Rossi stays with Yamaha because he is fast with it, the Ducati may be only Stoner's bike, so any other pilot suffers on the italian bike, and the Yamaha is the motorcycle every pilot wants. That is way Rossi is in Yamaha.

Is the main reason why Rossi is with Yamaha instead of Ducati (Italian bred) is because of sponsorship dollars? If Ducati can come up with more coin, wouldn't they rather have ROSSI? These are Lorenzo's and Ross's bikes.. they are the same bikes, they are now 800cc. Yamaha > Ducati based on MotoGP race outcomes. See Stoner vs Rossi in 2008. But if I had the dough, I would buy a Ducati.. :)

The first, is that Yamaha got involved with Fiat (not just as sponsorshipping stuff) and Rossi has a contract wich made him a man of the main italian car brand.

Second is the Ducati not-so-winning policy were the star is the bike itself and not its rider.

Rossi, her ein Italy is a pure idol, and would put in a deep dark shadow a Ducati if he eventually wins with that bike. That's what Ducati fears the most.

And btw, u all don't want Rossi and Stoner together with a Ducati would be boring ;)

Ducati is worldwide famous but it's rather small competitor. I don't think they're willing to pay something like 12 milions euro per year contract bill when they've already a top class pilot like Stoner wich is way cheaper.
