I really didn't like the film. I know that it's not out in the states yet but we've had it a week so I saw it last Friday. I hadn't seen the first one but my mate had and he loved it so all I can say is if you haven't seen the first don't start with this one, make time to see the first film first.

Iron Man 2 makes literally no sense if you haven't seen the first, they don't do anything to establish any characters or their relationships.
