    Thanks!

  • You guys are hilarious! Thanks for helping a redneck girl change her oil :)

  • funny and helpful,,,thanks

  • Not only can i fix a headgasket now im confident i can change the oil 2 thank you johnb ur the man

  • that car is so rusty for only being 9 years old when they made it. dodge, you disappoint me.

  • ohmygosh. im a 20 year old female and i think im just gonna let my dad do this for me. Not fit for a woman to do this. im scared im gonna mess up or do something wrong to my car.

  • Rednecks?? right... rednecks wouldnt set the e-brake or chock the wheels. cause i dont.

  • @ACountryBoy4X4 or wear fake beards.

  • Its the real life King Of The Hill!!! :D

  • I bet you guys really like buying new tires..... haha

  • Helpful AND entertaining. Thanks.

  • Where's a good place to dispose of the used oil?

  • @ProJanitor any auto parts store should have a big tank in the back where they take used oil, just bring it in and they should take it for free

  • Good video but few things you didn't mention...

    Warm engine up first

Remove filter BEFORE you put sump plug back in

Remove dipstick and Oil cap before putting sump plug back on...

This will ensure you get MUCH more oil out the engine...

Oh and I like to lower the car after removing the sump plug so to get more oil out..

  • Ha I enjoyed it. You guys are entertaining and informative :p

  • How many black people have you guys killed?

  • Love this video. Don't mean to be picky but I'd suggest removing the dipstick and the oil cap from the top of the engine, before undoing the drain bolt/sump plug below. When dipstick and oil cap removed up top, it allows a much smoother flow of oil and crud to come out. Something to do with physics of pressures.

  • i love how dude on the left in the end is smokin a cigarett nd drinkin at the same time lmao

  • very nice never knew how easy it was.stupid question and i probly know the answer to it anyway. what happends if you put the wrong type of oil in your car, ? do you just drain it out again?.

  • when they drove up onto the ramps, all i could think on was bones breaking...

  • i did oil change for baja subaru

  • GET ER DOOOONE

  • OMG, Intrepids are complete pieces of shit, lol. If you are a big enough DIPSHIT and actually OWN an Intrepid, please respond to my comment. I'd love to prove to you why your car is a complete turd.

  • Righty-tighty...SQUIRRRTTTT

  • That was great. I just spent $50 bucks on a full service oil change!

  • @CCAKIN36 JIFFY LUBE IS 59.95

  • JIM BOB FTW

  • Haha you hillbillies are hilarious! Thx

  • LOL you're funny great job!

  • Anyone else think about Tony Hawk Pro Skater when the music started?

  • @maskedman381 omg i used to love that game when i was wayy young

  • Comment removed

  • That 1 song that came on b 4 they started showing how to change oil wuz on Tony Hawk Pro Skater (1) 'o' This video iz awesoooooooooooooooooome!!!!!!!!! ^=^ They made it both educational and fun!!! 5 starz!!! COUNT EM *****

  • @VDRun1988D yeah i rekon, i just grab me one of them deep frier oil recycle barrels from out back of the diner in town

  • @kenpachii100 high-life

  • No. Transmission fluid is red and motor oil is honey colored.

  • When I started watching this video I thought the first 18 seconds were their way of changing the oil... then I saw that its a bunch of rednecks and now I KNOW that's how they get it done.

  • Coronas!!

  • I love Rednecks! Great video guys!

  • you forgot to make sure the rubber seal came off with the old filter

  • of course you play Primus with the video, haha, it fits in perfectly,

  • Good shit .

  • For rednecks...you guys live in a nice suburb.

  • what song was that playing..... thx

  • thank you for finally making a video of a basic oil change not like that fag on expert village .... he made a whole damn season on changing oil ... anyways nice vid

  • @232498232498 Haha expert village has like 10 part series on how to change your oil.

  • good to see a fellow Darryl. I see your parents liked the E more than the Y and they spiced it up with two L's

  • fake

  • fun and educational

  • @PenultimateRun HAHAHAHAAH once a year. U have a shitty car

  • nice usage of "jerry was a racecar driver" love primus haha

  • Good vid and kid of funny but Fram sucks. should have gone with a Moble 1 or Wix filter.

  • Yeah, burn those tires! What brand are they? I'll be sure to buy stock in that tire company! roflmao

  • Thanks rednecks...you sure helped me out wid ma problem eyyyyhaaaa cowboy!

  • Smart red necks!

THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

  • @bembry3000 God damn no!!

  • @bembry3000 Your confusing rednecks with hill billies. Rednecks are ingenuitive, self sufficient problem solvers who help mold tomorrow. Many rednecks are things like engineers, for instance my brothers. Both Graduated from Colorado school of Mines with degrees in petroleum engineering. Now if there were smart hill billies, this would be a different story.

  • This video is good but the first step when changing your vehicle oil is to remove the oil cap first so that the oil flows out more rapidly...

  • Funny how they all raised their beers to the passing cars. Hahaha. Good educational and funny video. Everyone should know how to change their oil if they're gonna drive. If you can't take car of your car yourself, you'll have some high garage bills.

