This is rear wheel HP. At the crank its 500hp stock but to the rear wheels stock is about 445hp. Cold Air intake and a tune makes a big difference on the GT 500

GT500's come with a limited slip diff. and a common mod for these cars are cold air intakes. they're cheap too.

What is the stongest small block v8 today? the Ford 302. it is the most used small block as well.. naturally aspirated or not you can make a hell of a lot of power with one. and for the big blocks... what about the boss 429 in 69? it made over 600hp. and yes maybe chevy can make a car with 505hp-na but ford can come right back and make competition for 20 grand less (gt500) so you can spend that extra 20 gs on leavin that blue bowtie way back at the starting line.

Why did back in 69 ford make a more powerful motor then the "beast hemi's?" Answer that one smartass. Ford are 100% capable of making BETTER motors then the General Maintance Ls's, without superchargers. Why do they use forced induction? Why not? Tell me the disadvantages to all motor? For road purposes, in which the car is sold for, its not a bad way to market your car. Ford were ahead of the game in 69, why would they back-track 39 years later? They wouldn't.
