  • I love this song, isn't this the song that plays during the "Romance" Scenes in the game?

  • @fatalmayu Nope, that song's called "Love Song"

Leliana sings this to you if you have a proper relationship with her.

  • I almost cried! This song brings back so many memories of the good old days when I couldnt stop playing Dragon Age. To this day it's still the best RPG I've ever played :)

  • Skyrim was the best rpg, till dragon age shot wm arrow through its knees

  • what language is she singing?

  • @zhangweida3333 elven

  • @zhangweida3333 She is speaking elvish.:)

  • @zhangweida3333 According to the wikis and such, it's a form of elven derived from JRR Tolkien's books

  • GRATTH ^XVX^

  • 19 people cannot suffer enough ^_^

  • Skyrim is overrated IMO. I got bored with it and haven't even finished the 2nd Act yet on my first play through. I had not even played DA:Origins until after Skyrim came out. I'm already on my 4th play through.

  • @tankdogg937 Yeah like totally. Skyrim has good graphics but I really hate the game's animations and unrealistic physics.. It also has the most ridiculous glitches I've ever seen in a game. And I really hate the physics. Yeah I know, I already said but I just had to say it twice.

  • i hope leliana comes back in drgagon age 3 even as a cameo then it would be a great game

  • @joshuapennington32

I suspect she'll play a bigger role in the 3rd trying to stop the war between the Chantry and Mages.

  • Does anyone know the name of the background music played in Denerim while you play through the Leliana's Song DLC? Every search I can think of inevitably leads back to this song.

  • @FrenziedFury umm try Leliana's Suite. I think that that's the name.

  • Sorry for the off topic but anyone know the name of the Dalish camp theme or how you can find it?

  • @YouFoolWarrenIsDead one (i believe it is the origin camp) is called The Dalish and the other is called The Dalish Elves' Encampment. I bought the cd on iTunes

  • Comment removed

  • @TheKyrst Thanks for the info i really appreciate it.

  • @Miakosamuio lol she's human, but the song is Elven in origin.

  • I miss this game.

  • its the most beautiful song i have ever heard in a game....EPIC...4 a moment i thought i was a Grey Warden 4 reall!!!so many emotions

  • Bioware = masterpiece stories

    Bethesda = masterpiece exploration

Why can't these two companies just team up and make a game called, God? =(

  • @Efactor87 Like a Mass Effect game where every planet you explore is as big as an Elder Scrolls game?! o.O

  • @Efactor87 Because this would happen: /watch?v=mW9PvYYH9lA

  • Lelianas song was better than dragon age 2

  • @TheZaniken Alot of stuff in origin's is better than 2, no extreme button mashing, better story, music, no repetative locations... etc

  • Lelianas song was better than dragon age 2

  • this song makes me want to cry, its very moving.

  • Morrigan disapproves -18

  • 18 people are Elf-haters :P

  • @anon0092 Leliana isn't an elf?

  • @Miakosamuio No she's a human :)

  • Ah Dragon Age, how much you pulled me in with the epic story and the awesome characters and the gorgeous music! I love this game. I even love the fighting system because you have to actually plan and strategize. I love the fact that you can set tactics for each character, making them combine attacks and abilities for even better damage. (My mage freezes them, Wynn stone fists them, problem solved) Honestly, I like challenges and if a game is just a mindless button masher, I get bored easily.

  • you know i am playing this game right now and i find myself not caring, this song is what i came for, so who the hell cares about argumetns?

  • @DarkExileX You're seriously comparing two individually awesome games, and trying to claim one is the better by a mile?

Dude, they're both awesome. I've replayed both several times. And even I don't bother comparing them - they're both highly addictive.

  • @damunzta skyrim is good honestly but Dragon Age Origins story is just unique

  • Epic song.I just love it.

  • I don't bother comparing this game to Skyrim because both are fantastic games, it's not about which is better because they are both brilliant.

  • Love how people compare DA with Skyrim...

