question for you from one guitar player to another. I play decent rythmn but my lead work and speed sucks horribly. Seems no matter how much I practice I'm stuck in a rut. Did you go through this and if so how did you get over it?

@br0ken68 don't worry man i was exactly the opposite of you before, still am sorta, all i could do was lead like solos and stuff (no covers though my own stuff) and i was terrible at rythmn, what i did was listen to songs with heavy, decent rythmns like metallica, megadeth, pantera, and lamb of god, looked at tabs for some of them and found the chords, modified and made my own stuff, do the same just for the lead parts, look for solos and fills, modify, work your fingers out, and mke ur own stuf

@br0ken68 use a metronome! Start off slow then build up. Learn some basic music theory. You scales and stuff. Learn some solos and that will help you to learn leads. That's what I did. hope this helps. Plenty of free lessons on youtube.
