5/2011. i just bought this car and love it. Its quiet and smooth with 4 skylights, navigational system and bluetooth, 3 rows of 5 folding seats and front row folding passenger seat, All leather interior, heated seats, plenty of head room and great access to 3rd row, great sony sound system, 24 miles per gallon, rubber mats and no tracks in floor.
The Flex has been a big hit for Ford. Some people don't get the styling and that's fine. As long as Ford is making money on them (and they are) they will continue to be sold.
I like it because it doesn't look like a Lexus suv. Tucson,subaru,travers, they all have the same look! Ford flex is ugly and I like it! My wife is getting hers next month!
whats with the headrest in this, as in many cars, it tilts forward all the time, meaning your neck gets stiff when your head rest on the headrest, no? and survey after survey over many years note that gear shifts are wanted on the steering column NOT on the floor between seats, YOU KNOW THIS FORD< Blew it!!!!

its got a turning radius of about 50 feet. Terrible ingress and egress as the rear doors need 28 inches to swing open fully. My sister and her husband tried to convince themselves to buy another Ford, but just could not justify the price. The ended up very happy with the Honda Odyssey with the auto slide doors.Saved 8K too.

It's a family car that I actually like. I think it's not embarrasing to drive one at all especially if it's in black compared to People Carriers. And Boxes can look good too. Land Rover did and Ford seem to learn the same. What I like about this car is it looks spacious.

No, this is NOT EcoBoost one... I looked at one yesterday (EcoBoost one, Limited Edition AWD) - looks nice, but only sits 6 with rear center console option... And without DVD or sunroof it was listed for $45K! Ouch!
EcoBoost ones have Ecoboost on rear hatch-lower right side.... Also engine has big black plastic cover with same logo on it... Better then V-8 (MPG and acceleration vise) and can be had with AWD! :-)

And I loved the way the headrests tilt against your head, making you feel like you have a broken neck. I just picked up my fully loaded black flex with 20 inch wheels and silver top. Within a week, I probably have sold a dozen for Ford. The car looks far, far cooler in person than the pictures. People love it and I'm asked about it everyday. Ford simply has to shift marketing to yuppies that want a cool crossover instead of pretty college kids riding around dancing. I don't know many college kids that could pay 44K for their Flex. The FLEX rocks and I would recommend it to anyone!
I'm now seeing 2-3 of these a day and they look way better in person than on the internet. I went to a Ford dealer to look at some Mustang GT's and they had some Flexes there so I was curious and looked at those. I didn't sit in it but it had tons of leg room from what I could see, possibly the most leg room than any SUV/ Crossover on the road.

This thing might look odd, but it is an amazing vehicle on the inside. The seats are the most comfortable seats ive ever set in inside a vehicle. This is definately a perfect roadtrip auto! If they tweeked the outside in a slight redesign and dropped the price... it would be a HIT.
Coming from a die hard Ford fan... great work! ... but take that chrome thing off the tailgate in the top end model and lower the price. Thats it!

I think the issue is most people go off of what they hear. "Honda cars will last forever". It all depends on the quality of that specific build. My friends Honda crapped out on them not even passed 80k. You really just don't know. I think the American car manufacturers are "kind of" getting their act together. They may not be the most coolest car, but they do ok. This crossover vehicle is sick. I would definitely buy one. Heck of a lot cheaper than some of the other pimp sled's I've seen

I think you need to pull your blinders off. I'm gay, and I drive a Ford Escape with 210,000 miles. Priors were 95 F-150, 88 EXP and 84 EXP. I don't even consider foreign cars, and I know a lot of gay men and women who are in the same boat as me.

Are you aware that both Ford and GM are rated about Honda and Toyota in qauilty. Are you aware that Toytoa is recalling over 800,000 trucks because of frame rot, are you aware that Toyota is having MAJOR oil sludge problems with their V6 engine.
2002 Nissan Alitima: 125K and burning oil with a broken air conditioner with a shitty plastic interior, and a steering wheel that its dye it comming off. Three months after it was redone by a Nissan dealer.
Don't get me started on german.

My sister has a Mustang with a fucked up alternator and 30,000 miles on it. It's 2008. And, you know, German cars, like Mercedes-Benz, only average 2.5% of their total cars produced having problems, and the Jap. Brands, like Lexus, a measly 1.5% of their total production.
Compare America's history of vehicle reliability and Japan's, and I think the Jap. will shine right through it.

I know someone that has a 2007 with 45,000 miles problem free, what is your point. Besides that one car out of Hundreds THOUSANDS of Mustangs that Ford has sold. IF you look up Mercedes, and even people that hate American cars like top gear, admit that since the 90's their quality has gone down hill. Not to mention how many alternators have gone out. Notice how you didn't say how many new Fords have problems. I wonder why that would be? Because last time I looked it was lower then Toyota.

Hmm, look it up again. Mercedes-Benz recently placed 4th in Quality. I'm not talking about 02-05, those years, I don't know what happened with Mercedes.
I don't have any bias with any motor company, I know Ford is good, now. Back in the 90's, there was a hell of differental problems, master cylinder failures, driveshaft jamming among Ford.
The way you stated your comment, it sounded like there was no error with American domestics, and foreign were the ones with the problems.

You're right. Ford is good, but it's one of the lowest in terms of Full-size luxury cars in quality like the one above. It's the Lincoln Towncar, which I think is quite outdated.

On my channel in my favs you will see a video I favorite that as Motor Weeks Pat Goss talking about the oil sludge, the Toyota truck frames I discovered on many websites including Toyota pick up forms. Its a very simple Google search. The Flex is considered a crossover, not a luxury car. And Ford's Lincoln brand was rated almost as good as Lexus is 2007

Yes. Me and my dad rented a Ford Fusion the other week. The entirely plastic interior was simply divine, much better than leather or suede. And I loved the way the headrests tilt against your head, making you feel like you have a broken neck. I agree with you, and you lack of capitalization; BMW, RR, Audi; If i was to buy a quality car, i would think, hmmm.... a Ford trumps all the best luxury car makers. I'll take one!!!!

I just picked up my fully loaded black flex with 20 inch wheels and silver top. Within a week, I probably have sold a dozen for Ford. The car looks far, far cooler in person than the pictures. People love it and I'm asked about it everyday. Ford simply has to shift marketing to yuppies that want a cool crossover instead of pretty college kids riding around dancing. I don't know many college kids that could pay 44K for their Flex. The FLEX rocks and I would recommend it to anyone!

I'm now seeing 2-3 of these a day and they look way better in person than on the internet. I went to a Ford dealer to look at some Mustang GT's and they had some Flexes there so I was curious and looked at those. I didn't sit in it but it had tons of leg room from what I could see, possibly the most leg room than any SUV/ Crossover on the road.

I'm waiting to see if the hearse industry picks up the slack on this vehicle, as the pricing actually works for a utiliarian economy replacement to a normal $50K caddie hearse or something. THe size and the low entry level from the rear, makes a side mount hinge a n easy mod, to complete the conversion. Damned if I'll drive a hearse tho...

This thing might look odd, but it is an amazing vehicle on the inside. The seats are the most comfortable seats ive ever set in inside a vehicle. This is definately a perfect roadtrip auto! If they tweeked the outside in a slight redesign and dropped the price... it would be a HIT.
Coming from a die hard Ford fan... great work! ... but take that chrome thing off the tailgate in the top end model and lower the price. Thats it!
