  • How about this for an idea:

We fire 80% of workers in the financial sector field ( meaning: people who play with other people's hard earned money)

And they can re-train in the construction and medical industries ( maybe they can learn carpentry, welding, nursing )

I think we woud be "safer".

  • Of coarse theres inflation,.I used to buy a gallon of water from Walmart for $.49, now its $.83,. Progresso soups at 2.89 used to go on sale now & again for a dollar each, no more. Only if you consitantly bought an item and know the price, you will realize that prices have gone up,. on certain items for whatever reason,. but a gallon of tap water from wallmart?,. its gotten closer to a gallon of poland spring so I'll pay the 1.12 for poland spring,. and walmart can keep their value brand at $.83

  • Hey is Peter a keyboard player? Is that a mutron modulator behind him?...maybe I could could call him for some gigs...

  • Its very simple. The blame is to be put squarely on the shoulders of the american people. They have voted in people that truly believe that the current tax code is sound and without flaws. Rich people will most certianly leave and not create jobs if their taxed to much. Jobs dont come from poor people. They come from rich people. If the rich are not incentivised to hire more employees than unimployment will continue. This nation is way too far in debt, but thats what the American people want.

  • I guess you have to be one of Peter's clients for him to say something substantial. He always skates the surface.

  • when you attack someone directly instead of logically or empirically rebutting their comment, you immediately lose all credibility.

  • dude you must be thinking in double speak--whence the credibility of your statement? Did you expect to engage in a proper and honest dialectic with your antagonism? Me surmising the quality of your father's sperm by the fruit it bore is at least empirical. Your opinion rests on a presupposition that an investor, when blogging, will give you investment advice. This is flawed, however why else your comment?

how on earth could someone respond in a solely dialectic manner to a comment such as yours

  • He's becoming boring to listen to. I know he has to be a broken record because nobody on t.v. seems to understand him. But for the relatively intelligent people on earth, he's not saying much we don't already know by now.

The political talk and the change of his posture and tone is annoying.

  • Bear market rally is over.. Go short on banks again and sleep well

  • Schiff preaches Gold right? Gold has gone up drastically in price since 2000, oif you followed Schiff's anti-inflationary badvice you would have made a bigger killing than than the so called killers doing the boom-bust era who in relaity lost everyhting and only beneifed temporarily from government credit expansion that was doomed to failure.

  • No schiff preaches foreign stocks.

  • Inflation already really bad, damn bad, and it''s only getting worse the CPI is a dishonest rigged "calculator" scheme that doesn't include oil prices etc. Its bullshit. Inflation has already caused about a 40-50% in crease in prices of goods. Peopl have delved into their savings pulling money on new loans, investment, and accounts that WALLST and the liek use to make wealth. The stock markets are being propped up with ullshit inflation numbers and Fed injections that will soon BUST

  • Imagine how interesting these vlogs are going to be when Peter is a senator.

  • Anyone smell a credit card or retail bailout?

  • We already had one of those. It was Bush's stimulus.

  • That was funny. Here's $500, go buy a Ferrari.

  • And to think the so-called business news channels still give him and others like him (e.g. Taleb, Faber) a ton of crap about how the economy isn't as bad as it seems.

  • Shouldnt we be long dollars while the truth of the US consumer gets out?

  • VOTE FOR Schiff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Actually, I wish I'd considered Schiff's economic advice for my personal investments in '07. It would really help with college expenses.

  • why, china is right where it was then. brazil, the dollar etc. listening to him in february wouldve been better.

  • The problem is the inflation in the pipeline won't start to take effect and cause much pain for at least a year, so people aren't going to trace the cause.

  • itll get dirty but hang in there. Great videos!

  • I thnk the DOW is going to plummet soon!

  • i'm going to keep sending you money for your senate run! keep it up!

  • best wishes we need more stable people in office

  • No we don't dummy. We need to get ride of offices all together, you retard!

  • when do you think gold will break the 1000 mark?

  • Never. You're lucky its at it's current high right now.

  • until the DOW is at 500, i am not buying stocks anymore

  • Make it a Dow/Gold 1:1 ratio, instead. Schiff says it's a better indicator of the value of the Dow.

  • A 1:1 ratio would completely crash the worlds economy. Ive heard very reasonable arguements for a fractional ratio though. But totally agree with you on principle

  • A voice in the wilderness

  • running from the USA is not the same as short the USA LOL

  • 'Shorting' stocks is 'playing' the market. It is the literal equivalent of gambling. Value investing is putting money into companies that show good prospects for future growth and earnings. It is a totally different philosophy of investing. It is those who 'play' the market that both drive up bubbles and loose their shirts when it bursts. 'Players' serve no useful function. Value investors perform a valuable service by increasing the ability of 'value' companies to generate capital.

