It is very hard to break down a fight between A Tyson in his prime vs a Ali in his prime. I think Tyson would destroy him, Ali has never faced a guy with the combination of the speed and power that Tyson would bring, and I think he would eventually catch him with a big shot and that would be the end of the night.

I'll admit the conditions are harder in the UFC given that a fighter is offered the opportunity to fight 8 times in 2 years under Dana White management. So by default UFC fighters are not intelligent about their careers like Fedor is. In UFC fighters must prove themselves to you - the lay fan who pays $. the ufc has the best HW, Gonzaga, crocop, couture, lesnar, mir, carwin. You cant compare fighters to the UFC cuz the UFC actually has true legit fighters who dont take easy fights like fedor which inclube zulu, hong man choi and 205lb fighters.

Actually CroCop fought and lost to Fedor. Fedor has beaten Coleman Randleman Silvia Nogeira Arlovski, Thats 5 UFC heavyweight champions Plus Semi Schilt best record in K1 in history and Choi couldn't fight ufc as he couldn't make the weight limit. And if you look at the top ranked heavyweights Fedor vs Barnett is one vs two on most peoples reckoning. Even Randy couture has stated that Brock Lesnar can't beat fedor at the moment. Lesnar has potential but is not in the same league as fedor.

Yes, before his exile(when they took his prime from him) he was undefeatable. After his exile he still defeated the likes of Foreman, Chuvalo,Frazier while he had fanishing skills. frank mir won in the first round by a deep knee bar, brock tapped out. But to brocks credit he nearly had the TKO victory 30seconds earlier, Frank was in trouble but kept his composure and won the fight
he got lucky and got him in an arm or leg hold (cant exactly remember). fight only lasted about minute 30 or something, but lesner basically dominated until he got careless.
Like you said Brock was dominating early, but he go careless. Mir used that to his advantage and got his leg which resulted in Brock submitting. That wasn't luck, that was the other side of MMA. Brock showd dominance through speed and power, Mir won because of patience, experience and technique.
Give Brock a couple more years (even less maybe) to gain experience and perfect his technique and he will be dominating.

mir couldn't even get up after the ref stopped the fight,kept falling,i dont think mir could of taking much more shots from brock,he's lucky he got him at the first round early i think!
it was a good fight, Mir had to go for the submission, that was his only chance. Brock got too cocky once Mir was down, but Mir is good on his back, he should have just let Mir stand back up.

it's mainly because of his olypic style that he is so good with movin on the ground, his punchin wasn't impressive on the ground though. he was throwing alot and landing but they were little bitch taps and a couple of elbows. he still needs alot of training, too much muscle, not enough lung
once he learns how to defende against submissions he will rule. you have to realize it was his first fight and against very experienced fighter. The way he dominated him until the submission was very impressive. He was all over the guy!
yea, he seems like he's a fast learner from what he's been doin' for train for the mir fight. In the next couple fights he has I think we'll see improvement with his submission part cause now he knows that this is a weakness of his but his ground game is good as far as controling and ground and pound goes, just needs to fix the sloppiness of it.

And then about Ali's age who was in your eyes I believe old school and not as good as Tyson's wonderfull age of boxing. Foreman fought in Ali's age and he was an old man in Tyson's age and still was champ. Holmes sayd guys like Norton and Shavers hit harder then Tyson.
Offcourse there were great fighters in Tyson's time, Bowe, Lewis, Hollyfield but euhm, as far as I know Tyson never won against any off them.

brock lesnar is not the prototype of heavy weight champion at the ufc that i want to see.i'm talking for me.he will make ufc look like wwf or some other wrestling thing.fighting just for the show,without any real tecniks.he should have stayed where he was,he was really good there.but he may be able to beat mir,but still he won't come to the level of a real ufc fighter even though he has a title.you need to train martial for a long time to be a real fighter with mind n body reacting together.

I REALLY respect Mir. His comeback has been awesome. He destroyed Minatauro. Brock is really just raw strength with VERY unpolished skills. He will be exposed VERY soon. All that being said. The TRUE h-weight champ right now is Fedor. No question. And until someone from the u.fc. can beat him, OR it IS him, It will stay that way. Fedor has both better stand up and ground game than Mir, no contest. You can talk all day about how Fedor isn't in the UFC and attempt to use that as a justification as to how he isn't as good as someone in the UFC, but at the end of the day that argument is widely overused. Pride isn't something to just blow off. Many of the UFC fighters still compete in Pride tournaments, and guess what, they don't just walk in and mop the floor with those guys.

it's funny when people say that mir was lucky or they complain about the referee. Lesnar was punching as if he fought in a street fight, punches in the back of the head are not allowed (hope the funs of wwe can cope with that). The foot lock that mir did shows how skillfull he is, and that brock is strong, fast nothing more nothing less.

he got lucky and got him in an arm or leg hold (cant exactly remember). fight only lasted about minute 30 or something, but lesner basically dominated until he got careless.

Like you said Brock was dominating early, but he go careless. Mir used that to his advantage and got his leg which resulted in Brock submitting. That wasn't luck, that was the other side of MMA. Brock showd dominance through speed and power, Mir won because of patience, experience and technique.
Give Brock a couple more years (even less maybe) to gain experience and perfect his technique and he will be dominating.
But Mir did not get lucky in that fight.

What is really false is the claim that Mir was at the top of his game. Don't mistake the peaked hype of Frank Mir for his peak performance game. I believe he was at his peak when he beat Tim Sylvia 2 yrs later and he is only now getting back to that level after the devestating car crash.

I'm a lot more impressed with Brock Lesner than I am with Kimbo Slice beating up 2 45 year old fighters like Tank and Ray Mercer who are 2 decades past their prime! Put Lesner in with Kimbo and watch Kimbo lose. They wont fight though because both UFC and Elite extreme have too much invested.

dude... freeman beat mir standing... In the second flurry of the fight. He never recovered. The commentator kept remarking on how slow his sub-attempts were compared to normal. Besides that wasn't Mir's prime. His prime was when he broke Tim Silvia's arm for the Championship belt... right before the devastating motorcycle accident.

i was watching ian freeman vs frank mir ufc 37 or 38 and ian pounded frank mir similar to what brock was doing,and ian got out of the same leg hold and multiple armbar attacks,and just kept pounding him,
mir couldn't even get up after the ref stopped the fight,kept falling,i dont think mir could of taking much more shots from brock,he's lucky he got him at the first round early i think!

it was a good fight, Mir had to go for the submission, that was his only chance. Brock got too cocky once Mir was down, but Mir is good on his back, he should have just let Mir stand back up.

it's mainly because of his olypic style that he is so good with movin on the ground, his punchin wasn't impressive on the ground though. he was throwing alot and landing but they were little bitch taps and a couple of elbows. he still needs alot of training, too much muscle, not enough lung

yea, he seems like he's a fast learner from what he's been doin' for train for the mir fight. In the next couple fights he has I think we'll see improvement with his submission part cause now he knows that this is a weakness of his but his ground game is good as far as controling and ground and pound goes, just needs to fix the sloppiness of it.
