From my experience, swapping a motherboard with the same chipset is seamless in Windows 7, you don't have to re activate or anything. I have done a chipset upgrade on a full retail license. It worked, windows 7 updates took care of all the main drivers except my USB 3.0 driver that I had to install from the ECS website. I did have to re activate windows, but it went fine.
@zomgwtfbbqbagel I actually did go in afterwards and clean up the wiring under the card. It was not awful, not anything to disrupt airflow, but I'm with you, it's worth cleaning up.

thanks for this ..I'm replacing my MB and CPU ... I still have my OS installed on the drive ... do I have to wipe and do a reinstall of the OS?