  • You claim to be a "value" investor, but unless you stick to the success of a company you are no different than a short sale investor. If you run from the USA, claiming "no value"...same as short sale.

Also, what is a ' vialble, more productive" employment for the displaced workers from all the retailers put out of business by "walmart".

Foreign stocks...do brokers disclose all / hidden taxes by other countries to the investors?. Is China a tax cutting country?

  • Peter does 'buy and hold'.

Ultimately those displaced workers are going to have to find work making stuff. That means industries are going to have to start up in the US, and for that to happen the US is going to have to get more competitive with regard to wages, among other things. The US recovery is going to hurt. People are going to have to learn to make do with less, like much of the world, until such a time as the US gets back on it's feet.

  • Thank you Peter!

  • If you believe in what he's saying, send him ten bucks! Put a little bit of steam into your beliefs, folks. It feels good to know you've actually done something for the country to help forward those beliefs.

  • Eventhough the Fed is printing money like crazy, the economy is still shrinking rapidly. There is no inflation. Until all the holes are filled and people starts spending, the USD is gaining instead of losing purchasing power. Traders may be way ahead of themselves for getting away from the USD yet.

  • Gaining? Are you inebriated?

  • Don't you know that inflation is the printing of money?

  • No, inflation is when things getting more and more expensive. Where do you see inflation right now?

  • No, inflation is the printing of money. It causes the dollar to lose it's value which leads to higher prices.

  • False. Focusing on real and nominal prices instead. It will perhaps help you to understand what inflation really is. Feds money supply is the catalysator, real (not nominal) prices increase is a symptom, systemic collapse and death by starvation is the result. Jefferson was right - banks are enemies of humanity and biggest threat to republic.

  • the volume is weak if you don't have any sort of amplifiers or amplifying sound card. All I've got are USB Headphones on this system and it's barely audible over my background noise.

  • Is Schiff still appearing on Glenn Beck? He would do well to stop going on that show. Even Beck's advertisers are abandoning Beck for being an insane lunatic (Google: "Advertisers deserting Fox News' Glenn Beck").

If Schiff keeps appearing on Beck, he'll be a victim of guilt by association.

  • Fuck-off you liar!!!! Fox has lost no advertisers since dicks like you started your boycott campain.

  • @Downfacingdog

    Oh, aren't you defensive?

I never said Fox's advertisers were abandoning Fox. I said Beck's advertisers were abandoning Beck. The advertisers told Fox that they do not want their ads aired on Beck's program, so Fox moved them to other programs. Nonetheless, it's still a testament to the fact that that advertisers do not want to be associated with the lunacy of Beck, and neither should Schiff.

My statement was made in Schiff's best interests. If you had a brain, you'd see that.

  • these P.S. blah blah blah videos are become long and drawn out. theres more sincerce comentary elsewhere.

  • If Peter keeps making these videos during the campaign he will WIN hands down!

  • He will have a chance of winning. He will have enough money to win. Peter simply doesn't lie. Peter's father wrote books on real economics, so Peter got a very early start on the truth. He has taken that knowledge and refined it. He is one of the most clear speakers I have ever seen. He adds analogs often to help viewers that are new to economics. This is going to be fun. I can't wait for the next money bomb.

  • 1 billion $ shares sold by insiders over last 15 days

toppers- green hill, amazon and microsoft

[yes, our dear beloved bill gates]

    what does this show?

Run Run Run....Here comes the tidal wave

  • This so called left-wing blogger is using exactly the same propaganda/smear tactics the MSM corporate shills have used against Schiff in the past. Remember the other blogger who wrote that Schiff was losing money for his clients? The fact that Schiff is being attacked from all angles is a good indication that he is gaining popularity & success.

  • These bloggers want to make a name for themselves. In Western politics, it's always a red team vs. blue team situation. The blogger wants to put Peter on the opposing mainstream team so that he can "criticize" Peter. They have a political agenda is all that I'm saying.

  • Glad to hear you are leaning toward the senate run!

  • Audio sounds fine to me; nice video.

  • Shame people living outside US cannot contribute to his campaign.

  • Hey - your normal voice is back .. i like it ..it's very convicing.. just be you.. that's what got you to where you are now

  • the more important issue are the crooks who have gained over a manipulation of the system.

Until that is addressed everything is moot.

It's actually unpatriotic not to address this corruption.

