After all Arm SSR got only about 50% of Zangezur the rest was cut and made Red kurdistan uyezd, later put in Az SSR. Regarding karabakh, Armenians only wanted the upper part - thats less than half of what is called karabakh.(95% popularion armenian there) Erevan was never part of AzSSR it is same if Armenians claimed Baku...( Armenians were more there then Azeris).

@EricZahn He was the founder of ASALA-RM, which did not carry out any "terrorist" attacks or killed anyone. One of ASALA-RM's functions was to counter what ASALA was doing. As for Monte leading the Xocali operation, I've never heard that. Also, there is evidence that the civilians of Xocali were allowed to walk free to Aghdam and the killings that did take place were very close to Aghdam, where the Azeri forces were in control. If I were you, I would research this more.
@aramanoogian I already did that research brother.. The Xocali incident is also mentioned in Markar Melkonian's book My Brother's Road.. I haven't read the entire book but I have read some of the chapters online in English from Armenian sources.. Please let me know if you've read the book and if i'm mistaken.. believe me that thing between Armenians n Turks is not a matter of nations.. A couple of days after Xocali, Monte went to Stepanagert and came across Xocali and learned what happened. Monte was not happy at all with how the operation was carried out. Also Elchibay stated that Xocali was not an attack on anyone but him by the people who later on kicked him out.

@MsSALANS Not true at all. Zangezur and Karabakh were part of Elizavetpol, however both regions were populated mostly by Armenians. After all Arm SSR got only about 50% of Zangezur the rest was cut and made Red kurdistan uyezd, later put in Az SSR. Regarding karabakh, Armenians only wanted the upper part - thats less than half of what is called karabakh.(95% popularion armenian there) Erevan was never part of AzSSR it is same if Armenians claimed Baku...( Armenians were more there then Azeris).

That's why I said he was "one of the founders" of ASALA. They committed terrorist attacks to kill Turkish diplomats in Europe. Those diplomats were not soldiers nor fighters. They were not alone in most of the attacks. ASALA used to call itsels an "army". But they never fought against Turkish troops and/or armed forces. Besides Melkonian was leading the Xocali attack.. @EricZahn He was the founder of ASALA-RM, which did not carry out any "terrorist" attacks or killed anyone. One of ASALA-RM's functions was to counter what ASALA was doing. As for Monte leading the Xocali operation, I've never heard that. Also, there is evidence that the civilians of Xocali were allowed to walk free to Aghdam and the killings that did take place were very close to Aghdam, where the Azeri forces were in control. If I were you, I would research this more.

I haven't read the entire book but I have read some of the chapters online in English from Armenian sources.. Please let me know if you've read the book and if i'm mistaken.. believe me that thing between Armenians n Turks is not a matter of nations.. Some powers provoke those 2 nations against eachother to keep the kaos stable in this territory..

@EricZahn As for Xocali, Monte was involved in recon for that operation, but 2 days before the operation to start, Monte had an emergency in Martuni and he and his troops left before the operation started. A couple of days after Xocali, Monte went to Stepanagert and came across Xocali and learned what happened. Monte was not happy at all with how the operation was carried out. Also Elchibay stated that Xocali was not an attack on anyone but him by the people who later on kicked him out.

By the way, content of the Turkish archives are not only Ottoman officer reports. There are also Russian officer/spy reports telling how they provoked Armenians against Ottoman Army. The archives are still open for everyone. I lost 3 of my family during these wars, plus my family was one of the hundreds of Turkish foster families which looked after Armenian kids during the deportation and protected 2 Armenian kids from tough winter conditions.

It was well knows even from Soviet Armenian publications. We all know thaat Saloniki is mainly populated by Sefardic Ottoman Jews. And the party Ittihad ve taraky was comprised mainly of sefardic greek jews. That time it was a part of ottoman empire.U can say it again by looking at Ataturks face. He looks like a real Jew. And the entire triumvirate was jewish as well

God Bless Monte Melkonian for fighting for Armenia and our people! May his soul rest in peace today in Yerevan, he is my hero. Beacuse of Armenian people like Monte, today i stand as a PROUD ARMENIAN with my head up high!!!

Monte is Brave Heart and lives in many of our Hearts.
He was shot by an Azeri solider that was with other azeris wondering in willis car around the village the village that Monte allready took over, apparently the enemy was lost and didnt know that the village was surrounded they came with monte in close encounter were during crossfire Monte was deadly wounded
