  • Bob Costas kept touting the sport all night. His funniest line wasn't meant to be. With a tone as dead as Michelle Kwan's Olympic hopes: "We head back to Bardonecchia for more of the spectacular adrenaline that is snowboard cross." (Cyd Zeigler Jr.)

  • The Kim Yu Na thing is obviously NBC's pretentious edict. She is Yu Na Kim to me.

  • I guess she didn't take part in the olympics bcos of the new point system,

  • I really love Michelle so much she gave me so much inspiration in life and helped me to mature and I'm also very proud to say that I have meet my new girlfriend that is also Chinese and looks so much like Michelle and has the same charm, charisma, and happiness now my life is complete. Love you Michelle

  • It's obvious that these comments are not their true opinions.

  • Is she a Lai Daihan?

  • @popxchin Michelle Kwan is CHINESE, DUH.

  • @tiestoringtorides Michelle Kwan is Chinese American. It makes no difference in what Michelle Kwan's origin is. She is still American. Even if she is part Chinese, But she will still be American whether you believe it or not.

  • @waddleduckie1 Indeed, Chinese is only her ethnicity. She's a natural-born American, fully entitled to be elected US president. Her "origin" is "born in the USA".

  • Why does he say "Kim Yuna" instead of Yuna Kim? It's the American audience, so why doesn't he say her American name, Yuna kim? He says Mao Asada properly.

  • Why does she sound so awkward and scripted? Love her though.

  • It just like what she was saying about Rachel Flatt; she lacks experience at broadcasting. And I love her too. I was actually at this event and I saw her while she was filming this. I was so excited to see her!

  • why didn't michelle compete in 2010 vancouver?

  • Although I'm Korean, my favorite, as always, is Michelle. She just has that vibe.

  • She can still do spins-jumps!

She should have gone to the 2010 Olympics.

She would not have won a gold medal, but she would have been the top American on the ice. And it would have been great to see her compete on last time.

  • Michelle is awesome! :)

  • I hope once Sasha Cohen retires she broadcasts as well.

  • Michelle would be a great coach.xxx

  • I agree

  • What about Carolina Kostner? She used to do 3-3!

  • 1:31 after Dick says "the kind of thing that too many young American skaters forget" when the screen goes wide Michelle's face is like awhhh.. then smiles prettily :)

  • Michelle should get a gold medal for wearing that dress!! Mmmm!

  • Michelle is great! Very positive and not "catty" like Dick tends to be. I like him sometimes but he is such an abrasive and derogatory person - even here he's got the implied cut-downs embedded in his compliments which I could do without. At this level ALL the skaters are very respectable athletes and should be given that respect due all the hard work they've put in.

I bet Michelle would be a great coach too! I guess we'll see ...

  • Michelle Kwan looks so cute here. She's trying her best, but she still has some work to do if she wants to be a good commentator.

  • I want to see the olympics commentated by Michelle, she is incredible.

I wish i could give a bear hug to Dick Button ;)

  • Michelle looks so beautiful, and she's giving honest, constructive criticism in the nicest way. You just gotta' love her.

  • Michelle's a natural as a hostess for the 2009 World Figure skating championship She's gracious in front of the camera as she talks about the figure skaters in details.

  • i still think Michelle can win gold!

  • Oh~ You're so pathetic...

  • Michelle looks AMAZING!!

  • Figure skating moved to Asia. Well, yeah! Afterall, the only-I mean ONLY-great female figure skater of all-time surrounded by perfect scores is an American (from Chinese parents) Michelle Kwan. She's an inspiration to all Asian female skaters.

  • Michelle looks really classy in that blue outfit. She is so humble and natural, no wonder people love her to bits.

  • @cabbagemintor Kwan hardly knows what she's talking about. You would think that after 20-some years of PR coaching, she'd develop a natural, continuous, talking voice but she once again sounds exaggerated, scripted, and fake.

  • @Karosanyo Nope. Just making the observation that she doesn't express herself very well. She sounds like she's fumbling around for cliches and her words just don't flow together very well.. Yuna is great herself and can say what she pleases, but I personally do not see any similarities between the two nor any indication that Yuna really idolizes Michelle. In the meantime, happy holidays =)

  • @allenglandlawns You would have to be blind not to see how much Michelle has inspired Yuna... She has stated that Michelle inspired her. She has even took a lot of Michelle's choreography and dresses like her (check out her 2009 dress). I also want you to watch Hero on this site with Yuna and Michelle... Yuna has stated many times that Kwan has inspired her. Why would she lie about that? That's very disrespectful of you to say that...

  • @Karosanyo DIsrespectful? I am not. I just don't think there is a valid reason for me to think Yuna really admires Michelle. All that look like sappy cliches to me. Yuna won the Olympics with RECORD scores and the performance of a lifetime. Lots of athletes credit a lot of things for their success but ultimately their own wins are driven by their OWN determination and skill. Actually, to say Kwan has a part in Yuna's success is simply obscene and disrespectful.

  • @allenglandlawns Did I even say that Michelle Kwan was part of Yuna's success? YUNA HERSELF has stated that Michelle Kwan really inspired her. A valid reason? Because YOU dislike Michelle? You don't even know this woman. Yuna has stated how much Kwan's skating has inspired her. You ARE calling Yuna a liar! I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday.

  • DELUSIONAL much?. yuna didn't mention mk once or twice, but a BILLION times ad nauseum in the press at every step of her career. im a huge yuna fan & there's articles from when no one knew her at 14 heaping praises on mk. mk is her favorite skater bar none. yuna memorized her olympic programs and even said in a clip that it was almost as if she was in love with her. she moved her training rink to mk's family's rink and her new coach is mk's brother in law, not to mention the hero skating duet..

  • @allenglandlawns no one said anything about michelle having credit in yuna's win, you're the only one who said that with your sick mind. you accuse yuna of bullshitting sap when she says she idolizes michelle, and when ppl come up when evidence proving otherwise you claim we're trying to give michelle credit for yuna's win. what a joke. did you forget to take your pills today?

  • Gotta love Michelle. I miss her skating. She has some work to do if she wants to be a commentator, though.

  • we need michelle kwan in 2010 olympics, be magical!!!

  • We need Michelle so bad, our current lasies field although good, just do that have that edge that Michelle has.

  • If Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen came back for the 2010 Olympics, that would be sooooo awesome!!!!
