Actually you could overtake the second person and be in first place, if you're lapping them.
Also he didn't say "the person who is in second position" but the "second person", so the correct answer depends on how many are in the race.
Third, as overtaking involves "passing" someone, then by the time you overtake someone, they are indeed in 2nd position. It depends at what point you define the other person's position in relation to the manoevre.
Not all British people are uneducated, and the ones who are have been demotivated by society to the point where they believe it's futile. The interviewer is wrong about Rolls-Royce - it was bought by BMW in 1998. The guy who pondered whether Britain actually manufactured cars anymore was right to do so. Asking how many colours in a flag doesn't reveal ignorance - it just reveals a lack of obsession with flags - unlike Americans! As for overtaking the second person - what position are you in? - you immediately think "first", but, of course, it's second - that's more a trick question than a sign of stupidity.

No Internet (which the Americans love to claim they invented) they just made British technology work down a phone line, something we had no interest in doing at the time. The Web (what you see when you use firefox, internet explorer etc) is a British invention. Penicillin is a British discovery, helped along by Aussies (Florey) Television is another one.

Actually you could overtake the second person and be in first place, if you're lapping them.
Also he didn't say "the person who is in second position" but the "second person", so the correct answer depends on how many are in the race.
Third, as overtaking involves "passing" someone, then by the time you overtake someone, they are indeed in 2nd position. It depends at what point you define the other person's position in relation to the manoevre.

I knew the answers to these questions as they rely on common sense, but asking nervous Scottish people questions about the British is like an American asking Canadians questions pertaining to America.
