You are the best chess teacher I have ever heard, but I am especially impressed with your love of Fischer and his amazing talent. It's not easy to find someone who is willing to separate the man from his chess, but Fischer deserves to be remembered as the greatest genius in chess history. My only regret is that we will never know all of the great games he could have played after he became champion. He is the last and greatest human player of all time.
I enjoyed both yours and manju2006's analysis so much!! I particularly liked your comment at the end that Bobby makes it seem so simple! hahaha...that's so true!
Im not into chess at all - almost, i played it a lot as a kid but haven't really played the past 8 years or so, and i didn't know any chess expressions before i watched this. The thing, that i would like to say, is, that you really caught my interest, so nice job and keep up the good work!
Hiya! Well, it's hard to know really. Once you get to a certain level everyone has something against e4, d4, c4 and Nf3, which are generally regarded as the best opening moves. What I would recommend is learning two or three variations in depth, for instance the Ruy Lopez with white and the Caro-Kann with black, just to pluck two out of the air. Once you know them well you can develop your own gambits that only you will know how to play correctly; at the very least you will get a time advantage!
thats just one variation, but honestly, i feel that most people have no idea how to respond to it because i always see different kinds of responses to 1. b3. typically i just focus on getting the dark bishop fianchettoed in the first two moves and then try to respond to what every my opponent is doing... just make sure you don't get overrun in the center with this opening.....
@OntologicalQuandary well the try f4, most people play d4 so its like the dutch and so not so bad, but you have 1 move more so, you might have a suprise... but why do you want something people are not prepped against why dont you just try to be better than your opponents than you can play the main lines and outplay them, that gives you confidence and makes learning more fun.. just study technique an you outplay everyon eventually, most people have weaknesses in technique even gms
@pAbedaNSK - Delaying castling or not with the Sicilian Dragon, the Yugoslav Attack slays the Dragon. Over Bobby Fischer's career, he had a near perfect score playing against the Sicilian Dragon using the Yugoslav Attack.
Sick. I was thinking about learning the Sicilian Dragon. Would it matter if I was to try the Accelerated Dragon?? Roman Dzindzi has some good videos on this line and claims it is good and some lines lead to good middlegame positions and even winning - however He is trying to sell his DVD's so - what should I try to learn as a good hypermodern Black defense that is good and leads to good middlegames?? A question I'm sure you have been asked endless times before. Thank You. sincerely, JAMES.
Hi James. It wouldn't matter at all if you learnt the accelerated dragon. The important thing with any opening is that you know all of the variations well. The Dragon is ultra-sharp though, and you really have to know what you're doing if you play it as black. I don't play it at all anymore; in fact I rarely play the Sicilian, and when I do only the Najdorf. But it's all a matter of taste and what suits your style. I prefer closed postional games to open tactical ones. All the best anyway! Sean
Hi Sean. I used to play the french only-but why not play a fianchetto sister opening as black. I like closed positional openings as well but you can't always get them. In San Francisco I used to play at the Mechanics' Institute which hosts many top rated GM tournaments. I retired from play with 1630. Not too great but my health is bad. Now I just enjoy learning the logic. you never know what is going to be played. Thanks for great vids which explain so very much. Sincerely, JAMES.
@buzzclark I claim that the Alekhine Defense is an ambitious hypermodern opening black. It leads to very interesting positions and the funny thing is, black appears cramped but he may crush through after white overextendets his pawns.
Watch my channel, which Im building up now. the Alekhine is my favourite now.
Thanks for your seamless and precise commentary. I always look forward to more videos of yours. It might be interesting to see the one game that Fischer lost against the dragon...
Ha! Well ... I will do at least a few of them anyway =0) Many have been done before on youtube by Kingscrusher and others and I do not want to repeat videos already out there, but that still leaves many to work with! Glad you are enjoying them,
I'm sure it could be done man! The games are all at chess games then a dot then a com ... good luck! If you want any help with how to make videos etc then let me know! =0)
Haha, I mean I will mirror all chess videos made by you, manjnu, Kc, canstein etc:) I can not annotate that well than you thats sure. (I am too weak @chess/ english) My plan is this: I will or rather would open a new channel and collect all the videos in the 60 memorable there in order, credits to the original annotators ofc. I hope you will make as many as possible. (all? :d) I have a feeling after the desktop accident you like fischer as much I do so your work has its priorities there. :)
It's a great idea for sure man! I could not find a list on the net of Bobby's 60 memorable games; I know Kingscrusher has done a lot of them; I would glady fill in some of the blanks if need be. Let me know!

@OntologicalQuandary look up Larsen's opening......
1. b3 e5
2.Bb2 Nc6
3.e3 d5
4.Bb5 Bd6

@SeanGGodley but black takes knight on d4 with his knight as in the video seems good to me, is it bad??? or why isnt it played anymore??
IBOUGHTYAMOM 10 months ago
@buzzclark you should try all openings, seriously even if all resulting positions were the same, some you just can play better then others..

Actually the move at 5:10 for black should be Nh5 ;F

Then rook x Knight, pawn x rook, and rook h1, really strong position for white, winning one I think.
