sounds good, mahalo for sharing.....do you tune this in g by simply getting an open g note on the flute, to match a g note on a digital guitar tuner???...pardon if this sounds like a stupid question, just slowly learning....aloha, forest
yes, the lowest note with an open end hole is my fundamental pitch and everything else starts from there :)
Re: electronic tuner, it might be necessary to try few different blow levels to find concert pitch G but this instrument is generally well tuned and finding right G is no problem :)
Yes, we "invetnted" it in sweden also, trad folkinstrument here too - from willows bark, cuta branch, dose it in water, strip the bark by pulling out the wood, leaving a tube of bark and fashioning the mouthend whistle piece of the wood.
I made a koncovka out of pvc (if you want one, readers, click on 'PVC overtone flute in 3 minutes ;) ) and it sounds incredebly good! I'm getting obsessed by this and the fujara

Sweet performance! It is a very simple instrument with great sound. Had a chance to try it for the first time yesterday.

This is also a traditional folkinstrument in Sweden. Called a "sälgflöjt".

Wonderful... I have always wanted to be able to play a flute... I made a similiar diy flute but with no holes, as traditional Overtone flute..
I saw somewhere this one has three holes?
Can you simply post your dimensions on length and hole placement so everyone can build such a wonderful instrument..
Thank you for you contribution