    Both are good games.

  • Good game. Not as great as skyrm in my opinion.

  • "Favorites" don't seem worthy of this...

  • The combat in this game HAS to be the worst combat system ever in a RPG game..

    Biggest Flaw of DA1 imho..

  • @TheWitchking123 how so?

  • It's in Dalish guys..it's In Uthenera, the Dalish Prayer.

  • Great now i have to play dragon age again :)

  • I hate how Dragon Age 2 SUCKS compared to DA1

  • omg i need this song. does anyone know a safe link to download it? omg id love this so much. plz send to meeeeee

  • this is what i like about Dragon Age, when u go on ur adventure u meet many friends, companions and even lovers who are with u the whole way. Whereas Skyrim u can only take one person with u and the relationship with her/him goes nowhere. Skyrim u need to sort that out!!

  • 18 people are Tranquil and cannot be moved emotionally

  • @AllanbelongswithCaro tho it looks like 19 now.. i think the mages made another one.. xD

  • @TheKainAkasaha Those damn Mages/Templars....why can't we be friends?

  • @DarkExileX It isn't Latin, trust me. It's a fictional language created for Dragon Age: Origins.

  • interestingly this is sang by Kath E Soucie ...

the female Smuggler from SW:TOR ..

and voice actress of Lola Bunny and Fifi Le Fume

  • I love how Gaider had Leliana sing this song in the latest DA novel; Asunder.

  • @pikkunemmi

It's the Elvish language from the game.

  • @Cwyatt92 nop dude its latin

  • What language is this?!

  • what i liked about DA1 the most was the interaction with the companions (very complex), it seems like DA2 dumbed it down

  • I don't get why they didn't hire this artist again for the DA2 soundtrack..... -_-

  • @SayaFight they have the same singer ( Aubrey Ashburn) but did they not hire Inon Zur again?? still she sings the very first song you hear when you put the game in :)

  • if i may wish something about this song, i would like it to be played at my funeral

  • I love how everyone stopped to look at her singing (even Sten and Morrigan) good moment

  • @Rammstein0963 One of the VERY few times Sten shows any sort of emotion at all :) <3 it!!!!

  • @Rammstein0963 First time in a long time that a video game gave me goosebumps.

  • @Rammstein0963 Morrigan's just like...uggh

  • @Rammstein0963 morrigan shook her head and dissapproved :D

  • I love how Leliana has such a beautiful singing voice, but you activate her battle song abilities and she just screams bloody murder. UUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

  • @Skepsikyma She's a Screeching woman! (Total war reference)

  • Loved this part in the game, though Leliana's random gesturing during the song kinda ruined it. Love the game, and love the sequel as well. Can't wait for DAIII

  • @sweetrain999 me too

  • Skyrim is an amazing game but DA:O has to be the best RPG I have ever played perhaps even the best game I have ever played. The depth of the story was amazing and I actually cared for the companions not like Skyrim where their's just people who follow you around and carry stuff for you I mean Morrigan and Alistar Loved them. :)

  • When it comes to story-lines and characters DA:O & DA2 is far superior than Skyrim. Sorry Skyrim but I never really connected to the characters in the game and when I did the main story in it, to me it was just another "Quest", I guess thats the effect on you when the game is so vast. DA gave me a strong connect than Skrim ever did. So if I was given a choice between Bioware's DA Series or Bethesda's Elder Scrolls? I'd go straight for DA without looking back.

  • @TheVulcanphoenix1 you are right

  • After playing both games countless times I only now realize that the first verse is what Merril recites to relese Flemeth from the amulet...Lelianna floored me with this song, I saved right before she sang it and watched it over and over...and over.

  • this song is soul-shattering. It f***ing floored me when I heard it. It's an awesome counterbalance to the rest of the soundtrack which is violent and severe and aggressive (e.g battle the blight or endless wave of hurlocks). I'm not an expert on music or anything and I don't know what constitutes a musical genius, but for me the DAO soundtrack was perfection. I would have gone for Morrigan if it wasn't for this devilish song. Stole my heart, it did.

