Hi hi! Have you thought about - fast abs magic (do a search on google)? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my BF got beautiful 6 pack abs and lost crazy amounts of fat with it.
Thanks for saving it's life, very nice to see nice human done the right thing, not many nice people like you, Wish some people learn like you, thank-you so much.
I've been watching your videos for awhile and I have a ton of trust and respect for what you say because it is researched tried and tested. I am a vegan and I would say close to 95 percent raw. My hangup is that I live in the snow belt of the US and come winter sometimes I just need some warm comfort food. When I do that I go for steamed veggies or I make my own vegetable soups which obviously isn't the worst but not the most efficient way to consume my produce. Is there something you
could recommend in a more raw variety that can provide that warm internal feeling. I HATE the cold but I couldn't bear to leave my family and friends behind here to a different climate so I'd like to adapt. I really do not like nuts and seeds which I have heard help is there something else that I am missing that could simulate that heat infusion people feel when they reach for that cup of tea or that soup when they come in from the snow. :)
Hey durian rider - i've got a question for you that's been stabbing at me for awhile - as i've gone through your videos. Why are you so admit that what your doing is the only way? I'm not here to say what you're doing is wrong but I am curious why you feel the need to battle tooth and nail to prove that you're way of thinking is number 1? There are plenty of different dietary regimens that work - and history proves it - do you accept that?
@backslashnik So why are you asking me that? You want to believe the crap you eat is healthy? Dont like people saying bad things about your bad habits?
Time to step and grab life bro vs farting your life away into the couch watching Barry Sears talk about 'the zone diet' whilst your crunching on some bird legs you 'slow cooked'. ;)
@durianriders Hiya, can I ask a question? I was born and raised vegetarian, then vegan for years now and in my 20's. I'm a big guy I guess, 186cm and 220lbs (I'm a vegan chef, can't help but eat lol)
I want to try and merge into a more natural, less cooked lifestyle. Do you have any videos or advice about how you became raw and or controlled your weight??
@leetgaines get a cup or small bowl, put some vinegar in it and cover with saran wrap. poke a few tiny holes in it and they'll fly in but won"t be able to get back out. when you have a bunch of em in there take it outside and let em go. no joke, it works great!
I start my Vegan Lifestyle tomorrow. I'm excited and scared at the same time. You have been such an inspiration. Thanks for putting video's on Youtube.com. I call you the Vegan King! Lol.
I am with you and this was a great video, but I think caloric restriction (of any kind, not just severe or eating less than your fill regularly or whatever) is supposed to be to emulate conditions in nature where food may not always be readily available. We're lucky to have all the food we want all the time, but I'm not sure if we always had that luxury during our evolutionary development. Nature is a bit harsher than the supermarket or the farmer's market lol :)
actually no it isn't that harsh. To humans, its harsh. But to other animals, no. Animals were made to hunt and get their food by ease, but humans violate that rule.
Humans had tools. We are not designed to hunt animals. If we had no tools, we would only be able to catch small animals and that's it.
But most of our food is supposed to come from fruits and vegetables. We are supposed to stay in one place and not migrate.
Lets say a human hunts with only his bare hands and he tries to pull a horse down with his bare hands. To him, nature would be HARSH, since the horse might kick him or hurt him if he tries to kill the horse.
But to a cheetah, who has sharp claws, and a fast speed, the cheetah can take down its food with EASE without getting hurt.
Harley.. you're a great person. I try to save all the insects in my house too. (except earwigs, I'll just run from those) And it really pisses me off when people step on insects 10 times in a row, just for their own sadistic reasons. They don't care at all that these are living, breathing creatures that have just as much worth as the rest of us on Earth.
So, Harley, you like judging others and even tell people to judge others explicitly in your videos. But what problem do you have with being judged? You obviously dont like being judged yourself because you remove comments from here that you dont like. What have you got to hide??
So cute! I had no idea a moth would do this with sugar water. I will definitely try next time this happens at my cabin, and use grape juice as you said (obviously natural grape juice). I always save bugs too, my mom always taught me that, ever since I was little. I can't even kill a fly, always catch and release. People always step on ants too, and it bothers me :(
Awesome video DR I am sharing..Way to go! SO glad to have seen this..I am sharing this on my facebook page where I motivate others to eat fruit called ONE FRUIT AT A TIME!
Since i became vegan I see animals in such a different way. Before i didnt care about insects and small creatures. For me they were anoying ugly creatures. Now i try to rescue them all. And if my mother steps on a bug i yell at her because every animal for me is the same, i dont make differences between them. They all have the right to live :) And why should i kill them if i dont eat them. In nature animals kill only to eat.
you suggest thousands ao calories more especially for Athletic performance yet Tim Van Orden is crushing it at around 2000 calories?? help...i dont know if i should consume your amount or Tims..thanks mate I run and lift weights but with moderation..
@STORYTASTIC how about you consume in between both of them so someone in the future will say, hey this guy is crushing it and eating this many calories. follow your path :p
Harley, you are such an inspiration! You are changing lives globally and my 3 daughters and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!! Sending you love from Michigan!
hey Harley thank you for changing my life...Im 43 livin in NYC and am 6 foot 2 inches and am following your advice..BUT just checked out Tim van ordens website he is also 43 and winning races and he says he eatd under 2000 calories a day!!! i am confused how is he winning races and looking great?
