  • @Pottunator ...finally adjust everything so it's just right. Use a tripod when filming to reduce shaking.

  • @ColombianForLife 1.shoot the footage you want of the actor from where the mirror will be 2.Shoot footage of the mirror and the surroundings 3. Shoot footage of the actor from behind him/her in front of a greenscreen, repeating the same moves as in step one 4. Bring everything in your editing program. 5. Crop the footage of step one into the mirror of the footage from step 2. Then place the footage from step 3 on top of everything and key out the green. Also flip the footage of step 1 and final

  • Ok, here's a filmmaking question that has been rounding on my head for a couple of days now:

  • 210th comment! WOOHOO!

  • YAY

  • getting a cheap follow focus for dslr .. diy or buy cheap :D!

  • i think gary should say the question and u answer it :D

  • erik is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

  • It's far more inconvenient to screw on a lens filter when you end up having to change filters for your next shot. A matte box fixes this as you don't have to remove your lens or camera from your mount and you can simply take the filter out of the matte box and replace it with your new one.

Could you try going over a nice cheap way to make a decent matte box (not the tupperware variant)

  • what is the best camera to get for under £600.

  • @indymogul What is the BEST editing software? i would really like to know

  • @omegakleb again, depends on your budget and platform windows upto £100 premiere elements 8 (not 9) above that you have loads of others but my favorite is premiere pro cs5

for mac final cut express for under £150 and final cut pro studio for some more

  • Stop at 0:11

  • Well I have a really small frame, and if after awhile the first one started to hurt I'll have to go with the second.

  • when did you meet JJ Abrams!?

  • This is great we get Zack on BFX and Erik on his own new show! Yay!

  • I got the t2i with a Canon 18-200mm It's handy for peoples that want a cool zoom lens, but i want to make real-clean-awsome-goodlooking movies. Do you have anything to suggest for about the same price? Please reply.

  • ERIK IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I bought a little lens hood for my little camcorder for £5. It's visual awesomeness is now increased by warp factor 7

  • I am so happy

  • So.... Many.... Questions... My brain can't handle it.

  • What Lens Should I Buy for Filmaking on a T2i and Spend Less then 350$?

  • @JippaLippa canon 50mm 1.4\85mm 1.8, based on your neads..

  • @JippaLippa try the light wide angle lens "Canon EF 35mm f/2 " 303$else Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II 119.95$ @amazon

  • @JippaLippa depends on your budget - i would say canon 50mm 1.8f for £99 or 50mm 1.4f for £300 and then you have 50mm 1.2f for £1200

  • @JippaLippa 50 OR 30mm f/1.8 if you don't wanna drop the money for a f/1.4

  • @JippaLippa 50mm 1.8, or 1.4 or maybe a 28-135 IS lens. depends on what you want - zoom range/Image Stabilization/Lowlight capabilities/shallow DOF

  • @JippaLippa i ment a zoom lens

  • @JippaLippa also get a 50mm f/1.4 or f/1.8

  • @JippaLippa 50mm f1.8. Only about $100. The 18-55mm is good for wide angle shots, otherwise go for a lens with 16-..., but they might be more expensive than $350.

  • @JippaLippa You might want to look for the nifty fifty, it's cheap and fast. It's a 50mm prime, with f 1.4 (or 1.2)

  • @MaghoxFr I think you mean f1.8 or f1.4.... the 1.2 is not cheap.... the 1.8 is about $50, the 1.4 is about $300.

  • @RobertGoulet298 Yes, my mistake, you are right, but I think the prices are a bit higher ;)

  • @MaghoxFr Ah, now I've made the mistake, haha. I was thinking 50mm, $50... but it's more like $100 like he said in the video. Looks like the 1.4 has gone up in price... it's an amazing lens. I got it a while back and it was around $340 or so.

  • nice episode

  • nice marshall mini amp on 0:41 :D

  • 1:56 <- keep clicking

  • Thank you very much, I was wondering how to make a good one steady cam.

  • q and erik no one has gone over how to shop for lens's... what to look for ..a general summary does not have to be for a specific camera. f stop to shop for and not to 15mm- 400mm?????

  • the 30 buck rig looks better for the average home video maker, so that is to choice.

    Cool video

  • your trying too hard

  • Thanks for the tips dude!

  • i want to see you eat a cookie!

  • @YRUIM wtf

  • erik beck has a mmj card i bet, he always looks medicated nothing like his clear eyes early work

  • i still think your better off wiith a DIY fig rig. just because its stable and more versitile for shooting with

  • I buyed exactly the same thing you showed at the and a few weeks ago... its really cool, i got it on ebay...