  • BTW, what crooks. Please identify precisely who you are talking about. The FED? The government taking our taxes AND reaping additional benefit from inflation (the destruction of our savings and our current wages)? I agree it's unpatriotic to allow this stuff to go unadressed.

  • Goldman Sachs, all high level employees, doubled for transfer to the Fed, Like Geithner. Evry fed employee that claims not to know where the money went. Then the Pelosi's (hubby and wife), Dodd, B. Frank, Franklin Raines..any congressman not a co-sponsor for HR 1207. B. Boxer, Specter, and all the others that run out smiling when you drag a bag of money through their office.

  • the truth is that America is in deep trouble no matter what! The 5 million jobs lost last year are NOT coming back for years. People who hold CC are going to continue to use them and the government is going to continue to grow. Peter can keep talking untill he is blue in the face but nothing will change untill he is in office. However, i seriously doubt, he can get past the senate, because what he says is so scarry to the "norm". Look at Ron Paul (I love him) , he is too scarry.

  • I agree fully, but you can't just sit back and not try. That's been the problem so far. On the other hand, I really think people are starting to see that Ron Paul should have been the man to go against Obama. I don't know if he'll run again, but I'm hoping Ron Paul is to Regan as Obama is to Jimmy Carter.

  • agreed

  • I beginning to see that logic, and good play on people. Good comment.

  • Peter has an incredible understanding of the economy and how things really work. Whether he wins or not, he will be getting a lot of air time and teaching thousands or millions of people the truth. He has more money already than any of the other Republican candidates. And Dodd will get destroyed in any debate. Peter can teach his knowledge to anyone. He is completely secure and uses only facts and sound logic in his debates. Arguing against Peter is extremely difficult. His is so honest.

  • agreed. Peter and Paul would be the American dream. I think a lot of people are waking up and really getting raedy for change, but I fear the majority are too comfortable saying they want change and accepting the same old bs and claiming and rejoicing that we now have it.

  • I guess it's also inevitable that 'stick um up!' will be a career move for a number of the unemployed, right?

    Here's my yet unanswered question:

If Americans aren't buying, where is China storing all that cheap junk?

The streets are empty of protesters and therefore this is the government everyone must want.

  • Everyone is trying to prepare and survive.. the streets will fill soon.

  • How can you save money if you can't make money? I lost my job. I barely spent money and now I'm running low on savings. When I run out of savings and my unemployment benefits are done, I'll be on the streets. If people don't buy products, employers cut back on employees. I don't understand his logic here. What we need is people spending as long as its not on credit. Maybe the problem is that what we foresee as normal spending is actual debt spending.

  • The unemployed would transition to more productive jobs. After they get jobs then they would be able to save more.

  • You share a flat with a roommate, or two, or three. You loose the car, get a bicycle. Learn to cook simple foods, stop eating out, make your lunches. Buy second hand clothing dirt cheap. And you get another job if you are unemployed. You lower the wage you expect in order to get it, that or you prepare to work longer or harder. And having done all that, you save money. Because you cannot trust the government to take care of you. They are the ones who are messing everything up.

  • "and you get another job if you are unemployed".

I assume you are not unemployed right now. Your basic options now are to pay Cutco or some other BS place in order for you to sell their knives.

I can't even get a freaking job at McDonalds. I've applied throughout the country and nothing. If there are so many people applying for open positions right now that they put job openings on a site like monster for a day and they take it down because of too many applicants.

  • Then your option is to make your own job. Start thinking entrepreneurially. What need exists that you can fill that is not currently being adequately filled? Even if there are other people working in that niche, you can compete by either offering a lower price or a superior service for the same price. I've been self employed for the last fifteen years, it is very doable. 'Getting a job" is not your only option.

  • Agreed! I just wish the Gov would give me a few million to help with my company's growth. I guess I have to do it the old fashion way...I have to be SMART and creative.

  • Make sure your contributions/contributors are 100% "clean." This is one way the left will trap you palinize you. Good luck.

You also need a catch phrase, like "Integrity we can believe in."

  • Peter, please put more descriptive tags in your videos! If someone types "Peter Schiff" in the search, your videos will not show up in the results because "peter" is nowhere in the tags, title, or description.

  • So glad I gave money to his campaign....he is the man in my eye...and I am a woman!...and money savvy....

  • Why don't you use a better camera? You would look better.

  • re inflation, i know that gb is printing money. An know, i'm not saying glenn beck is a counterfeiter. ;) i think all the major european economies are using 'quantitative easing'. that might create artificial security in the dollar for the present coz i know that gb has to pay it back national deb big time eg 50% top rate and VAT raised to 20%.

