Fabulous job, Martin. Very, very nice. I originally learnt the Davy Graham version (circa 1960), which is much simpler, but your version is about as good as it gets!
Oh man, that is superb!! I sat with my mouth agape watching you! I recall Chet said that was the most difficult arrangement he ever played, is that not true? Yet you nailed it!
The only thing I noticed is that you altered the ending, or at least a small chord progression that Chet used leading up to the ending...you didn't include it, and my ears were waiting for it!
I still sounded fabulous, but I wondered why you skipped that last chord progression?
I've learned this one many years ago and do not remember all the differences to Chet's version. I use another fingering in the first part. Thanks for watching and your kind comment. You know I love your postings.
Great stuff! Thats my favourite of your performances- because its just the guitar! No backing track. Wonderful picking. I've been trying to find one you videos of a Chet tune, where you do a lovely flourish from a first position chord. I've forgotten the name of the tune! Do you know which one I mean? There were lots of comments... I'd love to see it again, and learn it! Thanks, Tom.
Wow. Very, very nice. Im trying to learn this finger-style in A-minor first position and its really hard - but you just took it to a whole new level.. one sadly tht i will likely never attain :-(
SOunds great! Especially in the key of E playing it in D is a bit challenging getting a drone bass unless you drop tuned it and rearranged the chords. Smooth playing you got it. Chet style.
Sweet. Very sweet. You are a first class guitarist and that performance (of one of my jazz favorites) was outstanding. Happy New Year and thank you for allowing me to enjoy your performance.
Hey, great video! I have an audition to do to enter in jazz school and I would like to play this song, can you tell me how you arranged it and/or where did you find the tabs? Thank you, and great music!
The best on You Tube. If you transcribe that song in tab, I will buy it. Wonderful touch and execution. My my my. It will take me a year to learn it, but what a beautiful piece of music. Thank you maestro.
You are a very fine guitarist in Chet Atkins-style..(and of course jazz) You are playing i 5/4. And it's the real thing for "Take Five" Very nice, I think. Keep up your good work.---The best from an jazz-saxephonist from Norway!!
You are A very good gitarist i Chet Atkins-Style Keep up the good work. What you do if very diffecoult, and you are doin'n it well. The best from a jazz saxephonist from Norway!
My friend, you are an excellent player. It's not just the incredibly complex song, but your feel and emotion.