  • @aoxgeneral what do you want to know about music composition balance what.

  • @MrJoshuaReedBranch It's very nice of you to offer, but I warn you I wouldn't even know how to formulate the question properly!! I can only ask generic things which may be difficult to answer. So, what element or combination of such makes this song both tender and somehow severe? I mean...it could be a love song, but it's just as suitable to be a song commemorating some great loss and hardship. if i sound dramatic it's cause I lack the terminology and compensate by describing the feeling, sorry.

  • @aoxgeneral well when you compose music you got to know your audiance. for lelianas song it definitly needs string like violins or a harp that is heard in the background. but it is fairly hard to describe. the music has to give a feel of sadness yet a proudness to it. this song had the proper ratio of choral sound and strings. giving it a almost angelic feel. but that's just being vage

  • @MrJoshuaReedBranch I know music has a lot to do with mathematics, but when you say "the proper ratio" do you actually mean some specific magical number, say 2:3 choral sound vs. strings? It can't be that mechanical, or is it?? I'm also guessing that certain instruments have specific sounds that always produce a specific feeling regardless of how you play them? Or can you make any instrument sound like anything, both harsh & tender, depending on, what, rhythm? :D sorry you offered to help yet??

  • @aoxgeneral Not an exact number, but there has to be some form order to the sound. However yes in some ways it is that mathmatical. You should never drown out the violins in an orchestra with piccolos or visa versa. But as regard to the feeling you get an instrument you can make anything sound harsh or tender. Rhythm is very important yes you are right it does have an effect. really it comes down alot about balance.

  • need the music for this song!

  • Too bad. Dragon Age 2 doesn't deserve that name... I didn't feel anything while playint it. Something that was completely different in Origins.

  • @DarkExileX Totally agree with you. Dragon Age Origins kicks Skyrim's ass! The soundtrack talks for itself! I listen to it nowadays and I feel nostalgic, a lot of emotions invade me. But the first time I listen to it was seriously an orgasmic experience.

  • @DarkExileX You're totally right man, just loved how the companions were worked out, that alone kept me going to play it 100x again and again.

Skyrim is a good singleplayer experience, but Dragon Age Origins will always have a place in my heart!

    DRAGON AGE!!!!!!!

  • @DarkExileX

I bought Skyrim as my first rpg on our new xbox, thinking it would be the most awesome game ever, due to all the hype. Then I got bored and bought DAO and now I REALLY don't get what all the fuss has been about. DAO is the most epic game ever in my humble opinion. Sorry Skyrim fans, lol.

  • @DarkExileX ^ True story.

  • @DarkExileX Dudes it´s a fact Dragon Age rules !!! Hands up guys!!

  • @DarkExileX they are both number 1, in my opinion

  • @DarkExileX true

skyrim is best in gameplay and graphics but ONLY in that:

the story sucks(its not even good) and is very short, the characters are not that epic

and wharever you do the people wont give a shit(you save skyrim and what you get NOTHING)

i think elders scroll need to improve a bit to be good as dragon age: origins

  • i haven't read asunder yet but can someone spoil it and tell me what happens

  • One of the reasons why I romance Leliana everytime I play this game. I... I think I'm in love! <3

  • who else cried with this game?

  • @gothicAlex666 Me, and a lot. The first time I listened to this song I thanked my parents for bringing me to this world.

  • @gothicAlex666 I did and I'm a guy albeit a very open guy.

  • @gothicAlex666

I did, over and over again : (

  • <3 Dragon Age Origin

    </3 Dragon Age II

  • thumbs up if you cried when you heard this song..

  • i liked DAO but i saw so many flaws everywhere. for example when you begin as a dalish elf, nearly every tree in the village are above the ground. nice work there, guys!

i have yet to see a game that beats neverwinter nights 2.

