  • The 80s BLOB had a fantastic hook for a sequel, with the disfigured and insane preacher showing the little bloblette he'd collected in a jar ("The Lord will give me a sign!") and I would LOVE to see that followed up.

  • my friend was asking me for a good movie to watch on netflix. the originals werent there! the thing was, thats it. so we found halloween resurection. i knew it sucked, but they didnt have any john carpenter movies either! so i said it sucks but it has busta rhymes, so itll be fun atleast.

  • AWESOME Review, man!! LOVED it!!

  • i laughed my ass off at 4:07 XD

  • the doctor is the bad guy from uhf the weird al movie

  • I swear I watched the Blob but in black and white is there a black and white Blob

  • You know I've never under stood the point of making a horror outer-space movie other than to create mass hysteria about aliens (like today's people). Sure they may be awesome and cool but that shit can really F*** a persons mind to hell. Same can probably be said about zombie movies, I mean there is now talk of a zombie apocalypse this year. When will this apocalypse take place and how will it reach all the way around the earth in a short time. People please this isn't RESIDENT EVIL! seriously.

  • WTF is there a human headed dog in an alien style movie? what the F***

  • @LovemyKratos A hobo is sleeping next to his dog when our hero runs past him in the park and notices a pod next to them. He's being chased, so he just kicks the pod and keeps running. The dog/hobo hybrid is the result of the damaged pod.

  • Doctor Who-a-thon perhaps, James? =D

  • what does CG stand for?

  • @claypool0402 computer generated

  • @l85a1user thx

  • how bout just do what george lucas and disney do? re-release it in theaters or on blu-ray/dvd, dont remake it and shit all over the name.

  • Invasion (2007 version) was a piece of fuckin' shit.

  • i like the the invasion better then the original imo

  • Gawd damn body-snatchin' commies.

  • The next Invasion of the Body snatchers movie will be called "of the"

  • im 16 and i seen all the blob movies

  • 11:35 He says "people" weird. :)

  • I find it funny how every japanese RPG has a "Blob" among the enemys ;D

  • i even think about watching the asylum rip off "the invasion of the pod people" because i just want more

  • i love all of the invasion of the body snatchers movies i espiecially love the concept itself but my favorite is the original the reason it is is because i found the ending really scary (spoilers) what i got out of it was that he warned people but that nobody would believe him because it was exactly like when the main character himself tried to warn other people (spoilers ends here) the one from the 70's was too long and boring to me but it had a great ending

  • Has anyone else realized that alot of old 50's alien invader movie covers had the alien or enemy from the movie carrying a random girl?

  • @JamesNintendoNerd One question my dear friend:

How Much out of 10 would you give "War of the Worlds" (2005)?

    kind regards HulkMatthew

  • The Blob (1988) was the BEST BLOB EVER. :DD

  • I'm 12, and I love old movies! Some are awesome and some of my fab movies of all

  • @drybones68 I was going to comment anyways.53 years ago at age 5 I was taken to see "The Blob".I was 5 & IF I knew what a horror film is,well a kid actually lives a movie I was so scared for weeks.Luckily there were lots of great Disney movies to see.Looking at this Blob I can see all the stupid fake effects but I'll never forget seeing that blob ooze through the heating system into the room.I was right there in my 5 year old head.

  • It! The Terror from Outer Space was later remade as Alien.

  • Oh, James is talking with "Sex Machine" from the masterpiece "From Dusk Till Down" :D

  • not the kitty!!!!

  • BLOBFEST shit my EX is there haha

  • Im 13 and i HATE the movies. I never go to the theatres. If i wanna watch a movie. I watch a good old fashioned black and white movie!

  • 12:29 The real son of the Blob

  • @JamesNintendoNerd I am a 14 year old movie goer and before seeing you videos I never knew of the beuty of old movies hell I now wish I was born in the late 70's to see them and thee old consoles.

  • Ha! American teenagers actually giving a shit to help their town. Thats funny. Today teens would laugh at the people being eaten and then go complain about something on Facebook.

  • You interviewed TOM SAVINI!He makes the best gory scenes in Night, dawn, and day of the dead!

  • Holy shit it's Amanda from Saw 10:20

  • 12:19 James interviews the blob

  • Agreed! watch the originals.