@STORYTASTIC Tin Van Orden eats a higher fat diet (probably still lower fat than SAD but higher that DR), me thinks. I recall him saying that he eats a high fat dinner (slow digesting) to sleep through the night, or something to that effect... He could weigh less than DR also???
@culicomorpha Before important races TVO cuts out the overt fats. We had a 3hr discussion about it at woodstock fruit festival in front of about 100 people. The conclusion was the TVO eats 955 close to races and around 721 outside of races. That would make it 811 over the year.
@STORYTASTIC TVO has a vid on youtube where he says he can eat over 40 lara bars in during a sitting. At the fruit festival TVO would chow down 1500-2000cals of durian in a sitting sometimes.
2000cals the day before a stair climb race so he wakes up totally empty in digestion and can go hard for 10mins? Yeah, that makes total sense.
Great video, thank you for not killing an innocent moth!....ALL living creatures should have a good life! And you added a great part of life to the moths life!....It will come back to you one day, something good will come your way!
Questions: What about when you are trying to lose weight? Wouldn't you want to lower your caloric intake that way you use your fat as your energy source? Then as you lose more weight increase your caloric intake...maybe?
I'm seriously curious to this conundrum. I've been losing weight an I as soon as I went to your 30 bananas a day (3000 cal.) I've gained weight. Yes, I'm exercising everyday as normal. I just don't get it. I love raw and will stay raw but I think I have to restrict my calories.
@CptUnknown weight can be muscle, blood, water, glycogen, bone density, fat, hair, skin etc. Most people have no idea of what 'weight' they want to drop/gain and just sit on the merry go round of starve/binge/starve/binge and being a boring person in between.
When it comes to fruit, eat more if you want to live more.
@durianrider Hmm but I am fat. I could still lose up to another 30 pounds of fat. I'm only eating nuts and seeds for my fat and I barely do that now. I guess I'm just confused with your diet and calorie intake. See I reduce mine and I lose weight..then I increase it with ONLY bananas and I gain weight. But right now I am eating plenty of other and veggies now, however I reduced my caloric intake by a 1000. We shall see right? When it comes to losing fat you may need to consider another approach
I have been exposed to a lot of people with eating disorders over my lifetime, as I have been in many treatment facilities, and I can honestly say, I have yet to meet one single person make a recovery eating a diet low in carbohydrates. Many of the patients all shared one common thread: they were ALL deficient in carbohydrates, yet they were ALL eating zero-cal sweeteners in excess. I had one girl tell me she was living off zero-cal jello and softdrinks... where is she now? Dead.
you said the moth was stuck there and hadn't eaten for days. not hard to tell it needed some food was it? and there's a difference between calorie restriction and starvation. the society with the longest life expectancy on earth is Okinawa, they typically eat 1200 calories per day. i don't calorie restrict myself, i eat as much as i want, which just happens to be around 1500 to 2000 calories per day. i do light exercise like yoga, rebounding. i never go hungry.
I used to eat 500+/- calories a day while I was anorexic/bulimic. Now I eat 7000-8000 calories a day of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, and I have never felt better in my life. I advise all anorexic/bulimics, if they are seriously considering a recovery on a frug 8/1/1, to eat AT LEAST 1000 calories above your maintenance. Whenever I eat low on the carbs, I get extremely aggravated and become ravenous. Short and skinny of it: fruit won't hurt you at all -- it was designed with YOU in mind.
i once spotted harley and freelee eating ants in a park. so sick. glad i was there to help stop their primitive feast although they tried to take a bite out of my dog.
Thank you for making this video, you have backed up what you have been saying with undeniable proof ....... which is more than anyone can say for Daniel Vitalis, David Wolfe etc ..... as they say one thing but their own body, stamina and actions say something different......
Harley your actions speak volumes, this video makes me so happy XD There is nothing worse than a meat -eating testosterone male, that has to prove their masculinity by being aggressive, killing things, drinking beer and eating steaks with their fishing buddies on the weekend. There is nothing sexier than a guy who is secure in their own masculinity to be compassionate, loving and a protector of animal friends... I'm so lucky to have a husband who also fits that bill :D
@ZachandBailey1111 The ironic thing is that animal products have an estrogen like effect on the body, it's been proven that on average vegans have 18% higher levels of testosterone. As Rip Esselstyn said, men eat plants and boys eat meat.
@bashful228 first of all, spiders are not insects (they are arachnids). but anyway, what's your point? the "danger" of one kind of living thing does not preclude our compassion for all living things, and yes even the danger itself
It was very refreshing to watch these blessed creatures and reflect in awe upon nature....thank you Harley for adding this in the vid. Point made!!!!

It's like watching the Crocodile Hunter, but with insects. And it's not as hilarious.

Thank you for making this video, you have backed up what you have been saying with undeniable proof ....... which is more than anyone can say for Daniel Vitalis, David Wolfe etc ..... as they say one thing but their own body, stamina and actions say something different......

great vid man. funny how people pretend/think they're not animals, like humans are somehow superior to every other living thing...

@ZachandBailey1111 thank god for those b12 shotz...

@rui27marne Even meat-eaters have instances of low b-12 :)

@ZachandBailey1111 The ironic thing is that animal products have an estrogen like effect on the body, it's been proven that on average vegans have 18% higher levels of testosterone. As Rip Esselstyn said, men eat plants and boys eat meat.

You sure Huntsman are harmless, they're one of the few spiders I use an object to pick up rather than my hands?
bashful228 4 months ago 2
@bashful228 first of all, spiders are not insects (they are arachnids). but anyway, what's your point? the "danger" of one kind of living thing does not preclude our compassion for all living things, and yes even the danger itself
kelhado 4 months ago
@bashful228 Huntsman's will bite. They are like women, you gotta touch em just right. ;)
