born until 1992, but I love this band. I grew up listening to this kind of music and this is my dad's favorite band.

  • I started school in 57-- do I also qualify as a member of the class of 57? Some of us DIDN"T want to change the world with our great works and deeds- but it changed anyway-- a lot, and a lot of it not for the good. Anyway, great song and thanks for posting it!!

  • Gee, my mom was a junior in high school when this performance was aired!! I was not born yet but I love the statlers.

  • That was also the last time anybody said "gee". I'm kidding. I love the Statlers, too. I think that Elizabeth is my all-time fave. They're all beautiful, though.

  • This is my all time favorite song of theirs.
