  • few questions, motor? i know you say lsx but whats the CID or better yet bore and stroke, how did you modify the supercharger to work?!? I cant figure it out since ont he ls motors you can flip the intake so the TB is in the rear of the motor which is the only way to go on a GTM but the SC is belt fed which is in the front of the motor. info on this? or link to info would be better

  • @bldeagle10 They did some custom work on the engine to extend the crankshaft in the back, to run the SC. Real cool stuff.

  • @mtbasher

interesting, not sure if Id want to go through the trouble. 1000hp in a GTM is insane anyways, id be happy with 800.

  • @bldeagle10 Thats where turbos come in my friend :)

  • @Camaros5678

I want my GTM to be a street/track car. wouldn't want to deal with turbo lag on the circuit. may just go Naturally Aspirated and build a beast of an LSX C6R but more so.

  • @bldeagle10 Run an E85 tune, get perfect sized twin turbos for best spool but not too fast for your size engine and run her hard! :)

  • @Camaros5678 id have to do some experimenting, I am not to savvy with turbos, most of my knowledge rests with N/A. but my GTM is quite a few years off from being built!

  • @bldeagle10 Start with an LS7, cam it, get some headers, maybe consider Nelson Racing Engines intake, and you should get above 600hp.

Or you could always supercharge it.

    Depends on your budget too.

  • @TheOfficialKC

LS7 is a pricey motor to begin with, 13 grand for the crate motor. I will have a custom intake, individual throttle bodies, 13:1 compression, Naturally Aspirated, Lunati crank and rods, not sure on what cam yet, maybe C6R top end, my dad works on an indy and nascar team and they run an LS2 in the K&N Pro Series so I can get ideas from that motor, it is just carburated and I will obviously have EFI...should be a pretty stout motor

  • @TheOfficialKC How about starting with a 485Hp LS376? Coat the pipes and add a supercharger for around 650Hp and the same price as a stock, crate LS7?

  • @scaryGTM cause there is no replacement for displacement

  • @QuickSSilver98 You never find me disagreeing with that ordinarily, but seeing as most people build GTMs on a budget, the LS7 adds unnecessary cost when an LS376 can produce the power. Even if you forget the supercharger, a 376 is in a very conservative state of tune from the factory and can easily be tuned to 550Hp with little effort. Sure, you can tune the LS7 too, but there's no arguing that the 376 represents better value for horsepower when budget is everything for most.

  • @mtbasher so does that mean this motor sits farther back than other gtm's? that'd mean changing all the mounts.. i'm curious how they pulled this off too, as the last supercharged ls7 build i saw in the gtm forums showed the pulley sticking out by the driver's head, and they were just going to build a box around it. i cant imagine that being fun to sit next to..

  • @eclypse256 honestly I'm don't remember its been a while since I looked at this car. I remember reading that they extended the crank so the supercharger would fit just where the engine was placed for this car. The only room was on the back of the engine. You'll haveto find their website to get all the info I can't be tooo reputable.

  • it died! oh nor!!

  • @3:10 dyno run starts to get going

  • What motor are you runing?

  • What transaxle is in the car? Is it modified?

  • just awesome