  • If American's don't shut off the tvs and step away from the corporate run media.. they will never understand what you're saying. Why do you think you never hear.. "now is the time to save!" Don't spend .. etc.. etc.. The country pushes the people to spend.. it's the American thing to do. Americans won't wake up out of their stupors until it costs 1million dollars for a carton of milk. :) Only my opnion of course but hehe.. let's watch and see.

  • Peter Schiff can I get your autograph? You rock man!

  • Peter Schiff for Connecticut Senator!!!

  • Comment removed

  • awesome

  • I talked to the producer from "America's Nightly Scoreboard" on Fox Business. He seems willing to have you on more often. You should call them and get on there.

  • Well said

  • tells the truth, easy to understand - wow unheard of. Now for Congress.

  • SCHIFF IS RIGHT!

  • The Keyensians will always think that they are right because they are the ones who want to control everything and who have no belief in freedom.

Keep it up Peter, we're reigniting freedom one mind at a time.

  • Just keep telling the truth Peter.

Anything that requires you to compromise that, ain't worth holding on to (that includes political offices).

  • I agree 100%.

    Hae a good weekend Peter.

  • Go Peter!

  • you dont like it you love it

  • I think he just runs out of breath before he finishes his sentences.

  • somebody tap Peter on the back so he can burp properly :)

  • Don't worry about the left wing smear campaign, they are doing it to all Americans these days. And they will reap what they sow.

  • Schiff likes...facts.

  • Almost everyone likes facts and that's how it should be, however, most economists look at the wrong facts. Peter Schiff, however, looks at the facts that matter and that is why he is so accurate in his predictions.

  • Keep up the good work Peter.

  • Left Wing vs Right Wing is nothing more than believing the world is flat. Its time to throw out the stupid Labels once and for all...

  • And I know for a fact Peter that you would of ran as a Liberal if Dodd was a Republican, party means nothing. Just spread the real message of freedom, as usual.

  • i love that you post, you may be a us senator, and you relate personally with the people. Its awsome.I think one post a week is plenty.

The 3 times i tried the market,87 after the crash, crashed even more,01 right before the penny crash, and 08 when th eworld crashed.I dont know what to do with my 80 grand. :(

  • creten69, just tell me next time you invest in the market so I know when to get out.

  • 3:41 to 3:51 acid reflux? Why does he always do this?

  • I cant stop laughing at this. I thought the same thing when I saw this but you hotliinking it is killing me. I love the guy but he has to evaluate his diet.

  • I went back and clicked the hotlink over and aver and was laughing too. He does this all the time.

  • Help to get Peter on the CHARLIE ROSE show!

    Email: charlierose at pbs org

(add "Peter Schiff" in the subject line)

  • thanks, pete

  • If I was to invest with Peter...what would he have me be doing right now most likely?

    I'm already 50% in metals.

    I have another $30,000. I'm unsure.

  • can never have enough rmb, imo

  • More than 150 publicly traded U.S. lenders own nonperforming loans that equal 5 percent or more of their holdings, a level that former regulators say can wipe out a banks equity and threaten its survival.

  • donate everyone

  • Of course, the downside of this vicious cycle is that dropping retail sales will cause greater unemployment, which will further curtail consumer spending, which will cause more unemployment, and so on. As for replacement jobs from lost retail (and other types of jobs) I don't believe that there are sufficient jobs to meet the demand. Of course, another stimulus plan will be introduced and more debt will accumulate. The upside is that the US will be tapped out at last. That's a good thing!

  • commercial property is next .

if the government had given the $13Trillion to the American People instead of the banks every man women and child in the US would have received $40k.

And there's another $10 to $13 Trillion on the horizon.

It's amazing we are taking this all so quietly - the streets are still empty

  • commercial property is shit, then when does inflation happen? Wouldnt this screw commodities?

  • Unless there is rapid and deep deflation. A complete collapse of US asset values will make that happen.

  • What do you call the tea parties? I KNOW there were at least 50,000 people in TX, and there were 25,000 in Atlanta alone. I'm pretty sure there were over a million people out on April 15th, but because it was dispersed, the media ignored it, or tried to make fun of it or insulted all those who took part. There are just too many people who assume the govt knows what they are doing, but I think this is turning around.

  • Ultimately, the tea-baggers (HAHAHA!) don't have the powers of the Treasury or the Congress. I don't think they even have influence on Wall Street. The prevailing mindset is to tap out the Chinese and leave them on the hook. What's the worse that can happen? China pushes for repayment and the Obama lionizes the Chinese as a threat to national security. All Americans will rally around Obama in the face of the Chinese enemy. China will be left holding the bag.