  • I like that homeless style

  • they took our jobs

  • @ThisNamesNowTaken TIKDERKERDERR!!

  • wow...thats really easy!!!

    thnx!!

  • great video, but the greatest thing was that guy smoking and drinking beer at the same time...great lolol

  • Wow this was a great how to video on changing oil. You guys make it look so easy! Thanks alot guys.

  • You forgot the first lesson. Never buy a Dodge Intrepid. They are shit.

  • lol oil that is black gold very random

  • Nice choice of oil, the only thing that might help that motor last a little longer is Lucas addative,. it helps with them cold starts because it keeps the top end of the motor lubricated pretty well and makes it less traumatic on the motor for the first start ups of the day .

  • thanks for the help!

  • Funny video, and probably one of the best oil change how-to's I've seen.

  • Pretty clean Se-r @ 4:45

  • kool, It just happens to be the exact same vehicle, year and colour as mine!, lol I should go change my oil now lol.

  • lol cool video

  • Haha...you guys are funny as shit..lol..Thanks man..you guys need to start a show!

  • u guys remind me of king of the hill.... n what was tha name of the first song??? i think its primus n it cums out on tony hawk pro skater

  • That was funny and informative ... nice one.

  • lol really entertaining, and educational at the same time. Hard to find tha combination this day in age.

  • you hillbillies forgot to mention anything about doublegasketting. when the old seal sticks to the engine and you end up using a seal on top of a seal. two positives make one big uh oh :O

  • one thing they goofed on is checking the oil while the car is still on ramps.

  • lmao random beverly hillbilies blackgold

  • is changing conventional oil and synthetic oil the same? like the same process? (wondering as shops charge alot to chage synthetic oil)

  • yea its the same. its just because synthetic oil is more expensive

  • yes the technique is the same unless you have a high performance car with a dry-sump oil system. The easiest way to check is to get under your car and look for the oil pan if it doesn't have one it is a dry-sump system

  • you red necks are alright!!!!!

  • whats the song starting at 1:15???

  • frekin bill hilly

  • Check this YouTube video "Fleetguard the best" and you'll see why not to buy cheap oil filters like FRAM and STP

  • CAUTION ! before you start any tune up job don't get drunk and DO NOT BUY FRAM OIL FILTERS for any vehicle.

I recommend Wix Mobil 1 or K & N the best protection for your engine after that you can get F&^%dD TOP

    Nice vid

  • U DON'T PUT AN OIL FILTER ON AS TIGHT AS U CAN GET IT F%CK NUTS!

    HAND TIGHT THEN 1/4 TURN.

also nice how u had the tire half on/off the passenger side tire ramp.

  • I have a 2004 Mercury Sable LS 3.0L DOHC which specifies 5w20 motor oil. I like an idiot changed the oil and added 10w40 instead of 5w20. Is there anything wrong with this? Should I switch back to 5w20 on my next oil change? Please help.

  • take it to a mechanic... he will probably say to use 520 again

  • There is nothing wrong with that, its just a heavier weight. It's actually more protection for your engine.

  • Usually you are fine, unless you are living in a very cold climate. Otherwise some prefer heavier oil because of better start up lubrication. You will probalby loose a bit of gas mileage using the heavier oil but I would switch back on your next oil change.

  • I felt like the video missed a few details. They should have mentioned where the oil pan usually is(I was a bit lost/confused the first time I did my oil change) and also to make sure that you don't drain your automatic transmission fluid which could be very close to it, some shitty mechanics even do that like at Express Lube places. Also they didn't replace the drain plug gasket, not extremely important but I do it with every oil change.

  • Hey- I liked it alot! Not bad for backyard Meckanicks :))

  • Thanx soo much for teaching me. 5/5

  • ugh... that beard is so fake..

  • thanks for the breaking news, did not catch that one!

  • apart from the intro, it wasn't all that bad...

  • i have too much oil in my car!

  • i reckon

  • mobile one in an intrepid? LMFAO.

  • hrm. what if the ramps slipped/driver drove onto one of their feet

  • WEll yeah..

this guys are good looking fellers, i feel i can trust them, how about the real mechanics.

is gonna costya this ..and later that.

  • The Backyard Mechanix fuckin rule , thank you so much

  • yeah thank you you rule

  • it might be easier by TALKING LIKE YOURSELF

  • Backyard Mechanics saved my life.... and my car... THANKS BACKYARD MECHANICS! (Two thumbs up)

  • Nice vid. That burnout was sick. Real informative. I heard Fram filters aren't too good. I use Motorcraft factory spec which I bought at Walmart for $4. Thanks for the video. I've never changed the oil on an American car yet. Tomorrow will be my first time. The Japs and Koreans mount their oil filter different (facing up not sideways) and I just wanted to see what the difference is.

  • Wow you must have a lot of money to spend on tires.

  • this shits funny as hell. but at least ill know how to be able to change my oil thanks guys.

  • lol that smoke reminds me when my friend was racing a go cart against my raptor 660 and the rings blew it started smoking so bad i couldnt see him

  • hmmm

dont forget to do an oil change when your car engine is nice and warm, this will make the oil run out better

  • Nice way to get burned. You didn't see how he got oil on his hands when removing the drain plug (2:54).

