Picture this, imagine riding a war horse, over a plush green valley, at full speed with sword in hand, right into the middle of midevil era combat. Swinging your weapon at the enemy as you ride by. I spent many a night driving through the Nevada desert with the sunroof open, the cruise control on with a ganja and red bull buzz listening to these guys. At three in the morning hearing only the wind, engine and the APP, knowing İ'd be in LA in six hours. İt too was a meditation, did some of my best thinking and problem solving then.

My favorite track of all time from my favorite band of all time.

There is a haunting, driving quality to this track that makes it utterly unique.

I still remember first listening to it, in my early childhood, as the intro. to an old newscast show.

Many years later, I found out about APP and their music.

"Lucifer" has never lost any of its luster and has aged most graciously.

@cookeecutkk It's also my favorite APP track. The melody is absolute gorgeous ... yet at the same time, somewhat ominous. It reminds me very much of Giorgio Moroder's Chase (Theme from Midnight Express), and some of the less orchestral pieces of Vangelis, i.e. Alpha. They all have that simple yet addictive melodic theme, and the driven quality you mention.

Apparently no former Morse intercept operators have commented here? The code at the beginning was the channel marker signal for 6WW, French Naval Radio at Dakar, Senegal. It sends V V V de 6WW 6WW over and over until a ship calls in with traffic. I don't know if it's still on the air. Odd choice for the code, anyway.

Never mind any of the religious stuff. To me this always was the music of great architecture. I can see glass windows of a beautiful building with the hypnotic rythym of the tune, I can see beams pointing to the sky supporting living sculpture that people live and/or work in. To me this is pure beauty. Architecture is frozen music and music is architectural (FYI APP did a concept album on Antonio Gaudi, considered by some to be the first postmodern architecht. It is underrated)

Alan Parsons Project is a band to be wreckin with. I think there amazing. When I was young, not even sure how old I was at the time, however it may have been when I was between 6-11, I heard "Games People Play" and ever since then has been one of my favorite songs of all time and will remain to be. My bro is 10 yrs older than I and I heard it whenever he played it and or CHOM FM played it on the radio. Thanks to him! Classic Rock will remain on the top of my fave genre of music. Be good to all

@Baritone45 The whole song is in fact built around that beat 1 stacatto 2 & & 3_ 4 stacatto (I think the V's dots are triplets and the dash, though it sounds like at least a dotted quarter, is just a quarter note. Wish I could type in musical notation). I'm going to see if I can decipher the rest of it. Or look at the sheet music. LOL