  • The media makes fun of people in tea parties because they are the same people in the republican party that pushed for war and the patriot act. When schiff went to the tea parties and talked about ending the war and cutting the military he was booed off the stage. The TEA party people are the republicans who caused teh problems but are now pissed cuz they are not in power

  • Tea-baggers (Hard to drop that one) represent that one group in the GOP who are driven more by emotion than reason. They supported the war in Iraq because it was a war and the US was going to win. Then, that war became a crusade against Islamic extremism. For some, it's a chance to convert the muslim to Christianity before the "Rapture". This also the same group (some of whom) voted for Obama because they were drawn to his preacher oratory. These people are out to lunch.

  • So bearmare,

How do you know what a Tea-bagger is? Did you go to any of the rallies and find out for yourself?

I have been to some of the rallies and I am not in one category that you stated. In fact, many of the people there don't belong to any of your categories.

  • I saw one tea-bag rally and it looked...of no consequence. Waving signs and hoping the media catches your message is not going to help your cause. Save for the diehards who watch FoxNews, the cause will go no where. In end, much more can be accomplished by just letting the whole thing crash to Earth. The US will be completely tapped out and without credit. Is that such a bad thing? No longer able to be the world's policeman, the US can be concerned with its own well being and future.

  • plucault,

You are incorrect about the people at the tea parties. The people there are not one group, there are several groups involved. Your statement is simply wrong. If you are getting your information from the network news, you need to look elsewhere to find the facts.

  • thanks for your views peter.

  • thanks, Pete

  • what we need to do is deal with the crooks at Goldman Sachs!

  • anyone running for office worth their weight and wishing to be trusted should talk about these guys and their dirty dealings

  • You do have proof! Crashproof! In all seriousness, Rand and yourself as time runs nearer to election will have a donation/support force equal or greater than that of any corporate or special interest groups. I'm in the liberal swamp land in California and I can say "I'm a proud donor!" You have my support.

  • Why do you defend yourself so vigously? If you did not give them the time of day, would put you so far above them.

  • That's what it takes to succeed in politics. The "above it all" attitude doesn't win voters.

If Peter doesn't defend himself, who will? It's an uphill battle to get your foot into the door of Washington.

  • volume is fine for me.

  • donate everyone

  • LOL acid reflux maybe?

  • wow, I wuz just keeding. I like the Schiff. wat's wit all da thumbs down?

  • with a fucked up name like that there should be no surprise why you're getting thumbs down LoL

  • What's the prob? Your mom likes it.

  • no, actually my gay neighbour likes it...

if you want i can give you his address

  • You live in a gay community? More power to you.

  • Schiff can you do a favor and raise the volume of your recordings? I wanna hear what you gotta say! Way too low.

  • just turn up your volume

I'd rather the volume be too low than clipped

  • And on occasion it's WAY TOO LOUD - but mostly it's pretty good.

  • No Peter don't change it, the volume is normal.

Low volume is almost always better than distortion.

  • Normal volume isn't distortion. This is not normal volume. I think you need to learn what distortion is and how it's caused.

Have my audio @ 100% on youtube/windows, and my setup, and its barely good enough to watch.

  • My audio sounds just fine. The problem is on your end. Get better speakers.

  • Ok Now either you're lying, exaggerating, or are just that plain stupid.

Yea on my laptop right now, I COULD go upstairs to my 505w 5.1 system and crank it, but I shouldn't have to. It's obvious this video got messed up for some reason. Not one of Peter's other video's I've ever seen are like this one. Very clear it's different from the rest. Lets be real here instead of untruthful and distorted. Thanks.

  • Look dude, I set audio volumes for living. Peter always distorts the sound so it's better if he stays in the safety zone. Of course the audio of this video isn't normalized or compressed or limited but it's no where as low as you you make it sound like. I have my volume on %20 and I can hear him just fine, Some laptops have very weak speakers.

  • You're telling me I'm lying or I'm stupid because my audio works and yours doesn't. You're a smart one, aren't you?

  • Peter has more important things to do than spend the few hours it would take, learning about sound recording. He has in the past tried to do exactly what you want and for a few weeks, all his videos had massive sound distortion. I am happy with the low volume and no distortion that he went back to. I can just crank the volume nob.

  • Well maybe he can subtitle his videos then? Even though that would probably take longer, too bad my speakers are low quality.

  • thanks peter

  • Thanks for the report, Schiff.