  • are you fuckin stupid obviously the car was cool when he started the job its people like you that just make shit complicated

  • I was commenting about the guy that said to change the oil when the car is nice and warm and referring to the video to show how that nice and warm oil would get all over your hand and could burn you. I know the car in the video was cool. And what the fuck are you getting all mad about? It's not like I insulted you mom or something.

  • my mom? my fuckin mom??? jk cool well i didnt notice that thanx for pointing it out

  • lol. No problem man. It happens to me sometimes too. Well, take care man.

  • warm is alright, like a 5 minute idle won't hurt, but if the engine reached its operating temp - you're gonna have to wait a while for it to cool off. Also having the old a bit warm helps to remove all the crap cuz it will flow easier.

  • good advice and good humor. thanks

  • lol that was awesome, thanks.

I'm going to change my oil tomorrow for the first time :)

  • Backyard Mechanics THANK YOU!!!

  • i the future we won't need to change our oil. oil will self-clea, or something to that effect

  • the future sucks ass. I like old cars.

  • Damn right there easier to fix the difference between room under the hood is amazing between new n older cars

  • @1dickweed1992 agreed

  • @1dickweed1992 yea maybe old classics but automotive innovation is awesome these days

  • wow that sucks i like changing my oil. lol i guess i wont be buying one of those cars.

  • damn guys this was funny and educational. MORE MORE MORE!

  • Good video, but the voice track is sometimes drowned out by the music.

  • lol bin laden is funny in this video

  • do trans fluid change next!

  • Gnarly soundtrack

  • Good job guys, but not to be a jackass you forgot one thing. After you take off your old filter make sure that the gasket came off so you do not get a double gasket when you out the new filter on. That is bad! It will cause the a leak and blow up your engine. So check the filiter and around the where the filter goes and make sure you can feel metal, not rubber.

    Once again good job!

  • sweet guys this really helped me now i can change my oil thanks :)

  • Its good how-to. But you cant check the correct level at dipstick if the car is that inclined. Also you have to put some oil inside the filter too. But overall this is what it takes to change oil. Thank you guys

  • fuck that. I'm going to meinike.

    lol

  • haha

  • This was a great how-to-vid on changing oil. Thanks for the help guys.

  • easy $10

  • dont use fram oil filters. they suck

  • that's all i've every used and no problems so far. on 4 cars too.

  • dude, you gotta make more of these Backyard Mechanic videos!!!!

  • what happens if you dont change the oil filter?

  • the oil don't get cleaned

  • fuck!!!! i didnt change it! and i had a new oil filter!!!

  • as long as its just this once you should be fine. just don't make a habbit out of it

  • yeah i just changed it today. i didnt want anything to happen to my engine so... but hey thanks for telling me.

  • Hilarious!

  • Thank I needed and oil change but I will do it myself.

  • Haha, thanks ya'll.

  • great video

  • Remember to do the change with the engine warm. Wipe down the oil pan drain seat and the oil filter gasket seat before installing. Check the oil with the car off the ramps to get an accurate read on the dipstick. Some oil poured into the filter before installing can shorten the time it takes to get oil pressure.

  • nice vid. I wish I could do it myslef. It looks simple but complicated.

  • For the oil filter, can it be taken off by hand. And when re-installing it, do you only have to tighten it as much as possible by hand and no tools?

  • Sometimes it can be taken off by hand it is recommended to use a oil filter wrench and then retighten by hand and watch out it has tons of oil in it!!!

  • Awesome video! Thanks a lot!

  • Good video thanks guys!

  • lol thank you, that was actually really good and funny

  • What a waste of tires.

  • What happened with the mustang?

  • i think that one should not pour in the exact amount of fresh oil after draining the used oil. i think that one should pour in a little less then the exact amount for an engine and then check the oil level b/c there might be some old oil that did not drain left in the engine and the owners manuals say do not pour in more (i do not know the reason for that, though)

  • filling too much oil is as bad as too little, i heard that filling too much oil can cause the engine to stall often and the engine could be damaged..

  • yes youre right if theres to much oil in an engine the piston will hit the oil sometimes it may brake a skirt of a piston sometimes it can even push the seals out of the bottom end

  • I heard that putting barbeque sauce in your engine helps to prevent sludge buildup.

  • Thanks, I'm gonna try it.

  • No problem. Just here to help!

  • will that work on exotic cars too?? Benz & Beammer

  • Yes, it should work on super exotic cars such as Benz, BMW, and Daihatsu, as well as any other gasoline engines. It helps to cut down on the buildup of engine sludge, and also helps to combat conditions that lead to burning oil.

    Hope this helps.

  • Ok, so will it that work on a big trucks 18 wheelerss too ?

  • thanks, so do you have any other cool tips.

  • Sure. You can use kraft miracle whip as grease/lubricant throughout your car. This stuff works, well, miracles.

  • let engine run for few minutes? you mean few sec....

  • ehh It don't matter much

  • tanx 4 dat vid very informative
