Great video! I made it a favorite for my little family farm in Virginia, we raise Standard Bronze and Black Spanish turkey, as well as chickens, goats bees. Heritage birds are expensive to raise to the quality of the meat and knowing that the animal you buy was raised humanely and processed humanely is very important to us. thanks for your comments! It's true, they are more expensive, the real cost of food is sometimes skewed by factory farms who produce high volumes. In 2007 this small farm lost their entire flock - Heritage birds are difficult to raise bcs they need special feed, space, good weather and attention, unlike factory raised birds. It's fortunate that we both have access to free-range & heritage birds albeit a choice that effects our pocket books. - diana at outpost natural foods
free range turkeys cost 100.00 each no way am I going to eat a free range turkey. (that was the price from co-op) It cost way less rasing them then to pay that outragous price for them.
