@rugby2413 The Wallaby pack's quite different this year. No TPN, no Palu, no Smith, no Horwill... it'll be a lot closer, unless Wales are out of form. Should be a cracker, though.
This is why i would like to see England. Scotland and Wales combine to play as a unified British team. Britain, by playing as seperate nations, give other countries a big advantage.
We should only play as seperate nations for the six nations tournament. Other than that it should be a unified British team - or British Lions team inc. N.Ireland.
true. but thats one serious fatal flaw of wales. they have no depth. if someone gets injured then they don't have any decent players to cover them. in a game like rugby you need depth. plus the current australian team is a developing one, average age 23.
They remind me of France (australia) a young team that can play incredibly well one week and pull out the worst game there ever was the next week...that being said they played beautifully against Wales
I think your a lil harsh on Cooper. His had fantastic mid-week games for the wallabies. And his game on the 1st team has been impressive - given he had to perform the role we would expect of Barnes.
I got nothing but super praise for how far Cooper has come! His still very raw. But his talent is so clear. his footwork is amazing... his gonna be one of our really big assets in years to come, even with Barnes in the frame
yes very true i understand cooper is a very exciting player and ridiculous passing/stepping abilities but i feel aus with giteau at 10 and then digby ioni and mortlock outside him would be a stronger team than if cooper was included...but in fairness i was a little harsh on cooper..hes a class act for his age but i feel he needs a couple more super 14 seasons under his belt
Finaly the wallabies have filled the hole left by Gregan with a world class srum half in will genia. they also got a world class scrummaging front row. Pocock is also promising with his 2 man of the match performances in the northern tours, Deans' eye for talent and gamble on youth is paying off with the average age of the wallabies 23 watch out for the aussies at the 2011 world cup in 2 years time when alot of these players will be in their prime.
i really do appreciate Australia, and as a Welshy, it pains me to say so, but they won, fair and square. Stephen Jones had a tough job working with the replacements. He did a good job though! STEPHEN JONES!!! :P
If ur an Aussie, support ur team! Unlike all the haters after the Scot game. And to think some were calling for Giteau's head. Just so glad it finally came together, on the field and on the scoreboard! Never doubted for a second. Deans has done wonders introducing all these talented and promising youth. Unlike Connelly, who was still obsessed not too long ago with using our best resource (Gits) at 9.
yes wales did play rubbish but saying wales as "boring* northen hemisphere side is a load of rubbish. wales have played great free flowing rugby in the past couple of years. as u aussies should know with us beating you in 2008 and us winning the GRAND SLAM, but wales arent on the best of forms atm. But WE WILL COME BACK. SO BEWARE
beware the wallaby side with a ferocious tight 5. they'll always have a world class backline, but when they have a pack to feed them (91 &99), watch out.
its interesting watching this. You can tell how the different styles of rugby have influenced the kiwi coaches of these two teams. Gatland must have trouble trying to teach free flowing rugby when you have northern hemisphere club teams playing boring rugby. As for the wallabies, Deans would be pleased but still a way to go ....I can see his free flowing rugby here
fucking beautiful, fills my aussie heart with pride watching the boys put in a performance like that. Very impressive and the nightmares of scotland are well and truly gone.
beat england, beat wales and should have beaten eire and scotland, all while we were missing barnes and mortlock, the boys need to perform like this more often
Im a hardcore brumbies fan. But personally, I would like to see Digby keep the 13 ;) not saying Mortlock isnt still one of our best ball running 13s, but Digby is so dynamic!
yeah mate 4 sure, hope Mortlock comes back soon and as strong as ever but im also well impressed with Digby, the future is bright and the more players competing for positions the better for the team!
But you lose the wide attack! Cooper-Giteau dual ball-player combo is working a treat! Look at the variety in attack it gives them! It adds so so so much more width and variety to our attack. And you really restrict the fly halves game (whether Barnes or Giteau) by not having another ball player at 12.
Cooper is still learning but is so promising. His got very very good footwork, fast, kicking improving and got a sweet pass both ways. & he takes on the line
G8 work the wallabies!! showed what their capable of in this game. Looking foward to the improvement over the next 2 years. Biggest win over Wales in Wales since our thrashing of them in the 1999 RWC
giteau's last great performance, hopefully not the last

Another stirling effort by the green and gold. Proud to be a convict, proud to be an aussie. Respect to the Welsh.

one thing i love about wels rugby is that they play the full 80 mins not like a few other teams unfortunaly
Anthony8091 1 year ago
all credit to the Aussies, they outclassed us on that day.
I was in the stand watching and i haven't seen wales dominated in the way they were like that for a long time.
If australia carry on form like this, they'll be hot contenders for the world cup next summer

'bout frickin' time. wallabies starting the momentum for 2010, tri nations; bledisloe; and mandela plate winners. bring it on.

To be fair Wales did miss some key players e.g. Lee Halfpenny, Shane Williams, Mike Phillips, Lee Byrne, Mark Jones, Ryan Jones.
That said, Australia played a great game.