  • i love black and white moveis

  • @rturd1 Might I guess, that you love Interracial porn too :D

  • O wow, I remember the movie from 13:55. I saw a part of it on TCM recently.

  • @AvatarAndKataangFan First Men in the Moon... Pure Stopmotion genius.

  • @baranguirus I actually ment 'The Forbidden Planet', but the other movie sounds interesting too ;)

  • wait wait wait....so they are watching the first movie IN the second movie? ALIEN INVADERCEPTION!!!

  • 08:00 aww i was expecting to see james run out like AAAAAAAAAH and run in front of the camera xD

  • In app "app trailers" enter the code roosterteeth for a extra 50-300 points on us

  • OMG It's TOM SAVINI!!!

  • 11:24 is that james

  • the strangest thing to me is the blob from the 50s looks just like this sweet & sour sauce from this chinese restaurant in my town . CREEPY. i am eating the blob muahaha

  • This movie is the reason I'm afraid to go in movie theaters now.

  • The only way a remake can ever be better than the original is if the original wasn't that good.

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder if Tom Savini is nice in person...

  • @maiwork6666666 James met him

  • @Dontmakemecomeover5 Oh no way, it's not like I just saw that in this video or anything...

  • @maiwork6666666 actually i have myself met him in person he is suprisingly a nice guy!

  • @gkillah678 Oh way cool!

  • 4:06 WHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2:12 she looks like michael jackson

  • "younger generations may not be aware that it is a remake"... i think of "the thing" now with the prequel out, people call the 1982 thing the original.... yeah, right.. that is a remake of a classic 1950s movie, if you didn't know.

  • and in loony tons back in action there is alos a reference

  • @Basekillmenlawz oh yeah when they are in the santuary

  • but there are very few movies I've seen where I could honestly say, "this should not have been made."

just about EVERYTHING has some value. even if it's a shot-for-shot remake, something like the effects could be really good. or it could be laughably bad. take some of the worst movies ever made: The Room, Batman and Robin, Plan 9. are the good? HELL NO. but are they entertaining? oh, hell yes.

for me, the worst thing a movie can be is either:

    A. boring

    or

    B. insulting

  • way I see it, I have no problem with sequels or remakes, so long as:

    A. it's a new story. if you just make the same exact movie over again (take the Nightmare on Elm Street sequel for example), there's no point.

    B. but if it IS the same story, try and improve on it in some way. if the original had a good idea, but bad acting, improve on the script and direction. if the original had terrible effects, but everything else was solid, improve the effects.

  • I don't think people are gonna remember the original "The Crazies". The remake rocks, the original was a piece of shit. Glad they remade it.

  • I agree with James on his remake speech. That's why I like Rob Zombie's remake of 'Halloween'. He made it similar to the original, but he threw in his own ideas and made it his own movie. While it's still not as good as the original it just shows you how you should do a remake. Do them like that and they could be good.

  • In the sequel to the Blob I think people saw it just to see the blob eat people.

  • 9:15 Looks like a strawberry costume

  • the '93 Body Snatches used to scare the piss outta me. I hated when they'd scream "Waaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" it disturbed me as a child. Now I just laugh at how fuckin' stupid it really is. I mean...

    "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah"??? lol

  • I love the fact that even the Grim Reaper loves blob fest

  • HOLY SHIT! TOM FUCKIN SAVINI!

  • poor kitty

  • 4:58

me: i doint like justin biber

    girl: WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

  • A movie within a movie? movinception?

  • Comment removed

  • Someone knows what song sounds in 5:58?

    I love the original blob.

  • wasnt that pod in gremlins 2

  • i do think remakes bury the originals.. some remakes can be good.. like the 1982 the thing and the 80s blob, but like james said, lets not forget the classics that inspired the remakes. the classics are usually better, and if they aren't, at least if they weren't made, the remakes would have never existed too.

  • Please, James, please make a Review of cowboys and Aliens!

  • While I do agree that most modern movie goers refuse to watch old black and white movies just because it's black and white, they also don't want to see them because the effects are pretty corny.

  • That scream scares the shit out of me!!

