I was 11 years old when this game aired. I remember thinking there was no way The Skins would come back after the 1st quarter, especially when Doug Williams got hurt.
Even though I'm a Giants fan, I wanted The Skins to win this game, because I liked Joe Gibbs, Doug Williams, Monk, Sanders, and Clark.
The Skins were a class act back in the day. I felt bad for Elway though. His, early, teams got demolished in The Super Bowl. Was happy he won a couple at the end of his career
The sad irony is Tim Smith, who hardly played that year, got his first start in this super bowl and broke the rushing record. The next month in an NFL sponsored flag football game, played on beach sand in Hawaii, severely injured his knee, which ended his career...
@steagle9000 I think you're thinking of Robert Edwards (a New England running back in 1998 who tore his knee up on a flag football game in the beach).
Timmy Smith's career basically was ruined by injuries, inconsistent play and (from what was hinted when he came up on the NFL Network Top 10 One-Shot Wonders) possibly drug use.
@HamptonRoadsTVFan - You are correct. For some reason (perhaps old age and fading memory) I thought it was Timmy Smith. Unfortunately I did find out he was convicted for drug distribution in 2005 and did a two stint in federal prison.
Miss the blowouts, enjoyed the total dominance

@steagle9000 With the Skins offensive line and the sorry Denver defense, most any competent running back could have gotten 200 yards that day.
