The money was legally allowed to be kept by the state for other infrastructure programs, especially since they are one of only two states in our nation that does not have a program for supporting transportation projects.
Keep in mind, Obama and Biden were for that bridge even when it meant being able to take that money and use it to repair levees in New Orleans after Katrina.

If you read up on the case, it really wasn't much of a 'flip flop'. The bridge was an exciting idea, but then palin and others realized it would waste too much money, so they decided against it. Sounds like rational governing to me.
It's one thing to be in support of a project when you hear about it, and then to decide you're against it when you realize the degree of federal funding involved, etc. I'm not necessarily saying she may not have been for it, but I don't like the way this is "reported" - it's obviously biased and trying to make it look like she lied ... But if a Governor can't change their mind as a project develops, that's ridiculous.
Your missing the point here. The new outlet reported that its wasn't until she realized that congress wont be funding any more the $233 million that she pulled back. So her opposition towards building was not a self or strategic decision but rather this plan was abandoned due to lack of funding.
So for her to now come out and call it a "Bridge to nowhere" while it is clearly evident that she supported the project is hypocritical. Perfect example of twisting the Facts 4 Political gain!

The Realnews claims to be unbiased but they give democrats much more favorable coverage. While not coming out directly and saying they support Obama, they go easy on him. One of their story's headlines says McCain knew about the WMD fabrication. They chose to air a story about Palin's Bridge to Nowhere. These kinds of stories could just as easily be dug up about Obama or Biden.

here's a newsflash...obama and biden both supported the bridge to nowhere. Palin changed her mind and pulled out. The money was legally allowed to be kept by the state for other infrastructure programs, especially since they are one of only two states in our nation that does not have a program for supporting transportation projects.
Keep in mind, Obama and Biden were for that bridge even when it meant being able to take that money and use it to repair levees in New Orleans after Katrina.

Oh and she's also taken millions in earmarks, and only stopped her support of the bridge when it became evident that the state would have to pay for it. It's one thing to be in support of a project when you hear about it, and then to decide you're against it when you realize the degree of federal funding involved, etc. I'm not necessarily saying she may not have been for it, but I don't like the way this is "reported" - it's obviously biased and trying to make it look like she lied ... Your missing the point here. The new outlet reported that its wasn't until she realized that congress wont be funding any more the $233 million that she pulled back. So her opposition towards building was not a self or strategic decision but rather this plan was abandoned due to lack of funding.

It just sounds like she was commenting on what happened, not saying that she supported the bridge ..... This video seems to want you to draw the conclusion that she flip flopped, but it doesn't seem to have substantive evidence to really prove the claim.

The Realnews claims to be unbiased but they give democrats much more favorable coverage. While not coming out directly and saying they support Obama, they go easy on him. One of their story's headlines says McCain knew about the WMD fabrication. They chose to air a story about Palin's Bridge to Nowhere. These kinds of stories could just as easily be dug up about Obama or Biden.
