she has the 08 bas model hatch and wants to get a turbo one but cant drive stick is there a automatic turbo hatch?

because she used to have a 03 auto turbo one but do the still make them???????????????????????

if you get the 09 impreza 2.5gt it is turbo and only comes in automatic. It is the same power wise as the 08 wrx with an automatic. I do beleive though that the 2.5gt only is 4eat with sport shift and the 08 wrx with auto had the 5eat

the best thing about these 09's is aside the fact all of Subaru's cars are AWD it almost makes the STI pointless where i am these are 25k w/ 5-6k off and the STI is close to 40k with 6off but this car has a FASTER 0-60 then the STI and with close to 15k saved you could easily make this MUCH much faster then the STI for much cheaper but really all i would do is an exhaust and i like the 5door more then the 4door + ill take mine up to bigbear to Snowboard so i need the space

The only reason people think this is faster is because they absolutely raped the 09's in the 0-60. If they treated an STI similarly it would get better numbers. Having driven all models of the new WRX, I can say that the STI is still definitely faster without a doubt. This is the same car as the 08 with minor changes. It still has the same shortcomings as previous years and is not nearly as good a platform to build on as the STI.

Hmmm... the 09 rex has the same internals as the STI. The major differences are plastic headers, smaller intercooler and smaller brakes. The turbo is now a VF52 which is larger than the VF35 found in older STI's. So tell me, how does almost every car review magazine, guide and website happen to floor the 09 WRX more than any other WRX or STI counterpart? Because most of them are pretty unanimous as to the straight line performance of the new rex. Mind you, the new rex is 1370Kg (OZ version).

The engines are slightly different, and regardless of the size of the TC, the STI makes more power. If you want to compare the 09 wrx to older model wrx's, that's fine, but it seems kind of silly to me. Go drive an 09 wrx and an 08/09 STI. The STI is still faster, and there's WAY more to that car than more power and bigger brakes.

Incorrect my friend. Stage 2 09 wrx's make more to the wheels than a stage 2 sti. However u are correct about its more than just power. LSD, brakes, asc,tsc. Completely different on a track. But for most, its not worth 10k additional

@redmed427 that's ABSOLUTELY not true. the new sti's have more going for them motorwise than the wrx and the 08+'s can simply do more w/ the same mods than the wrx can. Besides, give that dynos reading ~40-50hp different from one another is not all that unusual, unless you are comparing an sti and wrx run on the exact same dyno, that statement is unreliable at best. For people who want to seriously mod w/o dealing with the many negatives of the wrx drivetrain, it's worh it.

Yes, im talking about an sti and a wrx on the same dyno... back to back. same exact mods. The only "negatives" of the drivetrain are its "weak" tranny. And the rest is subjective. Idc about lsd or the tc and asc if im going in a straight line.

@redmed427 then you're talking about cars w/ unequal mods, or someone who doesn't know how to tune the new STI. Again, the new STI at stage II makes significantly more power than a stage II wrx of any year. Also, a lsd is not a "subjective" piece of equipment, nor are the significantly better brakes, or the wider track, or the stiffer chassis, etc. Who buys these cars to go in a straight line anyway? There's more to a car than what some rag publishes as its 0-60.

all of those who say this is an ugly model i just can say that a the first time i saw this models on the internet i was disapointed in comparison of the old ones, but i just went to meet these cars in person and drive one 09 and fuck it looks and feels AMAZING i just got one about 2 months ago i have tried on evos and a couple of cars but this cars are definetly fun as hell and there's no way a 07 wrx can compete with a 09 wrx for nothing. also this beast beated the new ralliart evo vertion. =]

It has a bigger intercooler, larger exhaust, and better suspension. It's better. But yea, I agree, not a whole new model.

And it even has a sti turbocharger... still it's just a tuned car. with a little work any mechanic can do better with a 08wrx. of course, with higher costs. so, congrats Subaru USA for your tuning!

In UK there is also a 255 HP version (is called WRXS). I'm waiting for a Romanian edition of 08wrx with 300HP ;)

besides all the tuning and upgrades it got, look at the price difference. Maybe a couple hundred dollars if that. Try upgrading an 08 to match an 09 for a few hundred dollars. not going to happen.

i own this car this week and i own it on the sedan version and all i can say its that this thing blooww the fucking road its a racing machine it gained 45 more horsepower it has the sti spec turbo on it, and also intercooled too.

i got the sedan because the hatchback really sucks the sedan looks like the old one but with a lot more details it looks a lot more sports car.

not yet i cannot be accelerating it a lot until 1000 miles cuz the motor is new. so i jus have been racing it very few times but im planning on instal a biger intake and a exhaust system for the moment and that would be soon and i will try to record a great video for those who are interested on buying one dont even think twice.

Looks like they fixed all the complaints from the 2008 model. 2009 Impreza pricing should be released officially on Monday (25 Aug 2008).
