  • Amazing.

  • Great job! Hard to beat that song. Guy Clarke is a genius, he and Rodney Crowell have written some good songs. My favorites are Dublin Blues, Black Diamond Strings and this one. I've been sitting here playing along with you. Thanks! Carl

  • aw man, i just did this song and was thinking about adding harmonica but didn't. looks like you outdid me, sounds great too!

  • COOL

  • Great song, dude! What key is your harmonica?

  • That harp is in C.

  • awesome job there buddy!

  • FYI: this song was written by rodney crowell. it appears on 1994's Let the Picture Paint Itself

  • Both their CD's list this song as being co-written by Guy and Rodney together. They also collaborated on "She's Crazy for Leavin". I think they make a great team.

  • Yes. They're both credited as writers.

I saw a guitar pull years ago on PBS that Rodney was a part of and he told of how Guy called him with this song completed and sang it to him over the phone.

Rodney's contribution was to beef up the melody and chord structure.

    Lyrically, it's all Guy.

  • Yeah, this is cool, Great Song and You do it so well!

  • Glad you like it.

  • WOW Great Job!

I have always agreed with the sentiment here!

I have an old blue shirt like that; the problem is I have 100 of them! And I'm married to some one who does not like it and tries to throw away that old blue shirt!

  • My wife gave up trying to get rid of my old clothes.

    Thanks.

  • Hey Uncle Roy, if it came down to a choice, I believe I'd have to keep the blue shirt... and let the wife go. -- Keep Smilin'

  • Thank you Michael. I was hoping the dog didn't keep it up very long. He does that sometimes.
