Many thanks for posting this. I was looking for a copy but there is nothing available now. The recording is from a BBC Outside Broadcast somewhere between 19 May 1924 and the war years when the recording of the aeroplane noise (UK bombers) and the nightingale was recorded. BBC iPplayer has some more details.
Big thanks for these. Rather more interesting than the big pile of old George Formby 78s I've got in the attic, along with my mum's old gramophone....
I read about this on the internet whilst I was googling "nightingales." What a treat to hear this, and how lucky was Spannerworks to receive this so unexpectedly. Thanks to all.
@spannerworks1 Thankyou Richard. I had to log on to hear this again...I did find the recording on the internet somewhere, of the planes flying over the garden whilst the cello and nightingale were playing. Despite a new search, I cannot find it again. (I remember that 11 of the planes did not return.) Thankyou again for this. It's a treasure.

thanks for posting this ..i was just watching bbc2 'bird brittania' and they mentioned this ..she was playing her cello and a nightingale joined in ..it was during the war and as it was being recorded some bombers came over and the recording went off the air , but the recording person kept recording it..they were british bombers anyway .