  • The Invasion of the body snatchers... hmm y does that sound familiar? Aww yeah the Simpsons comic book i bought a long time had the same STORY!! Homer goes all crazy coz every one in springfield was asleep and turned into those pod people...

  • I'm so tired of seeing remakes. It was kind of fun early on in the 2000's when we saw Dawn of the Dead remade, but now it's like Hollywood is just trying make a dollar. I have no problem with that, except A) they're doing it at the expense of burying the originals that made the concept so great, and B) it's giving the studios excuses to lack originality. Don't get me wrong, some remakes I love, but I'd like to see some new concepts done which haven't yet been touched.

  • @rottwielerking Am I the only one who sees it this way these days? A lot of people seem to get really angry whenever I bring this up.

  • my version of the blob remake would be set in the 50s and follow the same story instead of making a completely different version and the blob would be REAL FX only CG if really needed...

  • @MegaSam777 What a coinsidence, my version would be in the 50's too, except mine doesn't have a plot at all, just my dick in some jelly!

  • lol im watchin the 1978 vesion of invasion of the bodysnatchers if you have dishnetwork on channel 311

  • kev mcarthy was i wierd al`s UHF was he not?

  • 0_0 3:00 is that notch!!!?

  • @Deam01337

If you played minecraft while on acid maybe......

  • one of the best 50s alien movies.....THE BLOB!!!!!!*WEIRD ARMS SPASM*

  • 10:30 OMG I saw that part when I was a kid :O it was so scary

  • Both movies, 1956 and 1978 are depressing and scary (O.O) the 78 has a sad scary ending. The 1993 and 2007 version stink

  • "Oh look at me, I'm John Carpenter! I can't produce decent suspense or incite fear, so I just put in more blood!" I mean, God, he must have some kind of gore fetish.

  • @Strayed601 Except, you know, when he produced some serious suspenese in the 1982's the Thing, along with some of the goriest effects in history? Having one doesn't mean that you can't have the other. In the Mouth of Madness was another great movie from the guy, and had some extremely creepy suspense sequences.

  • @Lightice1 Maybe it's just me, but I just find that gore is just going for shock value. All the great moments of suspense in the thing are ruined by the almost cartoony gore. It's the same problem I have with every "Horror"

(Slasher) movie these days. Let's just agree that we disagree on this.

(Slasher) movie these days. Let's just agree that we disagree on this.

  • @Strayed601 The problem applies to many movies, but in the Thing gore was perfectly justified by the plot, and supported the style the movie was going for. In fact I'd like to make to get the makers of poor gorefests take notes of the film on how to make a good movie with gore in it.

I find it childish to think that there's just one way to make good horror. Mere gore certainly doesn't make horror on its own, but depending on the genre it can be used to very good effect at times.

  • @Lightice1 I'm fine with gore, as long as it isn't done in excess. For me, that's, my problem with Carpenter, he frequently crosses that line. Twice. Look, it's just my opinion, and looking back, my original comment was downright offensive. I concede the argument to you.

  • I saw the new Planet of the Apes un aware that it was a remake. I mean, I've seen the original now. I'm sorrry.

  • Those movies are great, some times WAY better without the special effects, cause sometimes they focus way too much on the effects and forget about the story cause they think were dumb. King Kong is the best remake by far.

  • SO THERE SEEING THE MOVIE INSIDE THE MOVIE BLOBCEPTION

  • there are alot of people who i personally know who refuse to touch a console thats more than 5 years old, and that makes me want to puke,

while it seems less worse it its actually more worse!

because that means they'll have the same attitude with movies

"oh no i'll never watch star wars, its old! and therefor horrible!"

    fucking shit...

  • @supercrapnstuff11 it is sad,i saddly am the only one in my house that can watch a black and white movie from as far as the silent era,not because everyone in my house hates them though, just that the pase is slow therefore it becomes relaxing and puts them to sleep,my sister can fall alseep dracula, its like a lullaby to her

  • This island earth? Really? Haha

  • What about Insect films like the fly

  • @Dim4323 I believe he already covered the Fly films in one of his Monster Madness marathons.

  • what is the name of the movie at 13:58

  • @PhilBale "This Island Earth"

  • i just watched the invasion last night it was epic!

  • When he said Body Snatchers was analysed a little too deeply, the first thing that came into my mind was Communism, just before he said it.