  • @yostoyou LOL NWN fan LOL (NWN 2 is a good game but personally I love and have every game Bioware has ever made for my PC and both PS3 and 360 minus Jade empire, Each game they make even the bad ones are awesome can't wait for Dragon age 3 and Mass effect 3)

  • @paulman34340 actually i'm not a fan. it's just better in my opinion. dragon age might surpass in story though but i'm not the one to judge that sort of thing. You should really try Jade empire though. it's kinda rough compared to any other bioware title but it's like KotOR meets a fighter/brawler type game.

  • @yostoyou Oh no I've played Jade Empire Pre ordered it when it first came out so I was one of the Many who played it first, It's Good but could have done abit more, I just don't have it no more, But I do have all the other Bioware made RPG's starting from the Baldur's Gate Trilogy which DA is a spiritual successor to (and still playing it to this day) Neverwinter Night, KOTOR and the new the old republic, DA:O and DA 2, and all three Mass effect's (I have ME 3 on pre order)

  • The "arrow to the knee" joke is so anoying -_-

    Dragon age > skyrim

Dragon age was more difficult than skyrim...

  • @MrCoussin DA is better yes. Its shame the game became ruined so quickly. Well atleast I have DAO and DAA.

  • Dragon Age used to be awesome... then it took an EA to the contract...

  • @borkov4e To be fair, EA also produced DA:O. The problem with EA is that if a game does good the directly want to streamline it and appeal a wider audience, instead of perfecting the initial game.

Testaments to this a crisis 2, DA2 and a lot of other games.

  • @crapweezel Yeah. Dragon Age: Origins took 5 years. Perfection, time, hard work. DA2 took about 2. Just look at it that way. It's EA's fault for making them push it out so soon. Dragon Age 3 is gonna be just as if not more epic than the first. I hope they spend plenty of time on it.

  • @JigSaW279 hopefully with The old Republic done the original crew of Origins and Baldur's gate will be involved to keep the morons who rushed DA2 from having their way with 3 I pray to god if not and DA3 is even worsely made then 2 was I'm goina hunt me some canadian doctors I bloody swear, 2 was okay but their were far too many flaws then past Bioware games that one just could not ignore that a patch cannot repair no matter what

  • @crapweezel

Actually, DA:O started Development WAY before BioWare with EA, and actually, by the time EA adquired them, DA:O was almost done already, but EA made them release a Console version(originally it was a PC exclusive), which cause it to be delayed from 2008, all the way to 2009.

DA2 and ME2 are the only Games BioWare has done under EA's management.

  • @WillyWallace100 Oh I didn't know that, it does explain why DA2 tried to be something it wasn't supposed to be...

  • @crapweezel Is there a list of those testaments somewhere? :O

  • thanks for putting lyrics in the vid i been trying to find the lyrics for Leliana's Song

  • @Tsunayoshi357 Well, I don't care insulting you cause I don't know you. I also think you are the one insulting me by saying I have no good taste in game, and actually I think except for the repetitive places and the story which is less impressive than the first one, there is no reason to call it a bad game, and I'm not the only one thinking that, obviously.

  • I don't think I've ever been so emotional over a game :')

  • @imboredmeow I could not agree more...

  • Well, we all remember the people from DA:O and the world from TES3 morrowind... first is usually the best

  • @Aracnicon who?

  • I'm curious: how did you find what the elvish word meanings to the song? I have always loved the song. I think it is beautiful. I really liked that you put lyrics with it. One of the things I remember Hawke saying to Aveline once was 'that is why I say unimportant. Less pressure.' When playing two, I don't worry about messing up something. Hawke isn't in change of anything like the warden is. There is a lot less pressure in two. I love the story in origins.