  • Wow watching this video makes me think of how much I still need to learn...I just got into photography and I own a Canon AR-1 Program and recently got a Caso Exilim EX-FH25 High Speed Camera...and Im way far behind when it comes to photography. If anyone has any tips I would appreciate them XD

Great vid by the way...I checked the rig that the guy build and damn its a beast!!!

  • this "30 USD" thing, in china just selling 10 USD

  • dealextreme. com/c/photo-camera-806

  • Yay! Eric's back! I'm totally gonna sub your Q and Eric channel! Good to see you have a regular in front of the camera, man! Awesome tips, too! Thanks!

  • Fig rig; got mine for £30 and i LOVE IT!!

It's great to see Eric back!!

  • Can you use these on a non-detachable lens camera like the Sony DSC-HX1 ? love the show !!

  • I'm getting the t2i next week (or as we call it over here the 550d!!)

  • i missed you eric, and i missed q and eric

  • I have a few red rock set-ups and some other rail based gear, and I have to say, the easiest thing to run and gun with, is the $24.95 shoulder plastic thing.

It is weird and uncomfortable, but it comes through. Gives me moments of hands free and makes me want to lose weight so it will fit properly on my man boob.

  • You can't go wrong with this one, and for the money and ease to build it:

    watch?v=A_CrvVsVdww

trust me--it works like a CHARM!

  • How can I rig a Spring action Airsoft Gun so that every time the trigger is pulled that slider comes back like a semi-auto handgun?

  • Um...image stabilizer on a DSLR only works for photos

  • Second rig because I've used it and its pretty fantastic!

  • Oh, and you totally left out the awesomezor Spiderbrace!!! It's $70 or so and has the nice double (triple option) handle that makes it uber steady.

I'd like to see an episode on car mounts and cheap gyro solutions!!!!!

  • FYI, the IS on Canon lenses doesn't work while shooting video, with the exception of the newer 100mm 2.8 macro, which has the new video-enabled IS system. Ask Vincent Laforet about it sometime.

  • I'd go for the $30 rid because I'm poor.

  • YESSSSSSSSSSS ITS BACCCCKKKK

  • Erik Beck is back on a weekly basis =D !!

  • I would go for the plastic one and add a handle.

  • Never new he had a tattoo? What is it?

  • can you use, for example, a DVX 100b the one he got from cowboy studios ?

  • Yesss! Erik Beck!!!

  • It's better to shoot without IS anyways, doesn't it degrade the image up to 10%

  • Cheesy Cam.com is way better then indymogul period.

  • I like the Cowboy rig but just wondering about the Cowboy shoulder support before I buy it... do you get some movement when you shoot with that chest support being so close to your rib cage?

  • I'm so happy you are back!!!! i really only watch the shows you are on here!!

    AHHHHH!!

  • You talked about the Canon 7D having an unstable shot without help of a shoulder stabilizer. Would investing in such camera be a wise choice or a complete money spender(having to buy so many things in order for video to look great); will the video quality be that unstable?

  • i can haz daft punk helmet tutorial

  • how about i just play baby on the piano

  • <----- iPhone 4 und iMac Gewinnspiel !!!

Rauf da und mitmachen (TugayBeatbox hat auch mitgemacht)

    Nur bis zum 28.02 !!!

  • yay he's back!

  • Erik Beck, could you show a cheap way to get the same feel as a "redrock" on an HPX170 on the same sorts of DSLR's as this episode?

  • Where is a good place to get started in the film business besides youtube?

  • @JohnnyBlazeGR personally im going to film school

  • @tjridley I'm going to school for film, I'm just wondering for afterwards. lol, but thanks I appreciate your input.

  • I am dying for the Sony NEX-VG10 review. >:

  • This is so awesome I was wondering this very same thing!! :D

  • Hey, where is your Bubble Pipe?

  • my issue, how do I get muzzle flare to work smoothly in final cut pro, I can get it in after effects, but for the life of me I cant get it in final cut. any one is welcome to answer this... please

  • YES!!!!!!!

  • what happened to holly wood fx

  • bought myself that $30 shoulder rig right after watching this!

  • @Wubalubaloo Is it good? I'm thinking about doing the same.

  • what happened to backyard fx

  • @TheHelifreak4 Don't they still have it? They just uploaded a video a few days ago. Unless the other guy really fucked things up again I think there going to have this and BFX.

  • @musstakrakish i hope so

  • Erik!!! Awesome!!!

  • Could those work for a video camera or do you have to get something completely different?

  • Good to have you back Eric.

  • Can you build me prop m16 machine gun with a masterkey shot gun

  • indy mogul did you get my message about the batman costume and joker scars? And If so will you make them? Please!!!