  • i saw invasion and i thought it was pretty fucking awesome like how she acted like the aliens when she was walking down the side walk

  • District 9 kicks the shit out of all of these

  • poor cat :(

  • how the hell did you get a interview with tom savini. i want to know

  • Cats suck. I think it's funny

  • Why the kitten?!!

  • An alien movie having to do with the USSR? XD Now I've heard everything!

Come now, does everything have to be Anti Communism? it's not that bad

    hell I'm ne :D

  • I almost cried when i saw the kitten get eaten :(

  • Talk about people now days have no idea of the films that are actually remake. There is this one guy that believe Silent Hill games are base on the Silent Hill movie. I was speechless.

  • 2:59 man dog !

  • ALSO. if youve seen loonytoons: back in action at the secret labatory, it uses some old aliens and robots from these movies

  • why blob eat kitteh :'(

  • Blobfest looks so fun :3

  • Oh And sorry for the lack of grammar down there.

  • Im a 12 year old kids, and I hate CG and love old films, My Favorite is the War Of The worlds, And I wanna see "The Lost World" from the 1920's, I dont look foward to seeing alot of the newer films that come out because most are CG, The old classics are my favorite thing to do, but people think im wierd just because I like old films like in black and white and old, We need to teach other kids, some culture into movie making, like me, im making movies, and I wont EVER use CG :)

  • I went on IMDB and saw that they're making a remake of mortal kombat in 2013.

  • 5:30 Is that Leonard Nemoy?

  • @Stelthbanana Why yes.

  • aim 12 and I love black and white movies

  • lately ive been into older movies like 60s - 80s because new movies seem to suck

  • @skillzthatkillz117 true dat

  • =J

  • Like Transformers, Michael Bay bent that cartoon series over and had his way with it.

  • @Omajani To be honest the first Bay transformers wasnt that bad. It had to be updated, and I think he did it well.

  • @Themastercode1235 then the 2nd one I thought sucked and the 3rd one was ok. He went from awesome to terrible to mildly alright.

  • @Themastercode1235 yup but the second one sucked ass and the third on was ok but not as good as the first one in my opinion

  • @ken01ization I havent seen the third one, and according to the responses the films been getting from both fans and critics, I think I shouldnt be to bad. Beating the second one isnt that hard though. I dont know were Bay was going with that one... robotic women? Racist autobots? And... *shudder*... devestators testicles....

  • I saw Planet of the Apes last night, not knowing that it was a remake! That's just crazy when you see a remake, not knowing that it is what it is!

  • @mikenike123454 its actualy a prequal

  • 3:35. WOOOHOOO IT'S LEONARD NIMOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • james im with you fuck em' black and white is better

  • The remake of the blob is creepy! DX i think i might have nightmares and i can't stop seeing it

  • Netflix only has the Beware! THIS MOVIE!

    -_-

  • I think if the blob will be remade, it should take a step further like in the 80's remake. In 1988, we got to see people get dissolved. How about in this new remake we have the blob land in the middle of a densely-populated area, have tons of people that get devoured by the blob and have it grow so huge it could swallow Godzilla no prob. THAT would be awesome.

  • wow its tom savini aka Jason >:)

  • my mom still has nightmares from the body snatchers

  • The original "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" was one of the first movies I ever saw, love the narration by the main character too. Favorite line has to be:

"I've been afraid a lot of times in my life, but I didn't know the real meaning of fear until... until I had kissed Becky. "

  • how did you not mention that one of the actors in one of the Body Snatcher remakes looks like freaking SPOCK!

  • theres nothing like the classics

  • Thumbs up for those original kick-azz movies that made it more bad azz!!

  • THE BLOB VS. GODZILLA!!!!!

  • Do you live near New York City?

  • Hey james should have talked about The Cat from Outer Space (1978)

  • Hey,Cunt biscuit!I DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR MOMS PUSSY FEST NiGGER

  • He has this stupid notion that actors and directors past that time frame didn't know what they were doing very well. I of course, argued with him and called him a moron.

  • My friend's just like what you talked about in the end. He practically refuses to watch black and white movies, just because they're black and white. Also because of the effects etc. He can't stand to watch any movie that's over 10 years old.