  • @gaurdianninesunshine you find a book in a chest after you finished the elves part in the elf camp will show you the elf and human versions in the codex thingy

  • I don't understand why everybody says that DA2 is fail... I think it's as good as the first one :/

  • @Seethlaw It fails because it lacks everything that made origins great. It's fun to play...but it has a very shallow story and no imagination....not to mention it was rushed and completed in 1.5 years. Great games take at least 3 or 4 years to develop....sometimes longer.

  • @ProudAtheist90 Ow :/ Well, I think it's a great game anyway, I finished it 3 times, I never do that usually, even for DAO... It's sad

  • @Seethlaw

DA2 is fail, calling it as good as DA:O is insulting to the game and its fans.

  • @Seethlaw Me too, the only thing that I don`t like of DA2 is the repetitive dungeons, caves, and that kind of things; but the argument and the characters are excellent.

  • @GrayFoxShadow777 Ah thanks for the support, I thought I was the only one...

  • very relaxing

  • I listened to this song after I found out my grandfather died =[ that was i year ago and whenever I hear it I think of him...

  • does anyone know what language this is

  • @NateD91 elvish. I remember her saying so.

  • I miss this game. I want to forget and start again and again and again...

  • @tholquitho it was so fucking good. I remember getting it just because i heard the graphic were epic and i was using it as a sort of proving ground for my new computer. No. Regrets.

  • I get goosebumps everytime I hear this song <3

  • Love, love, a thousand times love!

  • how did this get 17 dislikes?

i'm not even gonna try some silly little comment saying something like "17 didn't blah blah blah"

it just baffles how can anyone dislike this song ,it makes no sense to me.

  • In what languange she sings?

  • this is the second best game ive ever played! (first is ocarina of time)

  • hermosa cancion y grandisimo juego el dragon age , con una carga emotiva dificil de igualar, lastima que se cargaran la saga con esa mierda de dragon age 2.

  • I'm SO gonna buy this game now!

  • WOW. My mouth literally dropped when I heard this song on youtube. Somehow the beauty of this song eluded me when I was playing through DA.

  • qwertyuiop asdfghjkl zxcvbnm, but then i took an arrow to the knee.

  • first time I played throught origins i fell in love with morrigan and i did everything to get her to like me. this song reminds me of the magic feeling of playing dragon age for the first time.

  • The greatest and most pleasant surprise in all of DAO. The moment Lelianna started singing I was absolutely captivated and searched in vain for a repeat button on my xbox controller :)

  • @GoldenOakFarm

shame on you for playin such an epic game on a xbox

  • @GoldenOakFarm Agreed, They made the characters better, they just need to try to do the same again in DA3 ( Oh msg me if you want to hear my theories on what choices in DA are actually made canon by certain codex entries and facts in DAO and DA2 AND THATS TO EVERYONE :D )

  • Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 are good in their own ways.

Though the first is for PC players and the second is more for console players.

  • what language is this>?

  • @FlankerVT it's elven

  • @FlankerVT it's supposed to be Elven

  • This opens up my soul and makes it feel pure

  • I used to make skyrim arrow to the knee jokes, but then I realized that it wasn't actually funny and stopped.

  • i luv dragon age but i wish the second one you could go to more places

  • muy ueno el juego y las canciones son hermosas

  • Bioware used to make good games. But then they all took an arrow in the knee.

  • @Trolovski Until EA shot that arrow.

  • @Trolovski Mass Effect. Your point = FAIL. :P

  • Fuck DA2. This is the shit right here.

  • @Kynokeh This is the NEW shit. Da2 was SHIT.

  • I used to play Dragonage A lot.. than i took an arrow in the knee

  • Hey i have a question concerning the game. When u go to decide who should be king or queen, do any of u guys know what happens if u try to persuade them to have u and alistair be king and queen together?

  • @ZelanaKnight You need to be a human noble (female) and Alistair needs to be in love with you. He also needs to be uhardened (look up the DA:O wiki if you need clarification on this). :)

  • @trashleebo k thanks!!!

  • isn't the first part the same merril says to summon Flemeth out of the Amulet? Never recognized it ....
