  • hi jessica..your story is very touching..i have a b.p.i. that had me very depressed, but with love and support from my wife, family and friends,im still fighting the fight..6 months after my injury,i had a nerve graph surgery that gave me back a little more mobility in my arm..i hope everything works out for you..very inspiring video..god bless...aloha

  • I would love to contact you i know how ya feel it is very disabling im trying to see if i have one from surgery Feb 22 2011 but have been abandon by my doctors who made a mistake so i have insurance but neither my pcp or surgeon will get me the referrals i need for the help.

  • so jess i can see that you have quite a bit of finger movement, i think thats good. did the dr tell you you where stuck or did they say wait and see? i have one from a motorcycle accident and needless to say it stinks. I would def like know your progress as you may have already observed yourself, other peoples success can be yours as well. thank you.

  • thank you :') I am a fellow survivor, and can for sure understand your struggles. I thankfully live in canada, so all my health is covered, im sorry yours is not.

    God Bless You Margaret xxxx

  • I read that Jessica got her surgery . I would love to see a new video on how she is doing. May God Bless you . This is a wonderful story and you deserve to have your arm back . I believe that God will heal your arm. You are a miracle. <333

  • Going by the reck of your car! your sooo lucky to be with us today, i wish you all the best and i hope your arm is back to normal by now, Best of luck

  • @keenandwhat009 its paralized whitch means its like that forever....

  • come down to the uk medical treatment is free down here

  • Its free here in america also. If you don't have a job or insurance you just go down to the hospital and they will fix you up for free. The state will pay for it if you don't pay them. The poor people and illegals here, do it all the time.

  • @oaklandraider81 then why is people suffering so bad because they have not got the money in the usa? you alwasy hear about it? selling everything they have for treatment and do charities trying to raise funds for equipment to need so badly.

  • @keenandwhat009

If you are suffering, the hospitals have to help you by law. They can't deny you help. What you are hearing is what the media says.

  • @oaklandraider81 so this girl in the video could get the help after all? i don't understand how it works in the states

  • @keenandwhat009 The system is set up to where they want you, as an individual to pay for your healthcare first. If you cant afford it they will send your bill to a collection agency. You blow the collection agency off for a while and then the bill is ultimately paid by the state(tax payers). The downside is that your personal credit is pretty much ruined.

  • she is a butterfly

  • I was wondering how everthing is going for you. My teenage son just got an injury to his right brachial plexus, playing high school football and might need surgery. So i now know how hard this is for you,so i hope its going well, best of wishes

  • My god girl, give thanks to your guardian angel! You could've come out of that accident with a way different outcome! I understand the desire to get your arm fixed, but, all things considered, you are lucky to be in as good shape as you are! God Bless!

  • Like, even though your arm is hosed, there's still hope. Despite being on the brink of bankruptcy & unable to contribute directly, we are pushing aggressively for health-care reform. We are urging others to do so as well. After all, if "Uncle Sam" can give hundreds of billions (of dollars) to undeserving Wall Street firms, while letting you suffer miserably, this nation's priorities are seriously upside-down. We wish you all the best. You go, girl!

  • why is she wearing diapers while learning to walk ?

  • I just watched this video for the first time today and had to read through all the comments... I'm so glad that you were able to have the surgery. Hopefully we'll get an update from you soon! You're in my prayers, hon.

  • I never thought about how important and special a two armed hug is and I took it for granted until I watched this video (by complete random chance), But I LOVE those, and I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope you get to have those again.,...I am a little too sensitive and I literally cried when I heard you say you were short of those. lol

  • oh my gosh. you are amazing. im from england, my dad has got the same injury as you, but to his right arm, i would love to email you or something about it, because as part of his close family its extremely upsetting, and i totally knnow and understand how you and your family feel. he did it through a motorbike accident, he has no feeling in his arm at all. its such an awful thing. my dad has the sling on all the time. just like you. i hope you can get in touch sometime or how.

  • Hang in there girl. I'm an RN and it's amazing what people can overcome!!!!! You have come so far--- I can give my thoughts and prayers. Just know that a total stranger in California is praying for your strength. :)

  • If you lived in Canada, you wouldn't have to worry about life saving treatment and paying for it. you shouldn't have to worry about that sort of thing. what does your government do for you. I sure hope Barack Obama can do something with domestic policy instead of focusing billions of dollars into foreign policy. show me the oil!!

  • jessicer. be safe. i love you

  • Jessica,

I wish you only the best of luck.

You are so very brave, please check out the resources at the united brachial plexus network. It helped me so much when I got my injury in Dec.

Again good luck and prayers are with you!

  • Hello Jessica,

I have found a fairly new Resource for Financial Assistance/Low interest Loans no matter what your Credit rating is.

Feel free to contact me directly for further information.

You are truly a Brave woman and inspiring too. I have an LOBPI and am 69 ++++. United Brachial Plexus Network changed my life when I found it at age 65!

    HUGS!

  • Coming back to comment on one more thing. I know that you love your slings but I worry about the pressure they are putting on your neck. Do a search for a Roylan Universal Shoulder Immoblizer and see what you think about this design.. you do not need the white strap and the waist belt can be cut down to half the size. It can be covered with all kinds of fabrics and your hand can be free to do things. There are other really neat options as well like the Therafin arm sling.

  • I'ved watched your video now a few times. My daughter is 10 and has a bpi also. You are a strong and courageous woman. There are some bpi specialists who may be able to help you. There is a list of them on the Medical Resources area of the United Brachial Plexus Network website. I can also tell you how to get free airfare. But I need more info. Can you contact me?

  • What is your e-mail?

  • Jessicer I Love you. be safe. I love you

  • they won't allow a message in here with that information written so please just go to my youtube page and send me a message through there - I even tried to write it out using words instead of the symbols and they still didn't allow it - I'm sorry

  • Your video made me cry, especially when you spoke of your desire to be able to hug others. I'm still wiping tears away now. I have a 5 year old daughter with a BPI from a birth injury. It's a struggle, but progress for her has been wonderful. I'm wishing you so many good wishes and prayers!
