Hi hope someo f you can help - I bought opne of these and I cannot get the timer setting to work. I follow the translated instructions for pressing the timer button - setting the time (hours and minutes) timer button again ... - select the ON setting - timer button again ... and nothing..... any help would be appreciated
The major difference I found between the roomba and the M-288 is the navigation. Roomba's navigation is more random and easily gets to every spot in my house in a single cleaning session where as the M-288 fails to get to every spot even after 3-4 cleaning sessions.
You might find it easier if you depress the button when sliding the rubbish bin back in.
Interesting. Although I guess you are paying significantly more for the Roomba.
Subsequently I've had at least one friend return his, and I think eBuyer have stopped selling them, which may speak volumes for reliability.
Mine is still going, but the main roller gets clogged with dust and when this gets too bad the thing refuses to move more than an inch or two. A clean seems to resolve it so far.
Yes roomba costs more and also has reliability issue's as well (mine died after couple years), so its a tough call which is the better buy. At the moment I do favor roomba but my thoughts may change after using the M-288 a bit more (only had it for a couple of weeks).
Thanks for the tip about the main roller. I have just noticed mine got a bit slower over carpet and wasn't sure why.
