  • first DECENT expert village video ive ever seen.....

  • Hi, I live in a tropical island..

One day, I found a BIG one (the size of my palm) walking in my yard, it was in a snail shell..

Weird enough it didn't die after so many days on land since I live a bit far from the sea (about 20 mins route)....

Well, I caught it and released it in the ocean..

  • @Praveen501

U KILLED IT.....ever heard of a land turtle OMG>.....they live underground......

  • @genegx2 you mean land hermite crab? turtles don't live in snail shells

  • @AnimalLover161

xD yeahhhhh......i was thinking about a turtle

  • my fish happy fins die

  • I know Expert Village is wrong about nearly everything, so if anybody could PM me the real care of saltwater hermit crabs, I would be more than grateful. ;)

  • @19allden19 it's pretty hard to kill them. You could probably leave them out of water for a day and they would survive. As they said below, they need shells to change out as they get bigger

  • @19allden19 its esy al u do is give tham ded brne shrimp and thy srvive

  • is it ok to have wired cages???

  • @coolboy18200 no its not ok to have wire cages.

  • Hey buddy, look at the camera, not the cue cards. Another failed video from expert village.

  • @JTMarlin8 or just sum1 who has high expectations >.>

  • make sure you have bigger shells for them to change into

  • what care did he tell me?

  • thanks for this! usually expert village dosnt know a thing about what they are doing, but this is actually helpful! i have land hermit crabs and i wanted marine ones too, but now i know i wont get them because i only wanted hermit crabs, not fish.

  • why is my hermit crab turning green :O

  • i though they would drown in water o . O

  • tree crabs (Land Hermit Crabs) will. But there are salt water hermit crabs.

  • was that a cone or olive snail at 31, or maybe something else.

are any hermit crabs truly reef safe?

also, would you recomend a hermit crab as a cleaner. i have always been under the impression that they were very messy eaters, and that most of what they did weas break the waste the food down a to a size that is easier to slip into your live sand, filling it with detritus?

  • are there freshwater hermit crabs?

  • Nope. They do not exist. However, there are fiddler crabs and red-claw crabs that should be kept in slightly salty (brackish) setups. There are also colorful crayfish and lobsters that you can look into. Also, there are about 6 different species of small, often coloful and/or patterned shrimp you can purchase. These are good scavengers in a peaceful tank, and prefer live plants to live in.

  • AAAW i love ur crab it is so cute

  • oh my god im weird

  • I had these huge crabs I thru them in my sump and haven't fed them in like 6 months, they have been keeping it clean

  • You might want to change your title to "How to take care of a Marine hermit Crab". Semper Fi!
